So if you could only have one bike between the SMC R 690 and the Super Duke which one would it be? I am thinking of trading in my 690 SMC R in on a 1290 EVO this winter. Love the 690 but miss having a Super Duke. I had a Gen 2 Super Duke in the past.

Great question and ooo. I don’t know. If I only rode for a few hrs on a weekend then probably keep the 690 as it’s so much fun on a short blast. But longer journeys and a little more speed then the 1290. What a dilemma lol.

Yeah, I don't know either. Reason I figured I would ask you as you have both. I have a Super Adventure and that is my long distance / touring bike and that isn't going anywhere. So I need to decide if I want to keep the SMC-R 690 or switch it out for a Super Duke. With the new 1390 Super Duke coming out I should be able to get a great deal on a 1290 Evo this Winter if I want to change. Not enough room for three bikes. :(

@@geneshaw1234 I agree you’d probably pick one up quite cheap. For me I’d probably keep the 690 as you’ve got the GT for long high speed blasts. Still a bit of a tricky one.

I couldn't decide so I kept the 690 and got the 1290 SDR! Had to do some major re-organization in my garage to have the space for three bikes. The new Gen 3 SDR feels so different compared to the Gen 2 in a good way. Picked up quite a few mods you have shown on your channel so thanks for all the great info.
