Why would you swap the SDR for a lesser bike? And to be perfectly honest I would unsubscribe and looking to ditch LCR for the same reason

Hi Rob, not sure if I already mentioned it but I bailed out from KTM. Mid last year I had a stupid long wait for recall parts to be supplied/fitted. Then my dealer gave up his KTM franchise and he informed me of the upcoming financial problems for KTM. I managed to sell the bike at my asking price and then buy a brand new pre-reg speed twin at a massive discount with 4 years warranty, road tax and the first service thrown in. I have to say that I never had a problem with the KTM and my dealer threw in The full tech pack at no cost. I dont regret buying the KTM but I am pleased to have got out of it at the right time. I’m looking forward to some more relaxed rides on the ST this year and won’t stop watching your vids just coz the SDR has gone. Take care, regards Paul

Great video! Agree with the clickbait thumbnails! I don’t think we will loose KTM! It’s great for me as I’m buying a new 690 and they are a great price at the minute! 3:10 The tools included in the SM700 i got are quite handy and ok quality. Very well thought they include a plier, a multi head T screwdriver and many socket and screwdriver heads, as well a front and rear axle tool that combos with the preload adjuster, which seems pretty tough. Some Torx Ls too. There is some extra space that could maybe fit a small tyre repair kit or other necessities. The funny thing is that you need one of the torx Ls to remove the side panel on the first time. Then, you put the torx snugly in a dedicated slot on the inderside of the seat. In KTM 690s the side panel is divided in two and the panel that hides the tools can be removed without any tool. Very clever design.

690 all day every day. I absolutely adore my smcr she's a weapon. Yeah it weeps abit from the countershaft seal and has done from new but its just self lubrication for the chain 😂

i had no clue about euro 3 4 5 etc when i bought mine. Fuel dongles dont work on the gasgas 700 23 apparently. I was getting ready to do the powercommander etc, everything rotweiller then found about it on a facebook group. Have to get the ecu flashed if i do a pipe and airbox. Sucks. That wings sounded good. Not sure what to get for myself

I had 15 45 on my old ktm 640. Im thinking 15 48 for hoon activities lol. I havent even rode it yet. Ive done the tail tidy delete thanks to your video. Next is a headlight. Then getting the suspension done for my weight and woooo. Ill have to be sensible cause i dont think i can ride like i used to anymore, for now anyway.

Hello Robbie,le 1290 sdr est plus violent 😅j ai essayer une 690 smc 2024 d origine juste avec un silencieux Akra ,le moteur semble castrē,mou sur les premiers rapport ,comparer à mon 500 EXC 2022 ça lève facilement sur 5 rapport et en 15x48,c’est le jour et la nuit avec la 690 ,à part sur boues rapides c est bien en 5 et en 6

Do you compare stock+fuel dongle or plain stock in the Dyno charts? It would be interesting to see what a fuel dongle+exhaust only could do, without even a filter.

I think the stock filter is the exact filter i use on the Karcher WD5 premium shopvac, thinking of upgrading it to a DNA one lol.

Is there really a tremendous difference between fueldongle+exhaust vs ecu reflash+dna+exhaust, that justifies the cost? Where do you feel the difference, in two sentences? Thank you for the videos there are very helpful.

2020 KTM 1290 Super Duke R - the "Race-on" button, key, or whatever the manufacturer calls it, isn’t working. The issue is signaled by the dashboard flashing 4 times. The root cause? An oxidized ribbon cable and soldering point inside the steering lock mechanism. Even if the cable doesn’t look separated like in the photo, it can still be faulty because the wires inside the cable itself might have oxidized. Get a pro to fix this - if you mess it up, you might permanently damage the part.

Can you do another comparison between a stock 690 and the stock Ducati? Since the 690 has (at least) an exhaust, that's not really an apples-to-apples comparison.

What’s the video quality like once downloaded, daytime, nighttime etc. can you read number plates well?

its nice to see someone review this with the current version of this. I purchased one off a review a month and a half ago and was disappointed to learn that the new version that you show here does not come with the dashboard that the old version had. So you dont get the MPH/KPH and revs like they were showing. But the newer version does come with the updated cables in that its just the hot, ground and cameras.

I do know when I dropped from 17 to 16 front sprocket on my 1290 way better gearing Speedo not effected .

33 and 36 tire pressures? My ‘23 SM700 says it should be 29 on both for a solo rider
