Currently, the main Kilcher homestead is home to nine: Eivin and Eve, their children, Eivin’s three brothers, and his parents Charlotte and Otto. Although his unconventional lifestyle as a third-generation homesteader isn’t for everyone, Eve is a great fan of simple living, as she herself grew up surrounded by nature. During his formative years, Eivin lived with family members who taught him all the vital skills he needed to survive and thrive. He then built his own homestead to house himself, Eve, their children, and their beloved pet dog, Tonsai.

My question is this…..Why would Jewel put things in her biography that caused her WHOLE family lose their show? If indeed Atz physically and emotionally abused her it could have been handled privately. She said she’s forgiven Atz but I don’t think so. She wouldn’t have made all of that public and ruined the show for her whole family. Seems like she only thinks of herself. I’m not condoning physical violence…..just questioning Jewels motives. She hurt more than just her dad!

Bull. Blame the network. It's more likely that it's because of the relationship between Atz and Jane really falling apart. They are now divorced.And the network made them a central part of the show.As for Jewel, she has publicly stated what her life was like as a child growing up in Interviews since the very beginning of her career. Not only her father,but growing up without running water.Which is long before the show even started. The show knew that before they started the show.

A nice family history report, I've watched every episode of the program and Loved each and also follow Otto on his youtube channel that he has started a short time back so with saying all this I feel that the title of this gives a total wrong picture of just what it is a better title would be a brief family history of the Kilchers and their amazing lives
