What are ideal dispatcher's working hours?

So you said to start at 7am to be ahead of everyone else, because dispatching and finding loads isn’t the only things you’re doing. What else do you do? Are you working on paperwork? If so, what kind of paperwork? Recruiting carriers? Answering emails? Could you go into detail of what else you are doing or could be doing if you’re not just dispatching? Thank you for your channel. Your presentation is to the point and simple, yet you display real world examples. I am relatively new to your channel and have found myself going back to your earlier videos and even rewatching a few to make sure I understood the concept. Moving on: To clarify around this topic: if a dispather is on PST, the ideal hours would be 4a PST (7a EST) - 3p PST (6p EST), correct? This question is specifically regarding search and booking of loads, not so much as the administrative piece (paperwork, payroll etc.).

How often are you disturbed by drivers from 6pm to 6am? You're available 24 hours so there must be times when you have to drop your personal life to attend to their needs. Saturday night at 9pm have you needed to leave the restaurant to attend to a driver? Sunday morning 3am? This what we are wondering about.

Hello. you don't need an MC number to be an independent dispatcher. You can register with DAT with EIN only.
