I hope she stays well and they find a cure, I'm doing my a levels and want to do medicine in order to help people with these kind of problems. If it is a genetic disorder, it may be harder to deal with since every cell in the body will have the same problem

I don't know how exactly your little niece's mitochondria is not working properly, so it might not be relevant, but check out dr Laszlo Boros' research on mitochondria and deuterium. He is a medical doctor as well as a biochemical researcher, and he has seen some very powerful results in his patients after depleting their deuterium levels. It's difficult science to understand, but quite simple to implement. I hope your little niece gets well!
