I sort of understand the concept. But the thing I cant get my head around is why the applied force is opposite but equal. I figured mass and gravity would have more of an effect. Since if you push a box against the ground, its the weight of the box and the friction of the floor that makes it hard to move. But physics almost wants us to believe that someone on the other end of the box is pushing against you.
