Japan’s fashion is next level. Most countries don’t have people wearing high fashion just walking around. Another very special thing about Japanese fashion is it’s so flexible, they aren’t afraid to be themselves and be outrageous. I love that about Japan, even if the culture seems mostly uniform.

I agree, but I do have to point out that cities like London, New York, and Paris all have that one area where people walk around with fits that stand out and they can go all out. It isn't just Japan for sure, but maybe Japan is safer for it.

This isn't indicative of normal everyday style at all lol. Fashion is a bit more formal on average but you'll see a loooooot of the same colors and cuts and makeup, more than most other places I've been.

I loved everyone's fashion in the video because their outfits beautifully expressed them. However, Jeanist is on another level. Someone needs to swoop him up and invest in his fashion ideas. His outfit was the most creative wearable fashion that I've seen.

@@Jumpoable I have dysphoria to the point where all I wear is hoodies since it’s what I feel most comfortable in. Getting dressed to go somewhere nice takes way longer than it should since one minute I convince myself it’s possible to wear an outfit, and the next minute I have to take it off and try something else. Someday, I’ll be able to get help that can allow me to live freely and then I’ll be able to express myself more through my clothes! Or at least that’s the way I see it anyway. For now I just wear things I like that I can still enjoy even with horrible dysphoria. I appreciate the idea though, I wish I could just up and decide one day to wear what I want but for now I really can’t :,)

In the area around Shinjuku and Shibuya on the western side of the Yamanote Line, there is a culture known as "dressing slightly differently," where people tend to dislike wearing the same clothes as others. In central Tokyo, there is a relatively open and diverse culture when it comes to fashion. Some individuals actively embrace unique styles and their own fashion identity, which may lead to a tendency to dress slightly differently compared to other regions. The central areas have numerous fashion hubs and shopping districts where trends converge, attracting young and fashion-forward individuals. This fosters an environment where experimenting with new trends and styles is actively pursued. Consequently, it can be said that unique fashion is more readily accepted than in other areas. The fashion culture in central Tokyo is diverse, drawing influences from street fashion, art, music, subcultures, and more. People of various generations enjoy expressing their own fashion sense. However, it is important to note that Japan, including central Tokyo, is generally considered a relatively conservative society in terms of attire. As a result, wearing overly flashy or revealing styles may attract attention and be seen as an exception to the norm. Therefore, considering social norms and the atmosphere of the surroundings is essential even when aiming to dress slightly differently. Nonetheless, the fashion culture in central Tokyo is ever-changing and evolving, allowing ample opportunities for individuals to enjoy their unique styles. I hope you can embrace your own fashion preferences while striking a balance with the environment around you and enjoy the world of fashion.
