When my state made laws allowing everyone to carry a firearm, no permit required, and use deadly force against attackers, we saw crime drop like a rock. Back before the laws were enacted the leftist critics all screamed that it would be like the wild west, with shootouts in the streets, but that never happened. This crime elimination program works for 2 reasons, dead criminals don't reoffend and would be criminals have the fear of God instilled in them when surrounded by armed people that can administer the death penalty on the spot. Once other states started seeing the statistics and how crime dropped, they started copying my state and others that have concealed carry and stand your ground laws. You can see videos on you tube of this crime elimination program and criminals getting blown away by the good guys, if you type the search words "CCW in action". Warning, these videos may be graphic and not for the faint of heart. I realize that getting these laws passed in the UK would be nearly impossible right now, but start electing pro gun lawmakers and get these gun control laws overturned. This crime elimination program works and you don't have to raise taxes and hire more police. You're actually turning the public into law enforcement officers.

AMG BOYZ - In my state we do care about the 4th amendment. The city of New York under Mayor Bloomberg didn't care about it though, when he illegally searched blacks for guns without probable cause. He also violated their 2nd amendment right to bear arms by making a city law that banned the carrying of a gun in public. The supreme court used to be liberal and refused to do their job and strike down laws that violate federal rights, but thanks to Trump, we now have a majority of conservative judges that will protect our rights.

Captain America America is one of the only countries where firearms for self defence actually works. Cities and towns in the US have much more space than European counterparts. This affects both the actual use of firearms and training. The much more dense population will create problems because it’s difficult to find a good backstop. And even if there was bullet fragments have a much higher chance of injuring members of the public who are not involved in the incident. This isn’t helped by the fact that houses are smaller over here and property occupied land is also very dense. Back to the training, the U.K. doesn’t have the space for creating enough gun ranges for people to safely train like in the US. This would create a system where Incapable people use firearms without being trained because they can’t be bothered or cannot go on a journey to a gun range. What I’m getting at here is that if the entire citizen population was allowed access to guns there wouldn’t be the infrastructure to properly handle it on a lawful level let alone an unlawful level. Whilst you understandably may still disagree with me the systems in the US just likely wouldn’t work. The majority of the U.K. population doesn’t want guns anyway, we don’t fear for a our lives without the possession of a firearm like many Americans because we know we won’t walk into a store or a communal space and be at risk of being the victim of a targeted attack. Obviously if you went to a rough part of a city this could happen in the U.K. or Europe but it’s unlikely that you’ll be caught out in day to day life. Most firearms incidents occur between gangs who don’t target innocent civilians but instead each other away from the normal population.Another of the reasons that doesn’t gel over here is that Americans hold firearms for freedom. Our police in the U.K. specifically are unarmed, whilst this is becoming strained in cities as firearms imports have been rising and the armed police resources are under pressure it is a system that’s manageable. Our police are unarmed so that they do not become and do not act like an authoritarian police state that the citizens cannot fight against. Another thing that is different in the general style of policing is we see police officers as people more than the US seem to. Although I’m generalising slightly the general formality US police have like calling officers sir and ma’am whilst does get their respect seems to ostracise people from looking at them like normal people. Our police in the U.K. although serious when they need to be are casual and approachable, maybe because they know they won’t be at risk of being in a gunfight I don’t know . I know there are definite flaws to our specific system in the U.K. and definite differences between other European countries , I think the general populations likes the way we police. I’m not saying you’re wrong,I’m not trying to degrade you or annoy you. I’m just trying to explain as best I can why your system likely just wouldn’t work on this side of the Atlantic and some of the possible reasons why we have kept it this way without feeling we need to hold firearms. I’ve never been around a firearms community in the US and I’m not sure you’ve been to the U.K. so it’s difficult for us to understand both our lifestyles but hey I hope this helps explain things.

AMG BOYZ - Yes Trump did defend stop and frisk and it's something I disagree with him about, but I'm not going to stop supporting him, because I still agree with most of what he does. He's securing the border and enforcing our immigration laws, renegotiating these bad trade deals, protecting our 2nd amendment, appointing supreme court judges that will eventually ban abortion, lowered the taxes on the middle class and everyone, cancelled the Obamacare BS that fined anyone that didn't have insurance, totally eradicated Isis by dropping 80,000 bombs on their headquarters in Raqqa Syria and flattening it to rubble, cancelled Obama's free taxpayer funded sex changes for the military, forced NATO members to start paying their share of expenses, etc. etc.

We have our share of knife crime here in Norway too (not at the same scale). Not only young people, but some older too. It has been worse the last decades. When I was a teenager, I could carry a pocket knife to school without any problems (late 1980's and early 90's). Not as a weapon, but as a tool. Stabbings in schools was just something we heard about from the USA back then. It is much more strict nowadays, but the real criminals don't care.

Yeah, I grew up in the US in the 70s and 80s and it was common for boys and men to carry a pocket knife as a tool, even to school. We never thought about it as a tool, not a weapon.

Where are the youth centres? Maybe we need to invest in avenues for the young and older in communities who need better opportunities. The government needs to treat this as much of a crisis as we do invading other nations. Keep our people safe and less depressed? How? Create training and jobs for all. Put money into communities that need it. Not just the wealthy. Stop giving money to private schools and stop taking it away from public schools. Invest in public housing, train and employ those who would live in those houses to build it themselves. Give people a purpose. I see so many people who don't have a purpose.

What are you talking about? This is London, there are more opportunities in this city than arguably anywhere else on Earth. If someone chooses to become a drug dealer rather than go to college or get a job then that's 100% their choice. There are more than enough entry level jobs available in major cities hence why they become magnets for immigrants who sometimes can't even speak English or have any education. It's so easy to get work driving, leafleting, restaurant work etc.

Increasing the amount of time people spend in prison for an offence doesn't deter people from committing the crime. There are lots of papers on this matter. However, increasing the likelihood of the criminal getting caught does deter crime. But the real core issue here is poverty.

Knife crime is disgusting. A true cowardly act. If mind sets can be changed over the years like they have done for LGBT community, racial matters, Disabilities and single mothers than why haven't we done that with knife crime. So many angry people out there willing to arm themselve not necessarily for protection but to cause harm and even death. Who are theses criminals role models, who is it that they are looking up to? Certainly the likes of pop or rap music have a massive influence in emotions and attitudes. And that's from all races not directed at any particular group or race because it's all over the UK. Have parents, guardians and families done enough to guide and steer their kids away from crime. As a parent myself I wasn't one to correct the teacher if my son had done something wrong in school and was in trouble. I would let him know that authority is authority . I believe we need to educate our kids. If you're a parent and you don't know what your kids get up to you haven't guided them. Who is your supportive circle? I'm also refering to our grown up kids in their late teens and 20s Talk to your family today about knife crime. Let them know how series this is. And let them know how serious you are. Let's stop any more knife crime from happening and protect future victims of knife crime. Stop the person committing the crime in the first place. And stop you from having a stressful life visiting your loved one in prison. We are the adults/parents and it has to start with us. Too many killed and yet we've achieved nothing. If your loved one is up to no good. Do something about it. Talk to them and get help. Speak up and change that mind set.

People involved around hear social services and youth offending team, and a child says they don't want to see them anymore, it dosnt work, your to soft, blaming parents looking for excuses, and as soon as your child says I don't want to talk social worker and youth offenders say well we carnt make him I give up, so how does that work.oh and tryn to get them to get professional help, but if a child refused that's it, so how's that helping them basically your letting that child to decide, when they are children, and what I got told is we carnt force them to go get professional help it's up to them, so how is that working it's not, its rubbish
