Jamie Alexander would've made a great WW if they hadn't got Gal Gadot & a fun fact for those that don't know Liam Hemsworth was almost cast as Thor. But when they brought his older brother Chris in they immediately said "Nope this is Thor right here" so Tom Hiddleston wasn't the only actor to try out for Thor. And yes, it bothered me Thor wasn't wearing his signature helmet Loki was wearing his throughout the MCU wasn't Thor wearing his helmet?

Thor has been completely transformed into a joke of his former self. Love and Thunder was hard to get through.
@robk.65912 жыл бұрын
I didn't really like Love and Thunder that much. The fight choreography wasn't all that great and they really didn't use Gor that much or that well. Also it tried too hard to be funny. Ragnarok was far better, imo. It knew how to balance comedy and action much better. Plus I cared about the characters much more in it.

Taika fundamentally misunderstood Gorr. Gorr isn't cooky and he doesn't choose love over his mission. Gorr was a character who killed his beloved wife after resurrecting her because she called him her god and EVERY GOD MUST DIE period. And he didn't need a god to literally berate him in order to come to that conclusion. In this he kidnapped children and spooked them. Comic Gorr enslaved every god he didn't butcher so that they could build his God Bomb. MCU Gorr makes me think Taika just didn't read the arc because surprisingly his look was the least of my problems with how they exposed the masses to Gorr.

I had binged on the previous three films before watching Love and Thunder. I remember praising The Dark World when I wrote a review in it for my college newspaper. When I revisited it, I saw that it wasn't as great as I remembered, but I don't hate the movie. I enjoyed Love and Thunder, but it ramped up the goofiness factor more than necessary. Here's how I would rank them. Ragnarok Thor Love and Thunder (though I could flip-flop it with the first film) The Dark World

I'm about halfway through and something that crystal said I found really interesting. She was mentioning about how Marvel was trying to be like DC and being all gritty, when Marvel was bright and colorful. That is pretty much a 180 from how anyone has ever thought of them. DC was always known as the colorful bright tights and colorful villains and heroes whereas Marvel had always build themselves as being more realistic and down to earth. For example, DC has a whole bunch of fictional cities whereas Marvel takes place in the real world and the only fictional locations are Wakanda and Wundagore (which has been all but written out). But it's undeniably true. When it comes to the Cinematic universes, DC has always tried to be grim and dark whereas the Marvel stuff tends to be really light and brightly colored. And now these days, as far as the comic books go, it's almost all universally crap because all of the attention and love is being directed to the Cinematic

I agree with Crystal and Johanna's ranking. Honestly Ragnarok and Love and Thunder are probably the only Thor movies I'd ever watch again and thats even a big maybe for as Im kinda Marvel'd out at this point. The first one is fine but it really bored me to death when I saw it and Dark World is like ... nothing. I think they really went the right direction making Thor less serious as Helmsworth is actually a really good comedic actor. Love and Thunder did go on way too long so it could probably be cut down, but all the main actors were good.
@BigGahmBoss2 жыл бұрын
My biggest issues with the 1st Thor are the script which starts too many concepts that it doesn't see through, and the Dutch angles
this one almost impossible to watch. Why is Joana so mean in this one. Gave me flash backs of taking nerd stuff to my sisters. Just ignores him, talks over him, and constant insults..
