Except if you look into coffee like you said it's better to trust multiple studies. There's been multiple studies just as much that coffee is good. However almost every article concluded too much coffee is bad. You're also totally right about just about every article and every study on it it's good. Especially matcha I tend to mix matcha with coffee I have two coffees a day with matcha. Then I will have a matcha by itself later. I tend to stay within the recommended amount of caffeine though.

tl;dr Without funding we won't be able to conduct research with enough statistical power... At first glance you might think that industry funding is what drives most errors in the literature. While Dr. Greger often jokingly cites papers that are obviously p-hacked to significance and publication-and he often speaks of the absence of Big Broccoli as if that's the problem- that is not the major contributor of noise. For even when research is not maliciously done, we need research with large enough sample sizes for it to have enough power to show the true signal in the noise. A thing these meta, and meta-meta analyses attempt to battle, by combining the results of many smaller, often differently designed, studies. Even with no malicious intent, small studies and just p-values alone do not have the power to see through the noise. For an explanation see kzbin.info/www/bejne/nnOxlqh9ZpVgl8U and for some more effects of things like publication bias that add to the problem see kzbin.info/www/bejne/amO0pouCqsh7abM This is why I like it when dr. Greger doesn't just show papers and findings, but also tells about the mechanism the effect has. As without a mechanism, a couple of double blind, placebo controlled studies with p

The most important thing is that the bias is known. I mean otherwise corporation could simply ask to ban certain studies because the authors are biased against them. They would immediately do it if they could so it's better to let them publish what they want, not to mention that if they make mistakes you can critique them.

I had to quit drinking coffee last year when I discovered (by experimenting) that it made my a-fib worse. That was after 45 years as a coffee drinker, starting when I was 16! I switched to white tea with lemon juice thanks to Dr. Greger and I love it. Two mugs every morning; plain water and carbonated water the rest of the day. Dr. Greger has changed my life in a number of ways...who knew I would ever be eating a salad every morning for breakfast, or be grating frozen turmeric root into it! Considering I used to eat miniature 3 Musketeers bars by the bag and sometimes lunch on string cheese sticks. I do not do anything like that any more. :-)

I’d suggest dropping the gatorade. Instead, sip some broth or bouillon that’s made from whole foods, without glutamate, such as veggie-based Better than Bouillon. You’ll get more sodium and some other beneficial phenols with it, without the plastic waste, residues and artificial colors. You’ll also do much better with a homemade soup. If you tend to run low in sodium, as many people do, add an extra pinch of sea or Himalayan salt to your soup/broth/bouillon. In fact, drinking gatorade, a hypotonic liquid to your body, actually dilutes your body’s sodium, so you actually lose concentration with it. I have watched this phenomenon in people’s blood labs for years. Your MD, although meaning well, is giving errant advice. I’ve corrected many MD’s who have said the same, who then thank me later for correcting their patient’s labs within a short time. As for potassium, you get far more from most fruit, greens and potatoes. For instance, a tenth of a banana, or a fourth of a small orange, or a handful of spinach each have more potassium than 8 oz of gatorade. Honestly, drop the gatorade. It looks pretty, but its nutrition is virtually useless. Keep in mind the nutrition advice you get from a MD is scant, at best, although they mean well. They get less than a few hours a year of cherry-picked training while in training, and then most do not focus on continuing education in the field, because it is not well-funded. Gregor is an exception. Continue to subscribe to him. Also, get your info from a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist that can hold a passionate conversation about whole food natural healing, and you’ll be better served. Peace!

what exactly is there to cover that's not already been covered? i'm not downplaying the situation, but you guys are seriously being hysterical. just use the same precautions as you would for flu or common rhinoviruses, and you'll be fine. the only difference with COVID-19 compared to other viruses is that there's no vaccine out yet and is difficult to contain. food isn't gonna save you from that lol.

@@ChadX COVID-19 is different from other viruses in that it's more contagious, more deadly, and comes from animals, so our immune system has hard time dealing with it. But other than that, yeah, what else is there to cover that hasn't been already covered. We need to talk about something else besides this stupid virus.

Black tea is largely grown in China, and contain higher levels of lead, arsenic, pesticides etc due to pollution. Also, black tea has fewer antioxidants than green tea or hibiscus. I soak 8 or 10 dried hibiscus flowers with some peppermint and it tastes like minty fruit punch, no sweetener needed.

What about purple Tea Is it safe and healthy to drink? Justea in Canada is selling a tea called purple tea from Kenya. Purportedly, Kenya is the only place in the world that purple tea grows. Purple Tea is part of the Camellia Sinensis Assamica tea family. They say all tea comes from the jade green leaves of the tea plant, except for purple tea. Purportedly Kenya has produced tea since the early 1900's, but this unique Purple tea was first grown in 2011. While it looks good I am concerned because there’s no history of anyone eating or consuming this and when I spoke to someone from justea they said that Kenyan people don’t drink this tea.

It would really be nice if people drew a line between pipe/cigar smokers (who don't inhale), and cigarrette/marijuana/hookah smokers (who do inhale). The risks associated with pipes and cigars should be a mere fraction by comparison. It's a bit unfair to be lumped in with regular smokers. I just want a fair study that can tell the difference.

Pipe/cigar smokers don't inhale??? Perhaps you mean to say they don't inhale as much as the other ones. It sounds like: I want a study that shows the difference between stomping your foot and stomping your foot hard. Dr. Greger would simply suggest that you don't stomp your foot(or smoke) at all.

I mean, a lot of this should be commonsense lol. Of course drinking a solvent (alcohol) and an addictive stimulant (coffee) isn't going to be good for you, but I guess people will always jump through mental hoops for justifications for their unhealthy habits. Coffee is okay if you only have it once in a while, when you actually need it, but drinking a fairly potent and addictive stimulant every single day just to get you out of bed is an extremely bad habit to develop.

To be fair being funded by Coka Cola or Dairy Industry doesn't make the science bad... It's a bit like an Ad Homiem to simply say because they funded it, and they wanted a good outcome that the scientists automatically gave them this to keep getting funding. It would be much better if you took the science and showed how the science of the study is flawed, then make an assumption that because they funded the study that it's more likely or highly likely to be biased and flawed.
@nutritionfactssupportteam4525

That's actually what Dr. Greger did in the video. He highlighted that funding has been shown to increase the chance of favorable outcomes in nutrition research, and does spend some time discussing how some of these results are due to confounding or reverse causation.

@@nutritionfactssupportteam4525 I know he usually goes in to the science more. But didn't as much in this video. I just mean it could come off as the ad hominem fallacy if a flaw isn't shown in the science directly.
