if you are a male, you can take a UTI test strip like the AZO brand you can get in any drug store, one that specifically tests for leukocytes, initial morning urination, if there are none detected, the negative predictive value is 96.4% that you don't have Chlamydia, Trachomatis or Neisseria gonorrhea. If it's positive, though, you should follow up with your provider for further testing.

A urine dipstick looking for leukocyte esterase (LE) is a good tool assuming it was done correctly. Yet it has a poor positive predictive value as you noted. Additionally the dipstick cannot detect leukocytes per se, but can detect LE which is an enzyme associated with leukocytes.

Hello. In your town, or a next one over you should be able to go to a place that provides both tests and treatment for free. They’re usually government funded places. That is where I went 3 days ago, I’m currently half way through my treatment. They were very straight forward and I was outta there tested and treated within 20 minutes. No appointment needed. You should have places like that local to you.

It depends on the situation. Is someone has bacteria in their urine and asymptomatic, it could be an error potentially and should be repeated typically. If someone is having urologic symptoms and has bacteria in their urine or a history of unprotected intercourse, their provider may want to order additional testing. There are many factors to be considered.

If you are losing weight without and changes in diet or exercise this could be a major red flag. It could be one of several different issues. Urethritis is a broad term. The two most common causes in terms of STDs are chlamydia and gonorrhea. The treatment for chlamydia is currently doxycycline and gonorrhea is ceftriaxone. @@luccimobb3346 yeah I did… I tested neg. for chlamydia but pos. for gonorrhea. Took all the meds they gave me and my symptoms are gone and haven’t came back. Planning to go get retested. So, just get tested to make sure and take the meds they give and you should be good dawg 💯
