@@402SHO coyotes are commonly known for a little "ticking" just make sure you aren't hearing a lower end piston "slap" or "Knock". I just got out of a 2014 that had the dreaded piston slap when cold. Plenty of videos online where you can hear what the piston knocking sounds like. I had bad luck with a 14 f150, had the knock but ran great and super smooth when warm. now in a 16 and no knock. ever since discovering the issue on the 14 I've been deep into every thread known to man. my non expert conclusion is that the 15-17 5.0 with the 6r80 is the best.

Gen 3 Coyotes are direct injection. You'll need to run a Gen 3 engine to retain all the same functionality of your vehicle.

Specifically, when do you recommend upgrades oil pump gears for a supercharged 5.0 F-150? Based on year made or boost level or both or what?
@VMPPerformanceTV3 жыл бұрын
Hey Alex, upgrading oil pump gears is typically recommended base on the type of use for the vehicle. As with any modifications, there's inherent risks. OPG/CS are typically at risk from this like shocks in the drivetrain/engine from rev limiter strikes. If you intend to use your Coyote in any manner of racing/motorsport where this may be a risk, it would be worth considering regardless of the power.

We're able to get most anything you'd like to put on your truck. As a supercharger manufacturer and manufacturer of supporting parts for these kits, our website mostly displays our own products. Give us a call at the shop and our support team can source the parts you're looking for and set you up a package with your dyno tune. The number is (321) 206-9369

Yes, if it is the 5.0L V8, it is a Coyote engine. In particular, it's the Gen 3 Coyote.

From everything we've seen, it should have no problem as a daily driver/street truck with a bit of boost.

I was thinking the gen 2 15 up went to 11:1 compression like the mustang then in 18 both went to 12:1. Meaning 11-14 is 10.5:1, 15-17 is 11:1 then 12:1 18 up. I was thinking the 11-14 was the only iteration that had lower compression than the mustang. Is that correct or did it stay 10 5:1 all the way to 2017?
@VMPPerformanceTV3 жыл бұрын
F-150 ran 10.5:1 compression all the way until 2017 in comparison to the Mustang's compression ratio of 11:1 in 11-17.

So besides being performance based in the Mustang or the coyotes in the GT are they the same as the truck and are they technically coyotes in the truck? For instance vortec engines 4.8 and 5.3 are not technically Ls's but everyone in the automotive industry calls them less Ls's. Is it the same for Ford trucks and cars?

It's a name, who cares. The 5.3 and 4.8 are absolutely ls engines. Same with the 5.0s, they are coyotes.

can I put a 2021 Coyote into a 2014 f-150?
@VMPPerformanceTV Жыл бұрын
If you're talking complete engine, a lot of the systems present on the Gen 3 and Gen 4 Coyote are not present in that chassis. So it's not a direct swap. Each generation, for the most part, has componentry that isn't interchangeable, such as timing components and affiliated sensors.

How can i check if my f150 engine is gen4 ?
@VMPPerformanceTV3 жыл бұрын
The Gen 4 Coyote engine is only in the new 2021 F-150. If you have a new body style F-150 that is 2021 year model, you'll have the Gen 4. 2018 through 2020, it'll be Gen 3. 2015-2017, it's a Gen 2. 2011-2014, it's a Gen 1.

@VMPPerformanceTV2 жыл бұрын
Hey Norm. Manufacturers spec oil viscosity based on a number of elements such as engine manufacturing clearances/tolerances, region of sale/projected environment of use, type of use, and much much more. You'll find that heavier weight oil will come into play with heavier duty usage, higher towing capacities, and similar circumstances.

For me…what REALLY MATTERS…is reliability…. Ok fine… the gen 19 is two seconds quicker in the 9 mile drag race… I don’t care… they will all do the work I need. But is the gen three….MORE RELIABLE….. MORE RELIABLE….. THAN THE GEN 2 ..

Me personally not that I’m some freaking engine guru or whatever but a wet belt that’s submerged in oil to me it’s just not a good idea why not just use a chain. I just think it would last a lot longer than a belt that is submerged in oil. But what the hell do I know just my opinion.

I'm sure they'll be willing to pay you a whole pile of money to tell them how to save more fuel without going to this level. It's not like they haven't held off from using cylinder deactivation [much] longer than their competition - but, yea, they aren't trying lol...

The later superchargers do bolt up to earlier Coyotes, though you will need to be aware of your wiring considerations and possibly source the wiring/sensors for your specific vehicle.
