What are the Effects of Heat Stroke?

A quick video on the effects of heat after 2 British Soldiers died this week after a training day in Wales. No official news on how they died, but it is thought that they died from heat stroke in the high temperatures they were training in.

Amazing. I am a Double Certificate Nursing Sister, and had no idea serious sunstroke was so bad...until I had it last year! My endocrine specialist ordered special liver and kidney tests even after my insulin resistance level tests after 8 months of Keto eating, came back normal, from off the charts high, 6 months prior. I now know why...she did hear me when I told her I had massive sunstroke, passed out the next night and was knocked unconscious for over an hour, as I landed backwards onto a cement floor. This occurred the following day...and after watching this...I am really blessed, to still be alive. I actually did feel like my brain was fried...really...The heat stroke occured over 2 days, waiting in the blazing sun, OUTSIDE a government facility...with no cover at all. Everyone was forced to wait in the summer sun for over 4 hours each person...clinging to the fence, waiting their turn to be let into the yard, where there were seats and shade available. Amazing. Really interesting. So basically, on a hot day, the best way to get through it is a lazy day by the pool. Doctors orders I think.

would signs similar to vertigo happen... extreme balance issues? I had this happen to me after two days of working in the Florida heat, getting up in the middle of the night walking to the bathroom.

I walked twelve blocks at around 3:25 p.m. Had a bath before. Felt nausea and raised temperature on my forehead soon after. It's been three days and I still feel like a high fever. How long does recovery take?

I had a heat exhaustion which is almost as close as a heat stroke but thankfully didn’t have a heat stroke but for me I thought the same symptoms as you so I recommend you go to your doctor and tell them what you went through and they will give you a consult to see what you need because for me I got Recommended to take prednisone and it’s a steroid that helps my immune system and stuff so I don’t know what they’re gonna say about you but it is helpful

According to so many people who had heatstroke even as children, all said it took from 4 weeks minimum, to a couple of months. ..until their legs felt ok to walk without feeling wobbly. That was only their physical info, they felt...so who knows the long term effects of this condition?

I have to heat stroke at least one per month. Literally. I cannot afford the medical care after each stroke. I do not get days off work after each stroke . plus if my Ada paperwork is not processed fast enough to allow me to work where I won't heat stroke I will have to stroke twice per month - the 2nd monthly time for a minimum of 3 days .. Still won't be able to afford any medical care or take any sick days off work. Right now I'm still recovering from the stroke I had this last Saturday ... The stroke was really bad as usual but after when I got back out of the southern AZ valley I felt mentally better, not good but lucid at least. However my post heat stroke exhaustion, dry skin, strange feeling skin, mental dullness, memory problems, comprehension difficulties, inability to eat, constant liquid diarrhea are on going -- so it's been Sunday, Monday, Tuesday Wednesday now Wednesday night and still really sick from the stroke I had to have Saturday. I'm having that diarrhea while working for the mortgage co I work for -- remote so clients don't know thank God but it's . not a good situation. I've been forced to stroke so many times and it's done so much damage. I wish I wouldn't have to heat stroke more yet I do - there is no way not to be made to do it over and over. At some point it'll just kill me and I'll be at peace then.

I feel the same I cant function right with this, your brave though I had to quit my job I couldn't handle this heat no more, I get dehydrated fast, scares the crap outta of me, I been having alot of liquid diarrhea also

Wow very helpful I was looking for some information about heat exhaustion I thought I had for the last 3 days I felt weak pale almost fainted few times I can feel and hear the blood going trough my head. I thought I would drink some coconut water I’m glad I didn’t have any . I’m a lot better i don’t know if I should go to be checked. Any advice

I think I might of gotten it, didn't even connect the dots it could of been from running on the trail doing trail runs. My head still feels foggy, it's like I can't keep my thoughts from racing, it's like I have anxiety (I'm guessing never had it before)

Same here I was searching for heat exhaustion but I feel like they’re both related in ways but yes I felt the same feelings as you and I’ve been checked out by a doctor and the doctor recommended me to take steroid medicine for my inflammatory things such as my lungs because I couldn’t breathe and also he recommended me prednisone I don’t recommend you take it but see what your doctor says about it
