The Second Doctor story The Evil of the Daleks and the Eighth Doctor comic story Children of the Revolution feature the Humanised Daleks - Daleks that have been imbued with 'the Human factor' and have embraced pacifism. But what is the story of these friendly Daleks?

Evil is one of my all time fave stories. Always hoped Rusty would turn out to be a 'humanised' survivor.

I would love to see a book or audio on the last member of group. I was always interested in humanised good daleks, that while child like, they were still just as cunning and genius level as normal daleks.

It may be unintentional, but giving Daleks the Human Factor is almost reversing the damage Davros done. Daleks are so inhuman because their genetically engineered to be void of humanity. Alpha, Beta and Omega are Daleks that were given back the brains of their Kaled ancestors. This is effectively what happened to Dalek Sec as well, except he had the memories of what he was like as a pure Dalek

I absolutely love the idea of the humanised Daleks the very first example of a “good” Dalek. I especially love Dalek Alpha as he seems to be the wisest of them which is understandable. I have recently acquired a lot of Dalek comics from the ultimate comic strip books sets and haven’t gotten around to reading this issue yet, but can’t wait to. If Dalek Omega is out there somewhere I really want to see him adorn either a green/silver or purple/gold casing, perhaps in search of other humanised Daleks. I love the concept of a society of Daleks whom, have secluded themselves from the rest of the universe and followed a vow of pacifism to live in peace ☮️ from their evil Kindred. I’m glad you addressed the issue in Evil of the Daleks, where the Doctor states it is the Daleks final end, when logically people would assume it was only the Daleks capital city that was destroyed and surely there would still have been off world Daleks to have survived? xx

Imagine if the humanized Daleks join the time war on the side of the time lords. That would be an interesting story to explore. With the time lords not fully trusting them since after all, they still are Daleks. Even if mutated.

Beta and Omega would be such interesting characters to come back. Imagine if one of them embraced their Dalek nature but with all the benefit of human creativity, like a dark mirror of Dalek Sec. Even better, using an updated version of the original emperors casing. Easily one of my favourite Dalek designs with the crown like ridges

Beta while it was hinted, it weirdly never specified if it was present or not in the colony. So perhaps Omega and Beta are potentially both still out there. Gives a potential opportunity for fun story telling in the future, could be fun (and potentially hilarious) to see a Dalek companion similar to everyone's favorite potato butler. Jokes aside it could also give some fun writing options for the more tragic side of the Dalek species that doesn't get explored as frequently.

I would like to see an episode of NewWho, in which the 15th Doctor would reunite with Dalek-Omega, if he really did survive.

Because it’s the 8th doctor, other than the movie, night of the doctor and basically that one 13th doctor episode we don’t see the 8th doctor at all

I think the should be turned into a tv episode. There's rumors of Paul McGann returning for his own spin-off series so I'd think It'd be perfect for RTD to make this story into an episode.

my favorite humanised Dalek will always be Sec. He wanted to create human Daleks for war, but after seeing Solomon's courage he decided he wanted to be friends with humanity and lead his people out of the darkness. RIP

Librarian-Bot on Deviantart made a comic about another group of humanized Daleks led by Beta that was rather unique. Each member had their own individual casing and personalities that were very human. And it would be nice to see Omega show up in a future story.

Evolution played with Evil's concepts, but we need to see these guys turn up in New Who, they are very different from the various 'good' daleks (at least in their iconic casing) that have appeared and "All hail the Saviour" would be a great cold open/cliffhanger opportunity.

Okay, passionately long comment ahead, read at your own convenience. I'm really glad you made this video. Children of the Revolution is easily one of my favorite stories in general purely because it features Daleks that understand differences in morality and yet still have biases like we do. Upon reading the Interviews, this story readily becomes apparent that it's one big allegory to refugees "Stealing our best houses" and how neighbors of a community want a certain race dead. Despite that, Instinctively, I could hear optimistic Halo music in my head when reading the part where Alpha gave the Doctor a tour of Ashra-Korr. If Alpha hadn't blown up their transport immediately, that hasty action wouldn't have painted them in a bad light by the paranoid humans. Thus, the messy conflict toward the end might have turned out differently. Then again, it could have been the Ancient Kyrol Creature giving Alpha that extra mental psychic nudge to do that. That could also be the reason as to why Alpha tried killing the Doctor toward the end, since the Kyrolean was heavy messing with Alpha's head both figuratively and literally. Granted, the Doctor broke his word, but if circumstances were different, and no one was in peril(Daleks and Humans alike), Alpha might have understood more. But then again, he also idolized the Doctor in an unhealthy way, so there's that. Coincidentally, I was messing with a Dalek Voice-changer app and I was dubbing Alpha's lines for fun just yesterday as of this comment. It is a shame that they were wiped out, but that speaks to how even Humanized Daleks don't last long in a universe like that. The Daleks are just so fundamentally evil, and the greater picture I see is about what it takes to fight that evil, and how many losses that would cost to fight them. I did have one fanfic idea about a Humanized Dalek surviving the battle of Skaro. It would be Omega, but it involves him living on some junk-like planet or somewhere dank and cold where he could hide from the rest of the universe, but he still retains his child-like personality and generally remains out-of-touch with constant Galactic events that shift through the timeline. It doesn't really go anywhere though.

The Humanised Daleks are my favourites. If Evil of the Daleks wasn't a good story, the humanised daleks would be the top reason why I'll go back to watching Evil of the Daleks, every time. But the story WAS amazing and Evil of the Daleks was just...impeccable 👌. The animation adaptation captured the story superbly. I ordered the Volume 2 of the Daleks Comic Collection, last Saturday and it has Children of the Revolution in it. So I'll most likely will enjoy that story because I want to know about how they sought refuge and settled, and how they've grown as a society. I'll admit, I did spoil the story intentionally because, when this video was uploaded at the time, I had no intention of reading the comic strip so I do know what happens to them in the end ('Not your fault btw, I know what I was getting into 🙂). But never the less it'll be an interesting read and I hope I enjoy it, and enjoy the other comic strips in that volume as well. As I'm typing this comment, I'm thinking about an episodic adaptation for the main DW series, and since The Star Beast was adapted for TV, it doesn't seem like a far-fetched idea. Especially since Doctor Who is beginning to enter another golden age with RTD coming back, and the show being on a higher budget than ever before thanks to the Disney deal. So it would be plausible! (at least in my opinion). I would *LOVE* to see this adaptation come into fruition, but with a more good ending, though. Plus, it would give the Daleks a very unique return to the show with them having their own culture and society. Russell, if you read this comment, we're counting on you!! 😄

IT'S A SHAME DALEK ALPHA AND HIS BRETHEREN ATTEMPT AT PEACE WITH HUMANITY ENDED IN A SERIOUS MISUNDERSTANDING THAT LED TO THEIR DEMISE.""

considering that the 60th specials wiped the DWM comics from canon, I'd personally love to see the children of teh revolution story adapted for the 15th doctor. In a similar vein to the Star beast / Human nature were adapted from other doctor who media.

I remember reading the comic at the York library I think. I believe that the humans were still distrustful about the the friendly Daleks and some of them or one of them stole a gun stick and destroyed one of the Daleks in a heated argument?

Actually, I don't really like the idea that human factors made the Daleks "good". Yes, they played with the second doctor and rebelled against the Emperor, BUT, this does not make them good, in the first case they had the minds of children, and in the second it was pure self-defense.

I kinda dislike the trope where a groups that splinter off from evil empires to live a nice and happy life, get thrusted into extinction cause some evil pile of trash wanted to exploit there abilities. Like fuck Kata-Phobus. The next Kata-Phobus I see will be EXTERMINATED!!!
