There's this famous story my mom keeps telling about a group of women in Kuwait who's job is to bang on drums, not sure what the right term is, but one day these women were invited by a family to make some noise in their wedding, the women ofcourse accepted the offer and went there, they noticed that the groom and the bride wore different kind of clothing, it was colorful and very out of this world but the women didn't care about it and thought this was a tradition, and things got weirder as they celebrated for hours past midnight when the family started hopping as they were dancing, and what they saw was not feet but hoofs, the women quickly fled out of the house in a frightening way as an old man approached them outside and asked them "what are you doing inside that ruined house" the women turned around and noticed the house was abandoned long ago, the old man told them about the jinn that lived there and how they were causing a lot of noise. Sorry for the bad vocabulary, I hope I made the story clear.

12:52 I don't think that the reason why the prophet asked his companions to avoid that place is because it was inhabited by Djins. First of all, neither the prophets nor his companions were afraid of Djins. The reason is because those places were inhabited by people who disobeyed God and disbelieved their prophet "Saleh", so God sent his wrath upon them. That is why the only time when they had to go through it, the prophet asked his companions to go in a state of fear and submission to God even and seek refuge from Him as His wrath is still upon places like those.

Years ago when I was teaching in Saudi Arabia, a friend and I drove deep into the desert. The full moon enchanted us to get lost in an ancient riverbed. Hours later, we finally spotted our car. A group of bedouins were circling our campfire. We shouted "salam aleikum" three times, but nobody answered. Feeling uneasy, we got closer. The men turned into rocks and bushes...a desert mirage! There is this jinn story that scared me so much because i kinda witnessed it. Its called abou al fanous (father of the torch) men lost in desert would see a light in the distance and think they are gonna finally find their way to civilization again. The light keeps getting further and further and eventually the man is never seen again. That light was the jin carrying a torche and luring them to kill them. Also for context, during the night wind make dunes move and change size so using them as reference is useless because when you wake up its a completely different place every single night. It all started when i went to Dubai i was 21 and took a buggy deep into the desert and i purposely went to a place void of everything so i can see the unpolluted sky and see the stars. My buggy broke down because i suck at driving and i snapped something in it. I had no reception and it was getting chilly, next thing i see its light, feint but visible maybe just 50-60 meters away and i remembered that horrifying story. I climbed on the buggy to see what it was, i tried so hard to remind myself this shit probably isn’t real or if it was it wouldn’t happen to me. Fear got to me and i was shaking, and that light came a little bit close and i heard whistling coming from its direction. I tried to keep it together for what felt like an hour but was less than 5 minutes. And i broke down and yelled try me ! Come here i will kill you. And the light went little brighter, it wasn’t getting closer just got brighter. I set back in the buggy turned off the lights to maybe see more of its shape. I couldn’t. 20 mins of stress and form the opposite direction i see a second buggy and they told me you are luck the buggies have GPS. When they arrived i showed them the light. They were like “holly shit, you did well to no go there” i said i know the story. The dude said “true or false i wont be the one that finds out”. We left, 7 years later i still remember that day. In those 1,5hrs i lost my sanity and managed to keep it together just enough.

There's another interesting category of Jinn called "Qarin". I'm not sure whether it is a widely accepted concept in other islamic cultures, but it is said that Qarin is a type of Jinn that's accompanying men since birth until the time of their death (quite a similar concept with Daemons in greek mythology). In Islam, It is believed that human soul resides in another realm after death in the spirit world and not wandering around as ghosts. Hence many islamic scholars/spiritual teachers here leaning towards the theory that the presumed dead spirits/ghosts are the Qarins that took the shape of their human counterparts instead of the human spirit themselves.

Qarin is as fas as I know not a jhin it's just a kind mirror of urself. It's not bad nor good. It's does feel and get angry and sad when u get angry or sad, but these feelings are forced on him. When u get sad or very angry u basically forcing these emotions on ur qarin, but it doesn't like so it might make itself noticeable by pinching u in sleep, to give a sign to stop being sad, mad, angry or whatever bad emotion u feeling. They can be called by a meditator to search for a missing person and that I did witness. On Judgment day it will convince as a witness of ur doings. That's what I know about them.

So we have lots of different “Cin” storties where I am from(Turkey). But this story I heard I cannot forget. Agriculture is a big part of village life in anatolia and during the summer months people mostly went to reap their crops or water the crops before dawn sometimes even midnight, this meant that you had to walk alone in the dark for 15-20 minutes until you reached the fields. So in this particular story a man who lived with his wife and had no children went outside to go to his fields. While he was walking he heard a wedding noice from the distance and this is very weird considering it was a weekday, but he eventually reached the fields and watered his plants. He took the same road back to his house keep in mind it was still dark outside. He was exhausted and kept stopping in between then suddenly he saw the wedding and “the people” also saw him. They invited him to the wedding saying: “you must feel exhausted, come eat and drink with us” to which he couldn’t say no. He sat down and ate of their food and just watched as they were celebrating and dancing. It was getting late and the sun was rising. He just then realized what was happening, when he looked at their feet, it was reversed so this is when he realized they weren’t humans. When he realized this he fell into sleep. When her wife had alerted the other villagers because her husband hadn’t come home(there are lots of wolfs and bears here) they had all begun to search for him, he was later found in the middle of the fields next to the road he took. He was covered in mud and was in shock. The second story: Hamam’s are Turkish bathhouses and we have specific streets in each city filled with hamam’s. So this one takes place in one of them. One day a man was walking down hamamstreet and he had this sudden urge of going to a hamam. He went inside and bought the ticket from the only worker. then went through the inside door where you get your specific hamam cloth after that he changed and went inside. It was packed inside so he decided first to lay down a bit on the big heated stone in the middle of the hamam. So after a while of staying in there he realized something off with the people in there. Their feet were reversed and this made him wary of his situation, he went and changed back into his clothes and went as fast as possible to the worker of the hamam. He said that there were “cin’s” inside and they were bathing. To which the worker replied how do you know that they are cin’s, he said that their feet were reversed. The worker than said calmly “Look at my feet was it just like this”. It indeed was like that. The man was scared and quickly left the building, he kept running without looking back until he found some people on the next street to show them the building. So he took them to the street, then to the specific building. From the outside it looked normal, but the hamam was closed. Then the people who had followed him said that this building was originally a Hamam but was out of use for a long time. They later called the police and opened the door, they had found a used cloth and bought ticket lying around in the building.

Even though they're incorporeal, they acknowledged the existence of humans, some of the pious ones were eager to follow the teaching that has been given to humans. Even prophet that created a religion would have Jinns followers. Some of them are as so old and others were young, the young ones were usually not entitled to the truth directly so they sought humans for truth. Judaism, Catholicism, Islam, etc? Yes. As a Muslim, I myself is a bit skeptical of Jinn but I do believe on the 'unseen' as I call them. I can't "see" them but I have always been more sensitive. As I said, I'm still bit skeptical. So when someone years ago (back when I was a college student) told me if my mother is a devout Muslim, I was surprised. I said yes. I never told this person abt my mother. We were barely friends. He said my mother is safe, that she's "guarded" by a Muslim Jinn which take form as a white tiger. I still couldn't believe this claim but that person somehow knew my mother always did Tahajud (a prayer done at midnight). And he said the Muslim Jinn loved to be by her side as she pray. My mother did mention that whenever she did Tahajud, she always smells of Jasmine. My other friend who can "see" spirits always told me. Smells can also identify what kind of spirit you deal with. The evil ones usually smell like burnt wood or trash or smth rotten while the good ones smell nice like flowers.. my brain told me to believe it but the other half of my brain says no. 😂

there is no recorded in Islamic traditions about Christians Jinn or Jewish Jinn. In Islam only divided in 2 type of Jinn, Muslim Jinn and Non Muslim Jinn. Why only have term "muslim"? Because Muslim means "someone who submitted to only one God (Allah)". There is no Jewish Jinn because they are not Jewish but there is jewish myth that talking about shedim (jinn) become Jewish because some of the shedim are believed to be followers of the law of Moses and consequently good. Christian Jinn? I don't know but if they are exist then they are part of Non Muslim Jinn. I believe china folk religion worship a jinn (spirit) even Hindus because Hindu worship all of things include spirit. Then it will became conclusion Jinn or Spirit is not only in Middle East but worldwide.

Jinn are created from smokeless fire. If you’re wondering what that is, it is what we call electricity. That is why some genies are usually portrayed as having a blue color, and the same applies to the color of the “gods” that some Hindus worship. Genies came to many nations and deceived the people into believing that they are the gods. Often these “gods” are blue, which is the color of electricity( also what lighting, blueish white (fire), is made of. Many genies in old tales are known for saying “I hear and obey”, or your “wish is my command”, which is what modern technology companies are trying to provide us with. With Siri for example, you speak, Siri hears, and does it’s best to obey. Technology companies often use the blueish colors to symbolize the future, for example if you look up “artificial intelligence” on google, and go to the images, you’ll see strange robotic faces many of which have bright blue light and run on electricity aka smokeless fire.

Do keep in mind though that when it comes to stuff like this, there are Islamic concepts of Jinn, and then there is the added folk lore. Magicians use jinn to to perform black magic, and jinns only help them through a binding of a contract. Also known as "selling your soul to the devil." Some rural regions in south Asia consider them as spirits with special power and give offerings to them for luck etc. According to Islamic history, jinns were scared of humans but it was the human who started to give undue reverence to the creatures and took jinns as deities and worshipped them. It was no dog, as the sound was too loud to be created by an animal. I didn't feel comfy, took my keys from my pocket. This created a sound. When I had the keys in my fist, yes I was somehow scared and feeling uncomfortable. This area where the containers were is normally very soft light, now it was somehow more light than usual. Then suddenly there was an entity standing beside the container. I am tall, 207cm (6 foot 9), this entity was much taller as I am. Was dressed in all black, didn't see feet, and was as if was floating above the ground. The arms were long, very long, near knees. Long black hair. Was keeping the arms next to the body and was looking at me. There were eyes, but I didn't see the rest of the face, no mouth nose... only white... I shit myself. I turned my head to the left, then back to right. The container was gone, and the entity was gone. Years later I had another experience, was driving my bike past a garbage company. Saw more of them. Was not prepared for this, so drove faster away. Came back after that several times, but have not seen it again. Whatever the message may be, back then I didn't know how to handle and would experience fear and not feeling comfy. Now, many years later after many different experiences seeing entities in other postures. I think I would not walk away but go there or stand and see what the message is. Sometimes we don’t believe in things till we get to see with our eyes. A cousin of mine was possessed by jinns. I was much younger then, I was traumatized, I only hear about jinns but never seen someone being possessed by it. If you lack faith you can’t be in that environment witnessing that particular scenario. We held her down and started reciting some Quranic verses, it was like pouring a hot charcoal on her skin. She was screaming and trying to get free. The strength in her was like that of 2 people or more. And sometimes a diff jinn comes in. Some are calm. They talk and relate gently, while some rants and tell lies about people. I can never forget that day in my life. Never wish that for your enemy, It’s a terrible thing to be possessed by a jinn, especially the bad jinns. They’ll mess up an innocent soul.

Good clarification. The west esp the likes of Hollywood like to romanticize this thing about Lucifer being the fallen angel. A misunderstood being who just wanted to impart knowledge to mankind but God unfairly punished him. Its interesting to me because I think its a peek into the psyche of Iblis himself. I think in his delusion, he does fancy himself as being wronged by God. Unfairly treated and slighted by the preference of Adam ie mankind over him who had faithfully worshipped God until he was raised to the ranks of the Angels. Then suddenly the Almighty decided to create a man from mud, something that he felt was beneath him, who was then elevated to the status of vicegerent on Earth. That must be a huge slap across his face for one with such a big ego.

That's right in the context of the story of iblis there's no clear evidence from the book, Quran but still u can see the existence of fallen angel concept in Islam. Fallen angels r Harut and Marut whose teached the magic to Babylon ppl. They were angels but they disobeyed the entrance of Idrıs to heaven. Then Allah offered the both a test as turning them to humans if they can make more good deeds and prayers than Idris did and they accepted. They are discarded from heaven then came to earth as humans but they didn't do the good deeds as they claimed before(they teached people magic which is a major sin in Islam and many other bad things they done) and became infidels therefore failed the test eventually. Idris was a Prophet too.

@@LetsTalkReligion The True Meaning Of Christ-Mass ... People are offending the LORD GOD KING JESUS when you mock Him by saying, "Merry Christ-Mass". I am hoping that you are not naive to believe Baal worship (aka CHRIST- MASS) is a Christian holiday. People need to stop thinking with their emotions and not be spiritually lazy. The word CHRISTMAS is not written in the HOLY BIBLE. The deceivers tell you that it is the season to be jolly. It is a time of ornaments, red and green decorations, silver bells, holly, mistletoe and colored lights. It is also a time of department store Santas calling out their universal mantra, "Ho ho ho, Merry Christmas." Nearly all of the realm of so-called "Christianity" join in and repeat this same greeting, "Merry Christmas!" Although we hear these words constantly as they resonate millions of times throughout the land, almost nobody understands what they are really saying. It is the purpose of this tract to take the words, "Merry Christmas" and examine the true meaning and essence of those words. A true Christian would want to examine everything they say, because Jesus said in Matthew 12:36-37, "But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgement. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned." We will now set aside all of the customs, glitter and traditions of Christmas, which were taken from pagan witchcraft and popularized by the Roman Catholic Church, and we will focus on the true meaning of the words, "Merry Christmas!" The word "Merry" is simple to define. It unquestionably means to be happy, joyful and light-hearted. The word "merry" fits into the ambience of laughter and frivolity. This word "merry" by itself is innocent and innocuous enough, but as we will now see, it becomes heinously blasphemous when used with the word "Christmas." Here let it be noted that most people think that the word, "Christmas" means "the birth of Christ." By definition, it means "death of Christ", and I will prove it by using the World Book Encyclopedia, the Catholic Encyclopedia, and a book entitled, The Mass In Slow Motion. If you are an honest, sincere and discerning Christian, please read on; if not, you might as well stop right here. The World Book Encyclopedia defines "Christmas" as follows: "The word Christmas comes from "Cristes Maesse", an early English phrase that means "Mass of Christ." (1) It is interesting to note that the word "Mass", as used by the Roman Catholics, has traditionally been rejected by the so-called Protestants, such as Lutherans, Baptists, Methodists, Presbyterians, Pentecostals and so on. The word "Mass" is strictly a Catholic word and thus, so is "Christ-Mass." It would stand to reason, that since all of these denominations love and embrace "Christ-Mass", that December 25th is the great homecoming day, when all of the Protestants become Catholic for a day. It would seem that all of the so-called "wayward daughters" of the Romish church return to their mother, the scarlet harlot. Thus, all of the so-called Protestant churches could sing to the Pope that popular song "I'll be home for Christmas." As previously stated, the word "Mass" in religious usage means a "death sacrifice." The impact of this fact is horrifying and shocking; for when the millions of people are saying, "Merry Christmas", they are literally saying "Merry death of Christ!" Furthermore, when the fat man in the red suit laughs boisterously and says, "Ho ho ho, Merry Christmas", he is mocking and laughing at the suffering and bleeding Saviour, who died for our sins. He does this while parents place their little children into his waiting arms to hear his false promises of gifts that he says he will give them. Consider what you are saying when you say "Merry Christmas." What is so amusing about our Saviour's painful death? What is so funny? Why is Santa laughing? Why are you going along with it? Your words do count and Satan knows it. Yes, the word "Mass" does mean "death sacrifice", and to cement that fact, we will consider the definition of the inventors of the religious application of the word "Mass." I am looking at page 537 of the Catholic Encyclopedia, which says, "In the Christian law, the supreme sacrifice is that of the Mass." It goes on to say, "The supreme act of worship consists essentially in an offering of a worthy victim to God, the offering made by a proper person, as a priest, the destruction of the victim." (2) Please note carefully the word, "victim" of the Mass. The Latin word for victim is "Hostia" from which the word "host" is derived. The Mass, by definition of those who coined the word, is a sacrifice involving a victim. There is no other meaning for the word "Mass" or "Christ-Mass." On page 110 of a book entitled "The Mass In Slow Motion", we find the following words: "It is only with the consecration that the sacrifice of the Mass is achieved. I have represented the Mass to you, more than once, as a kind of ritual dance." (3) In essence, the Mass is the ceremonial slaying of Jesus Christ over and over again, followed by the eating of his flesh and the drinking of his blood. The Mass is the death sacrifice, and the "Host" is the victim. This is official Roman Catholic doctrine, and "Christmas" is a word that they invented. Again, I ask, what is so merry about the pain, bleeding, suffering and death of Jesus Christ? Satan has done quite a job of getting millions of so-called "Christians" to blaspheme. What a deceiver he is. Now you know the true meaning of the word "Christmas" or Mass of Christ. There is much more to know about this pagan holiday, and we will be glad to provide you with plenty of evidence that Jesus was not born on December 25th, and that Christmas is not only a lie, but is actually a witches' sabbat called "Yule" in clever disguise. So interesting. In Spanish the word for Genie is Genio which not only means the spirit as the Jinni, bit also when someone is a genius we say they're a genio. If someone has quite a temper we say they have a bad genie. Makes me think of how it must've been used during the times of Al-Andalus and the influence it had in the region cause these ideas/phrases are still present on latin America.
@Valerio_the_wandering_sprite Жыл бұрын
Nope, genio as in "smart person" comes from the Latin word "genius", (cfr. Italian "genio"), as in "Genius loci" (the spirit of a place). Whether this word is related to Arabic jinni is unknown and matter of debate.
@Peapolop Жыл бұрын
@@Valerio_the_wandering_sprite that's true, however the expression "to have a bad genie" denotes an association closer to the Arabic Jinni.

You’re right. Love your videos. Great insight. Iblis was a djinn because he had the ability to choose to betray Allah. Angels do not have free will to do that. However, Iblis held the status of an angel which is why some people get it mixed up. Just to clarify for anyone wondering

In French, Jinn is translated as "genie" as in "le génie de la lampe d'Aladin". "Génie" also means genius, a person with a powerful mind. "Avoir du génie" means to be possessed of a brilliant mind. I wonder if it is all etymologically connected as Jinns are supposed to inspire poets.
@MrEHD-fj1bz3 жыл бұрын
"génie" surely came from "jinni", in Arabic (to this day) when someone does something fantastic or amazing they say satirically: "Wow, he surely a jinn". it's like saying in English "holy sh*t, this man is a god".

@AshrafAnam3 жыл бұрын
It's a coincidence but no, they are not etymologically connected. The association of "genie" with Arabic _Jinnī_ (singulative form of _Jinn_ ) came from the first European translation of the Thousand and One Nights, which was done by a French orientalist named Galland. He used the French word instead of transliterating the Arabic word since they sounded very similar and had very similar meanings. The Arabic word _Jinn_ comes from the Semitic root g-n-n ("to hide, conceal") because the _Jinn_ are "hidden" or "concealed" from sight. The French word comes from Latin "Genius," which comes from Indo-European root ǵenh₁ ("to produce, to beget") since the brilliance of mind is an "inborn" nature. NOW, very interestingly, the Romans used "genius" to mean a tutelary deity, which many pre-Islamic pagan Arabs did too since they sometimes worshiped and prayed to them. The Aramaic word _Ginnaya_ which is etymologically close to _Jinn_ also means "tutelary deity."

In Arabic the word "عبقري" "abqari" is used for genius,it's related to place called "abqar" where tribes of jinn live The legend claims that if you spend a night there a jinn will come and teach you how to be a poet.

This was very very well put! I would love to see a more comprehensive and detailed segment about things like Jinn possession, different Jinn tribes and families, etc. as I’ve heard quite a lot of different folk beliefs from my Turkish friends. Such as some Jinn being renowned for knowing of hidden treasures and being willing to share their knowledge for a price (like a bride or blood debt), some Jinn falling in love with humans and the prices we humans end up paying for those Jinn feelings. I’m sure there is even much more than what I’ve been told. Also, many of these beliefs have complicated consequences in small villages, like the imposed price for an exorcism, unofficial or harmful remedies for a presumed possession case which ends up being fake, etc. there are also towns that are abandoned due to Jinn infestation and people will not approach to this day - Jinn having been blamed for the town going to ruin or becoming inhospitable, the claim being that this was a price for the services of the Jinn by some residents of the town. What I’ve heard is just the Turkish perspective, so I really would love to see how it differs to other areas like the Levant. There are so many fascinating Jinn folk beliefs and landmarks that I think there’s a lot of room for exploration!

I met a real-life Jinn in my trip to Turkey in 2019, I even caught him on tape with my videocamera. I was visiting the ancient ruins of the Temple of Artemis (once one of the Seven Wonders of the World) and as I was leaving the site, there was a whirlwind on the road, the air became filled with dust, covering my view, and as the dust cleared I could see the shadow of a man approaching where once was a completely empty road. I instantly knew he was going to speak to me, and I was terrified! He eventually approached me and offered me to buy some postcards, which is unusual considering the Temple of Artemis is not a heavily visited tourist attraction and there are no vendors of any kind there (not even for water). I agreed and bought one of the postcards, and then I walked away. I wonder if the postcard has any magical powers to summon him again. I should try sometime!
