Ladies don't drop hints. Just ask. We either know it is a hint but don't wanna mess it up just in case it's not or we don't know. We ain't mind readers here, hanging out doesn't mean you like the person that way so that's not a hint at all no matter what you say. Just outright say it and if you get rejected then that's fine shoot your shot anyway
@DjDolHaus86

It takes men years of friendship to accurately read subtle hints from male friends and actively delve deeper into "yeah, fine" when you ask them if they're doing OK. Expecting us to pick up on subtle hints from what we often view as a strange and confusing species is asking a lot because often the signs of interest are very similar to the signs of just being friendly. It's confusing being a man
@itzskizzyk5472

@@DjDolHaus86 far too confusing. We are always made out to be dumb as shit by not getting the hint. But it's better not to in case you get it wrong or you are just a really friendly person like you says they are very similar in likeness to friendliness.

Story 10 really goes to show that the "hints" method is really bad. Women, just tell them and save them a headache, it doesn't even take a lack of self-confidence to doubt the hints you give, if there's any room for doubt, most guys will wait until it's crystal clear.

What I do is just assume she isn't interested in me unless she directly states she wants to date me. It doesn't matter what she does. As explained by one of the stories, some girls just act like that around certain people. If she wants you bad enough, she'll probably say something. Saves you a lot of awkward moments and unnecessary heartache.

Listen, ladies, let's just be honest with one another: Hints don't work. They don't, and honestly playing 'hints' with guys these days is just begging for the guy to either not look at you, or perhaps even be too paranoid to approach. In this day and age, a guy who assumes you're 'hinting' is playing Russian Roulette with his social life as one bad misread and you're suddenly the 'creepy' guy, being charged with harassment, or the like so they honestly just ignore the signals entirely as it is the safest, most sure way to keep themselves away from trouble. Just shoot your shot, tell them you're interested, and the guy will judge if they're interested or not. Hell, it's likely more favorable of an impression for the one you're interested in as they didn't have to play some long game of 'Guess my signal' with you.

Yeah, 26 year old guy here. I generally assume that anything even vaguely friendly is just that, especially in a professional setting where it could destroy your career if you're wrong. I haven't dated very many women, probably in part because of that idea. But honestly, it's not worth the risk. Personally, I find the attempt to date to be extremely stressful, I'm introverted naturally, but it usually doesn't seem to be worth the stress.

Not relationship, but friendship-related: I had a female friend who kept approaching me to hang out. We’d set a time, and she’d come up with an excuse to cancel. She was always tired, or had forgotten, or didn’t realize she had a paper due. It was infuriating because she was the one approaching me! The last straw was when she asked to grab dinner Saturday night, then told me she was too busy with homework to go out. I’d forgone two other potential plans to keep the time slot clear. Lo and behold, there she was on Snapchat partying with a bunch of her other friends! It was clear she had zero respect for my time, so I told her so and told her not to reach out again if she didn’t plan on following through. She never once reached out to me again, and honestly, good riddance.

I'm 28 and I've noticed the woman being interested in me 2 times. The first one was in an exchange semester but I wasn't interested. She noticed that I wasn't interested and stopped caring too. At least that is my take on it. The other one was a woman I spend time together in a group setting two times for three weeks each a year apart. The first time I showed more interest in her and she didn't. The second time I met her she started to open up and dropped a few hints. I think the most obvious one was that she wanted to have a picture with me. After we left and I stopped seeing her because of outside reasons I really put some thought into it if I should pursue her and contact her. I did have her number and I know what I could have asked as a first date. I'm pretty sure she would have at least accepted a few dates. In the end I chose against it. Her lifestyle is somewhat limiting to what I want, she had some mental problems (I don't think the mental problems would prevent her from forming a relationship but they would make life more difficult) and our core believes are different as I am a Christian and she isn't. Those were the two times I noticed hints. But I guess it is pretty obvious in my case. Normally woman don't show any attention to me. Women talk to me if the situation is right, but in the end I'm talking to guys 90% of the time in mixed group settings. If this isn't the case it is probably a woman who is interested in me. There might be women who dropped hints I missed. But I have no clue how many or if even.

@@benrex7775 it's insane how indirect they can be the main one I remember was a girl at my old gym before I moved home went up to me and said my deadlift form was off, that was it the only reason I found out she was interested is cause after a few weeks of me getting ahold of her number to workout with to keep an eye on my form she finally asked if I wanted to go somewhere after. And I was like girl you lucky I followed up on that you didn't even ask for my name if I didn't get competitive over it or notice you staring at me every time you finished a set when you weren't facing my direction. I'd have took the tip and never spoke to you again.
@benrex7775
@benrex7775 Жыл бұрын
@@randomlygeneratedname In those two cases the interest they were showing me was not once talking to me. It was more. But I guess men are supposed to be the hunters while women are the ones being hunted or something like this. I'm not against that principle. I think we have bigger problems than suitable women dropping subtle hints. One problem is that society is trying to make both men and women as unsuitable as possible and one of my problems is that I'm not much around women so I'm not really in a position where it allows for things to happen.

Been there on story number 10. Been told I had 5/6 qualities she loves in a guy. I was her closest male friend and she showed me some cheesy instagram quote saying your partner is your best friend for life. Asked her out and..."I think of you more as a friend." After that, we were in a cabin in Big Bear. Our friends were out for a few hours and she invited me to nap on her bed. She frequently told me to cut my nails as the thought of them _being inside her_ freaked her out. Ladies, *this is why we don't take hints* . Let your yes mean yes and your no mean no. You are far more likely to get what you want from men if you just state it plainly.

Stories like this are the exact reason why I imagine I won't enter a relationship anytime soon. It is so incredibly difficult to distinguish a hint from normal, friendly behaviour. And in this day and age, misinterpreting a friendly action as a hint is essentially the equivalent of shooting your own social life in the foot. Even if the interest is mutual, most guys will either assume the worst case scenario in regards to hints or just ignore hints entirely simply out of an instinct of social self preservation. I'm not even speaking from personal experience, this is just the most logical conclusion to me. Ladies, you need to realize something. Yes, some of us are dense, I won't deny that. But the vast majority of us are perfectly capable of understanding the hints you're dropping, and simply don't want to assume and risk getting perceived as creepy. Much like how if a guy comes off as too persistent, it's his approach that is the issue, playing this mental chess game with us and trying to checkmate our interest in you is just as big of an approach issue. Often times, we likely *recognize* that the things you're doing are often considered a hint that a woman's interested in you, but there's always that thought in the back of our minds of "What if I'm wrong? What if she's not interested in me? If I make a move and she's not interested, what's gonna happen then?" Rather than losing interest when we don't pick up on the hints, try to understand that in our heads, we're still trying to puzzle out if you're even interested in us in the first place. Seriously, just shoot your shot. If it misses, at least you tried, right? That alone warrants major respect in our eyes. And it leaves a strong impression. That you're confident in yourself, you know what you want, and you're not afraid to try and get it if you have the opportunity. A lot of guys find that *way* more attractive than trying to piece together the complicated mathematical equation of "Gets closer + looks at my lips × holds my gaze ÷ laughs at my stupid jokes × (touches my shoulder/forearm/leg - goes out of her way to talk to me) = romantic interest?" For an equation like this, it doesn't matter how many times you show your work. The answer is *never* always yes.

Personally, I never hit on a girl unless she drops hints first, because I don't like to play the chasing game. Over the years I've noticed that some of the most common hints girls leave are "accidentally" brushing up against you frequently, or giggling at everything you say no matter how unfunny, or complaining about how they should leave their boyfriends to you alot, or making provocative comments like "You have such big hands. I bet that's not the only thing that's big on you", and finally if a girl has failed to get your attention in every other way she will likely ask her best friend to say something to you like "Do you think my friend is pretty? I bet she'd say yes if you made a move at her". I think the hint that goes unnoticed most often is the giggling, when girls aren't good at it it's easy to miss.

So, as a last alternative, we went to disco, but there was only this band playing samba (a bit like jazz). It was boring af. We stayed for 2h and left at 4 AM. Since there were no public transportation open until 6 30 AM, we decided to walk by the river until we got to the Metro station. 6 AM station opens. Everyone goes to the platform where the metro will stop. I reach the platform and sit down on the bench. I was talking a little bit loud about how bad was our night and all that stuff. Then, this girl, out of nowhere, sit beside me while having also her friends sit down. Not even a minute sit down and she starts talking to me being supportive, kind, cute, ... all of these things trying to make me feel better. While she was talking to me, I couldnt even look at her face because of how pretty she was. I was literally stunned. It seemed like what was happening in the surroundings just stopped. We talked for a bit and she clearly gave away the hint, which was related to her being so attentive. All of this to say I was so stunned and embarassed by her beauty that I forgot to ask for her number. She then went away and like less than 5 minutes pass and i realize what just had happened. The metro arrives and I try to look for her to no avail... DAMN.

My other case is a sad one. With both of us ended up just being toxic to each other. Meet via a mutual friend’s Facebook. We realized we enjoyed having intelligent conversations with one another. And usually I fall easily, but she told me she had a boyfriend and so I respected that. And when she told me they broke up I kept my distance. Yet she did get more friendly with me. So I told I could be interested in her, yet she kept comparing me to her ex and thus wouldn’t go through with it. Which was fine with me. She then teases me with info I didn’t want. I told her outright please don’t do that again as in the past I lose control and it brings out the worst in me. And she ignores it giving me more info that I didn’t want and I fall. We did have a lot of back in forth with me trying to get her to like me her liking me at points and then crushing me. And we even met up in real life and did wonderful things to get together such as go to a concert. Even went to see a movie despite her saying her last experience at the movies was with her newer ex and it was intimate. And told her despite being into her that all of our outings were just as friends so nothing would happen. Though the night at the movies I might of missed my opportunity to make my move as she on and off expressed she was in the mood then. And I also learned later on, all the outings we had she considered dates which again I never did despite being the one wanting them to be. And she was also the one that initiated our first hug while I tried to stay friendly. After that we had a falling out, because she got with yet another guy. Who I gave my piano guy tickets to, because we were going to go together, but since she hated my guts I let her new bf have mine. And we stopped talking regularly. We did however email each other monthly. And I was at first love struck, but eventually I was trying to help her with her new boyfriend in strengthening their relationship. Even going as far as to tell her to talk to me less and open up to him more. Too bad I never got to talk to him, she was apparently talking to multiple old friends at the time and thought I was trying to steal her from him when honestly I thought they were going to marry. After months of silence and almost two years since our fall out, I did email her a desperate email, because I was too lonely and she responded needing me in her life again as her and her boyfriend broke up. She didn’t take my advice to talk to him more. Nonetheless it was the same thing again, but with her triggering my bad spot more while being friendly and stabbing me. Or me being to obsessed with the answers I needed that it would drive her crazy. We were toxic for each other. I should of had more self control, I should of seen she was using me for her own comfort not to actually get with me. But it was hard. There are very few friends in my life that would be awake at 2am in the morning to have a shoulder to lean on. And when we were stable we did have the best and most fun conversations. But yeah. We no longer talk as we accepted we were toxic for each other, but it was a situation where I really couldn’t tell if she liked me or not. But that is why videos like this one can be helpful.

Okay, I get that this isn't about women vs men...but why is it that we men are always the ones that need to be romantic? Im sorry, I dont find that to be fair. My girlfriend will invite me out, she will ask me to come over and eat dinner, recently she invited me to the movies. I LOVE doing all of this with her and invite her as well ofcourse but she doesn't just expect me to do all the work...because she actually cares about me as much as I care about her! why is it always expected to be the men that have to do all of these romantic gestures? We like to feel appreciated and loved as well...I know...big fucking shocker aint it? Looking at you 11:30...how about, instead of these "hints" you just FUCKING TALK ABOUT IT?! "Sweety, we dont really go out on dates anymore! Could we try to find a time to do that a bit more often?" So many women talk about men not showing emotions yet they themself refuse to just fucking talk about stuff.

My crush in 8th grade used to give out such obvious hints at the time, but i did not get them at all. She often tried to get close to me like eat with me in lunch, because I had no one to eat with at the time. Asked me all kinds of questions like, if I liked her hairdo or her perfume. I caught her on multiple occasions looking straight at me or with a mirror. Eventually, she confessed, I of course said yes. However, the relationship did not last long, looking back at it now, it would've better if we had stayed friends.

Honestly the worst ‘hint’ is having a friend tell a guy you like them, it happened more than once to me and 100% of the time I assumed they were lying. To this day I’m not sure how many were lying and how many were genuine, but if your friends walk giggling over to someone and tell them you like them, then chances are they sunk that relationship, also if you ever were the friend who did that, you’re an aresehole.

2:11 that one kinda got uno reversed on me. I’m your typical oblivious guy, and there was this cute girl who worked at the local DQ who would always serve me and share small talk while I waited for my food. I honestly never thought anything of it, because I assumed she was just being nice and polite or was bored, or was just one of those chatty people. It was because of this assumption that I never mentioned I had a gf at the time as it never really came up. Fast forward to about a month later, me and a buddy go out for lunch and I bring my gf along and we sit in the restaurant. After 45 minutes of visiting with my buddy, we are about to leave when my gf pokes me and says “do you know that girl? She’s been looking at us for a while”. I look over and see my chatty friendly server giving me and my gf a literal death glare. After that she would hand me off to another server whenever I would come in for food. Still feel a little bad about that one cuz she probably thought I was leading her on. I just didn’t realize she was flirting with me 😂

Guy here. Some might say this story is 🧢, but it’s not that absurd, it’s something that can happen One friend of mine (one of my best friends) had his heart shattered by an asshole girl that came up to him and started flirting only to reject him because she lost a bet and needed to flirt with the first guy she saw, and there were people filming it all. After long discussions, we convinced them to delete it, but my friend was already damaged, and just the thought of it happening to me scared me to death. Fast forward a couple years, at a party, girl came up to me with flirty energy. My first thought was “okay, weird”, because I’m not a handsome guy, I’m short, and average at most. And the girl was beautiful, like stunning. The real deal. And i remembered this story with my friend, and when she started to get even more flirty, I blatantly asked “where are the cameras?” and looked around quickly. She was clueless, so I had to explain the whole story, and the girl almost couldn’t believe it. She said there were no bets or cameras, she just thought I was a good guy and started a conversation. It was awesome, but I still have some trust issues related to all this

In the end, nothing makes sense. This video left me with more questions than answers. If we weren't all so scared to just be clear with each other with words, things would be a lot easier. This extra layer of guessing just makes everything harder for everyone except those who are somehow good at it. Fuck this! I'd rather risk accidentally making someone uncomfortable than having to do all these crazy probability computations to decide if we're into each other or not.

These aren’t always the case, especially the memes and talking about life thing. A friend of mine, and we’ve been extremely good friends for years, she just wanted a meme friend. I quoted vines, so she knew I liked memes, and she wanted someone to nerd out with. There’s a lot of times where a girl just wants a guy friend because some girls don’t get along for reasons x, y, and z. And it doesn’t mean she wants you. It could lead to it, because every case is unique, but these “hints” aren’t hints. Never even heard of the touching exposed skin hint, or laughing while exposing your neck? How the fuck else do you laugh? Do you tuck that shit away when someone isn’t funny? For both guys and girls, just be direct. Why is courting a game of charades?

I had an odd case I guess, the person has DID, a multiple personality disorder. Now that was hard to read the hints. I guess the only hint would be with the personalities that did talk to me, not all of them are social, they were friendly towards me and a lot would talk about things that like and such with me. And some of the more mute ones would talk to me after revealing I knew more about them thanks to the other personalities. We are friends for now and that’s all I really need.

These are all terrible, no one who isn't the person who made up these hints, or taught them, is ever going to pick up on these hints, a lot of them were counter intuitive to each other. By the way, here are some things I still don't know if they were hints with this one girl from high school: feeling up my inner thigh while appearing to tell a joke about me being a stud, jumping on my back for a piggy back ride and immediately shooting back off, spending all her time with me at lunch, saying I looked like Batman when I jumped a small set of stairs to catch up with her, coming to my house to work on a project without telling her parents, inviting me to dinner with her parents out of the blue, getting me to massage her feet while we were watching a movie with friends, talking about our future while we were walking before back tracking about us not even dating, and showing up to my house after graduating(to which I was the only one not aware she was coming over so no one seemed to understand why I was so uncomfortable when she would show up before I could get a shower in). Now if anyone thinks I'm too oblivious the plot thickens, because when she started to talk about our future, I took that opportunity to ask if she wanted to go out, in the least romantic way possible, and in a situation where, looking back, I had way too much power as it was my family's new years party and I was her ride. Well she said yes, nothing really happened, I got a kiss on the cheek when I dropped her off, she told me not to tell anyone we were going out, and by the time we meet back up at school she says she's not in a good place in her life to start dating, I try to get her to just say she's not interested in me, so I could process things and move on, she wouldn't but still kept up all our other daily routines, and I just felt awful and anxious until she stopped coming by and started dating a marine.

Ladies, if you aren't interested say so, guys have a difficult time differentiating between being nice or liking them. Then when they finally realize it feel really bad and creepy. Which doesn't help their self esteem at all. Oh and never do the my friend likes you thing or what do you think about her? Girls bully guys like that in school to make the guy look like a sucker so the girl group can make fun of him. If a girl likes a guy she had to make the approach, not her friends. And guys are most likely not going to heavily flirt with you or assume your hints are anything but being friendly. Due to not wanting to be a creep or ruin their lives, especially because of how girls act nowadays in this feminist me too era. And you can tell by looking and talking to them which guys know first hand about how bad it is nowadays. They will not flirt, they will laugh off and redirect any advances, they will try to stay 2 feet away from you, never be alone with a female coworker, never touch or compliment a female coworker on anything but doing her job well. Don't talk about themselves to women and don't answer personal questions to women nor inquire on anything about her life. Needless to say girls, if you like a guy don't play games and don't keep doing hints if he doesn't respond, straight up tell them that you like him.

why did everyone just agree that when girls dont say no its because they're "nice" even if they don't want to do something with you like since when has honesty become rude and leading someone on become nice ?

It's challenging because it's inconsistent. People on the autism spectrum are looking for clear and definitive rules to try to make logical sense of the cacophony of human behavior. The reality is that all these "what's a hint?" type things are really just "I thought doing this might be a good way to achieve my goal." So you'll get cases where the exact same behavior is a hint or isn't a hint. Where the exact same strategy works or doesn't work. There is no logic to it.

Look at it logically. She could be flirting with you or simply being nice so come up with a question that indicates one or the other. Like a psychological video game

Hints are the most stupid strategy that anyone, man or woman, can use to try to get what they want, for me in what’s equivalent to high school in the US, it got to the point that I started joking with the boys about which girls showed interest and might have a crush on me and which ones were total bitches, 90% of the time I was right. Anyway, I waited until I was making some money to start dating for real, a man is worthless if he doesn’t has either money or experience, and boy did I had a really good time at uni, definitely dating under your age (3 to 5 year gap) is A LOT BETTER than dating on your same age. Also is a lot easier to give the girl a good date and since all of us are still students and also probably broke, almost every date is cheap unless you want to impress her, no fancy dinners, no shopping sprees, no expensive nor long trips, no extravagant gifts, etc. and if you want to impress her, boy is a lot easier when you have money on you.

Story 5: "Could he really be that oblivious?" YES, dear lord when are women going to get this, men are very literal creatures. If you said we are just friends our brains go "friend mode only activated" and we become incapable of seeing you as anything else unless YOU turn that off by saying so.

@@alien9663 Well, I wish I had the best advice but the best I can say is: Show your best side, be positive and optimistic when the moment is appropriate, and just take it easy. If you are ever in a situation that makes you uneasy or nervous just take some silent deep breathes and just be relaxed to not panic. Remember that every action should match every place and time and remember to never be afraid to speak up because confidence is a good thing to show because it builds character and motivation. Best of luck, from an introvert. Lol.
