To get the same map 15 times in a row would originally be 1/32,768. But given you went cross rotation you have to consider the probability of it appearing 2 rotations in a row (the exact same map and mode on any anarchy/X rotation)… this brings the total chances to 1 in 1,310,720 or 0.00008%. Given the proper maths, I do believe this is probably a world record

@@Bowser6495 I mean just objectively it means you'd have a 1/3 chance instead of a 1/2 chance for each map, meaning the odds of getting the same map x times in a row goes from scaling as 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32 to 1/3, 1/9, 1/27, 1/81, etc so it scales much quicker and you have a much lower chance of getting a map an insane amount of times in a row. 1/3 compared to 1/2 might not sound like a big difference but it changes it a lot

i tried to calculate the odds of barnacle being in rotation again, and using that the estimated probability of getting barnacle 15 times when the rotation changes midway through and still has barnacle somewhere is 0.000171%

Let's see... Without the mode change, it's 1 in 32,768. Now you divide that by 2/3 for the 2/3 chance that Clams would still be in rotation (not 1/4 because X battle was guaranteed to be something else) to get 49152. Then you divide it by 1/10 chance that one of the maps would be Barnacle and Dime, which comes out to 491520. So there was (roughly) a *_1 in half a million_* chance for this scenario to happen.

Technically it's 50:50 every time, but yeah this is crazy. Normally matchmaking will only do this to me if i want to play a specific map, and then it'll proceed to only give me the other one.

If you don’t know: when calculating the chances of something happening in a row the odds (from 0-1) are multiplied. So the first game it’s 0,5:0,5, then 0,75:0,25, then 0,875:0,125 and so on

In particular for 15 games each with 2 outcomes and a 1/2 chance of each outcome, when B represents Barnacle and N represents everything that isn't Barnacle, the final outcome that Chara got can be represented by the arm defined as: BBBBBBBBBBBBBBB Which is only one outcome out of the thousands of other potential outcomes, therefore a ridiculously low chance of occurring.

I've been convinced that the map selection isn't random on a roll but on a timer, and if you're game goes full time your increasingly more likely to get the same map you were on because the timer is just naturally flipped into that map.
