In this video, Dr Tabish Saifee describes the shaking or tremor that characterises Essential tremor. It is typically a shake affecting both hands or limbs, and although patients can often describe the shake being worse on one side compared to the other, it is generally thought to be symmetrical.
Shaking can also be described in other body areas, including the head, lower limbs and voice.
Dr Tabish Saifee is a Consultant Neurologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Queen Square and a member of the movement disorder group. If you would be interested in a consultation with Dr Saifee, please contact treatment@queensquare.com.
