I just found your channel and this was the second video I watched. You put time into this and did a great job. The video with 1st original set of figures I have every one and a few 2 of, this video maybe half. I was 9 or 10 when the first star wars was released and every action figure I purchased. I have the darth vader case, Xwing fighter, Tie fighter, land speed cruiser, The the lizard they road I can not remember what it was called. I think the millennium falcon is in my parents attic? I even have the extra stickers that came with darth vader case. I also have the cards like baseball that were released. This was a trip down memory lane and I have kept this stuff put in a storage container and kept it inside for some reason all these years. This weekend I will pull all these out and find a place to sell it all. I am 56 and my 3 kids are grown they never played with this because I forgot about it. There is no need for it to sit there any longer, something happen to me and it get tossed into trash or whatever. As a matter of fact I save a bunch of my old toys and kept a bunch of my dad and uncles toys. I may try to contact you and see if you have any suggestions on the best place to sell this stuff. I am sure there is people who would appreciate getting the opportunity to add to collection and enjoy it instead of everything remaining in a storage container never seeing the light of day. Thanks again for your time you put into this video. 📦

Great video. It's not that the Rebel Commander looked like Cliff from Cheers but the actor in the movie WAS Cliff from Cheers (John Ratzenberger).

Interesting to note that there are two IG-88 variants - a grey one and a silver one (I have both). Also, on some of the card backs - as seen on the 2-1B card in this video - it had an overlay sticker on the back touting the Survival Kit. I did send off for this and got it, so that was the only way you could get some exclusive accessories. Man, every single cardback I still have I cut the proof of purchase circle out of in anticipation of any more "free" offers.

Really enjoying this series so far Joey. It's interesting to see the current values of both loose & MOC. When you complete the series, I'd love to have a behind the scenes on how you came up with the pricing, even if it is just a small clip after the last episode in this series. Keep up the great work and on to ROTJ!

I am actually doing a whole video on this on how you can price out any vintage toy that you find. So it’s perfect to add as a companion to this video :)

I always called the Cloud Car Pilot accessories a drill and stud finder. He didn't make a lot of credits as a pilot because there was 2 per vehicle. So he had to do some maintenance work around Cloud City.

One other back pack to mention was a mail away offer that you would get a blue backpack to carry around Yoda for Luke Skywalker . It also had a grappling hook and breathing masks included.

Bespin Security Guard has 3 versions, small, curved, and square mustache. Small being the least common. Yoda was the first one who came with that felt type coat. The Rebel Commander was made after Major Derlin, John Ratzenberger👌ESB will be always my most favorite line of figures. Happy collecting bro 😎🤙

Thanks for doing these videos, they are very helpful. Not only is Bespin Han a great Han Solo figure, but it can double as an Indiana Jones figure. :) Every time I look, I see a smiley Lando for around $25-$27 in great shape. 😁 Thanks for the video

The decoration on the Leia Bespin gown always looked like it was designed on a Spirograph, and I still think it would've looked better (and more screen accurate) if it had been done in white or pale cream rather than pink. I like to think that Romy and Joz are living in comfortable retirement somewhere; Romy restores vintage Landspeeders and Joz...doesn't. 😁

That was a cool video, Star Wars action figures were a big part of my childhood, it's the time between being too old for Hot Wheels and still think girls are gross...ahhh good times. Anyways as I watched your video all I could think was, "I can't believe my parents bought me all those action figures". The only one's I didn't have were Ruckus, the other Moth looking guy, Lando with teeth...rrrrr, The break apart 3PO and only one style of Ugnaught. I loved all the Hoth figures, especially Luke & Han. I lost my Yoda with robe, can, and snake at a T.G.I.F. as a kid, playing with him in the fake plants that divided the booths.

These are near and dear to my heart too. While I was six in 1978 when the first figures came out, I was at just the right age range for these toys when Empire Strikes Back came out. I love all of the Kenner action figures (even some of the non Star Wars ones), but the ESB ones are still my favorite. Such a huge variety of figures and each one is so well made. You can tell that Kenner was starting to really figure things out and was nearing the peak of their action figure making skill when they designed these. If I did a top 10 favorite Star Wars action figures list, most of them would come from this line. The Bespin Leia is my favorite Leia figure and was so much so as a kid that it was the only Leia figure I had when I was a little kid. I think I picked it because of the color scheme and that fantastic design on the cloak. FX-7 is underrated for sure. Some collectors don't seem to like it much, but it's one of my favorites as a kid and now because of all of the arms it has and that telescoping neck. I've always loved robots, especially ones that are really different from your standard 'guy in suit' designs. The playability for this one was off the charts for me and I played with it a lot as a kid. He and 2-1B (another wonderful droid action figure for that great translucent bacta tank torso) healed all the combatants in my mock battles, even one from other toy lines. Interesting that your childhood Hoth Snowtrooper wound up with his skirt on his shoulders like a bullfighter's cape. I wonder how you managed that without tearing it? Maybe it was put together wrong in the factory? None of my Snowtroopers have their skirts anymore unfortunately. I took them off so they could sit in vehicles. It's a great figure and costume design. The design makes them look even more sinister than the standard Stormtroopers. The Hoth Trooper came out before the Luke in Hoth Gear figure, so we kids pretended he was Luke or Han for quite a while until we found the official figures for those guys later on. It is odd that he comes with that blaster pistol rather than the Rebel blaster or a blaster rifle. I usually wound up giving him a blaster rifle that had the shoulder strap. As much as I like Boba Fett, as a kid, I liked Bossk, IG-88 and 4-LOM/Zuckuss (the gray one) even more. Maybe it was because we saw them for such a short time in the movie, so my imagination could run wild with coming up with all sorts of adventures for them on my own. I didn't get Zuckuss/4-LOM (the brown one) until much later from a fellow collector who was selling figures for really low prices. I'm surprized that I didn't do the mail away for him as a kid as I did all of the other ones. Maybe I saw the brown one as an inferior version of the gray one as a kid. He's actually pretty cool though and I'm glad I have him now. It is really neat that he is one of the very few Kenner figures to ever get a naugahide accessory. Each of the bounty hunters, even poor, incredibly underrated Dengar, have fantastic designs that I've always liked. It was great to see an IG unit finally do something when they showed IG-11 going to town on enemies in The Mandalorian. My favorite part of that series. Fun fact about Bossk: the space suit he wears was used earlier in an episode of Doctor Who by a totally different character. They had to roll the sleeves up in order for the actor to put the Bossk arms on for ESB. Makes for an interesting look. It's like Bossk offed some bounty and then decided he liked the guy's space suit and put it on. Yes, Tales of the Bounty Hunters is indeed a fantastic book! One that I always recommend highly to anyone looking to read more Star Wars novels. Each of the bounty hunters we see meeting with Darth Vader on the Star Destroyer finally get to do something besides stand there. Reading that book was the first thing that made me wish that Lucasfilm would make more Star Wars movies back in 1996. As much as I love the prequels, I was a little disappointed that only Boba Fett got his origin story told in them. The background stories of the other hunters are just as compelling. I wasn't impressed with the new way of doing lightsabers for this line. I had trouble getting my figures to hold them and usually wound up putting poster tack on the grips of these sabers to help that. My Lando figure doesn't have any white paint. He's a neat character in the movies and in the toys. Good character. Yoda was my favorite new character as a kid when ESB came out. So well done by the puppeteers! He was quite believable. The Yoda figure is one that I too have seen a lot of variants of in person. I've resisted the temptation to try to collect them all. I only have two action figures of him: an original one with black pac man eyes, olive skin, and brown snake and the other is a Power of the Force 2 with the orange soup pot, glow lamp and storage case. I like them both but kinda like the POTF2 one a bit better for the ton of detail on him. I agree that the Han figure with the long sleeved jacket is the best looking one. Looks the most like Harrison Ford and is a good design overall except I wish his hands held things better. That's something that the Han in a vest figures from before have on him. I love Kenner action figures, but it has always frustrated me that so many of them don't have hands that can hold accessories very well. I've always pronounced it "A T A T" as an acronym rather than "atat". What is interesting is that so often, the vehicles and characters aren't mentioned by name in the movies, but then Kenner and/or Lucasfilm came up with names for them later that we'd see on the toys, comic books and novels. In the movie, for example, the AT-AT was simply called "Imperial Walker". C3PO with Removable Limbs is one of Kenner's best ideas! I played with him and Chewbacca so much with that net as a kid, yet the net is still in one piece. High quality stuff there. I would have totally watched Romy and Joz if it had been a real TV show. This and the one that Dark Horse Comics came up with: Tag and Bink are great ideas that would make fun TV shows. Great video!

Cool video and perfect timing for me. I won a beat up carded 45A Twin Pod Cloud Car Pilot auction for $100 USD. So if the loose figure (in great shape) is $75 and a carded debut is $275, I think I did alright regardless of card and bubble condition.. The bubble is unquestionably bad, but I think the card can easily be fixed. The card does not look creased or dinged, just warped and wavy from what I assume was heat and age. Books should fix it. If it wasn't a debut card, from 1982, I might open it. I would not have even bought a Return Of The Jedi version. I specifically looked for ESB CCP. Any ESB Cloud Car Pilot.

I say A.T.A.T., but I'm sure the proper ways to say AT-AT. It sounds stupid when I it, but I think it could be either way. I call Zuckuss 4-Lom because it's a robot name, but if we're talking Kenner figures, then I call them by their original listed names.

I use both of those pronunciations interchangeably - Lucas once said what he prefers, but I also think he said it doesn't matter.

@@thepadawancollectorofficial no internet so when I saw Han up on a card on a stall on Accrington market in the UK, I didn’t know what to do. Back then you’d walk into a shop and you’d unwittingly come across action figures, not just Star Wars but Action Force (my favourite!), BSG, Buck Rogers, Star Trek:TMP and even The Black Hole. As a 7 year old, it was amazing. My son is 7 and took him ironically to see The Empire Strikes Back at the cinema 2 weeks ago and saw the wonder in his eyes I had back in 1980.

It's worth noting that Bossk was initially a mail away. Had no idea about the foreign variant. Yet there is a more common US variant of Bossk's skin color and head shape between Empire and Jedi versions, I believe. The AT-AT pilot also has both red and orange Imperial logos on helmet. While the 2-1B released for Jedi has a shinier metallic armor.
