It is more of the "We are all Russian" principle. One may be a communist, the other a liberal, but both believe that serving the Russian people is the primary goal. Hence why the biggest Russian opposition (Zyuganov and the Communists, LDPR, etc) are still anti-western. Flying an imperial and a religious together makes total sense, as both are Russian.

These are all countries that have denied interest of Russian totalitarian control.

It is certainly a great country, but with a short history, under one flag, one politic regime and without national identity.

@@Manowar_ In Bulgaria, the Communists made one of their agents the church patriarch in 1975, and he continued to hold that position until his death, which was well after the regime fell and also caused a schism between priests, which exists to this day. Kids who were seen entering a church would also be named and shamed in front of their class in school and this was in the more "lax" late years of the regime... so not all Balkan countries had this religious tolerance you speak of. If i recall correctly Greece wasn't under the Sovietsphere, so it makes sense it was more open there to Christians. I am an atheist but what the commies did is not something i approve of.

By the way, it was in use long before Ivan the Terrible. At first it was literally an icon taken by the army to battlefields or put up at the top of city walls. Then they put it on flags. The flag that we see represents the first Christian image of Jesus. They asked to paint His picture but he just took a piece of linen, put it to His face and there it was. В японській мові взагалі відсутня лайка крім слова "сідниці", і що? В українській (себто руській (мова Русі)) лайка є, і багато, тільки вона звучить невинно, і лайкою, як такою, її не назвеш. Ви ж, московити, лайку не вживаєте - ви нею говорите, бо це є ваш справжній "иССконний" улусский язик.!
