Now hold on here, I’m a Kansas girl and have never heard of a Congealed Salad- or else we called it something else. But here, our Waldorf Salad has mainly Apples, celery, mayonnaise, walnuts, grapes, but it was the WATERGATE Salad that had the Pistachio pudding, marshmallows and Pineapples- and maybe some cottage cheese to make it “healthy”! You might use the blocks to make raised beds. They don't rot and don't weep things that you don't want in your food. Also, make sure to make a drawing of where you place the different utility lines on the "40" so that you will not have to go by memory only as to where they are. 🙋♀️I clean houses for my living, and have cleaned many different types of counter tops, my two favorites are Quartz, man made Sila Stone, or natural quartz slabs (non porous, so won't stain from foods like tomatoe sause, or wine). Corian is my other favorite, but not with the built in sinks(problems with small cracks around drains, which then stain). You may love the l👁👁k of marble Jason but DON'T let it's beauty fool you, stains SUPER easily, so NEVER use it in kitchens or bathrooms!!! Also, granite is also porous, and will stain( many folks got on the granite bandwagon several years ago, along with shiny stainless steel appliances 🤦♀️)

Casserole is a much better word than congealed.....sounds like my grandma's jello salad that she called ambrosia. All these words are not at all descriptive of the ingredients, and that just cracks me up! Check out Gardening with Leon for his self wicking tubs that he gardens with. He uses old livestock mineral tubs, and puts segments of corrugated pipe in the bottom with landscape fabric over them and dirt on top of that with a PVC pipe to fill the reservoir. The system is so cool, and you mentioned that water was a big issue on the 40, and this might be an interesting solution.

Good morning Jason and Brooke! Its so nice to have a Sunday podcast from Cog Hill. Mary Carl I love jellied cranberry on my turkey sandwich with dressing, In fact I can't eat turkey without cranberry. Brooke, your smile goes ear to ear when you talk about Moody. I am so happy that Moody is happy and he is thriving, he gets good food but lots of cuddle and love from Brooke and Jason! Nugget, Peaches and Moody are loving their new farm. Thank you for another great podcast, you made my Sunday perfect! Have a great week head, stay well and safe! ❤🙏❤ puppy kisses to All the pups!💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋

I used dried cranberries with the juice of one orange and zest of orange combined with small pat of butter and 2 tsp of sugar to make a sauce for our brussell sprouts. It was sooo good, we may never eat them any other way. My husband and I really enjoy your podcast as well as the homestead videos. We loved the one when you went to get Moody. I thought my hubby was going to bust a gut laughing when Brooke held out the halter and expected Moody to put his head in it. On the trip to the 40 someone asked is he buck"in? We both were laughing so very hard, almost as hard as when Jason cleaned out the old rat nest from the Airstream. Thank you for making our retirement a joy as we follow your adventures. God bless you. The Bloomers

my son used to say he didn't like casseroles too, so one day I said to him, so you don't like lasagna? you don't like Sheperd's pie? He admitted he did like those and was surprised they are casseroles. Turns out what he meant was he hated tuna noodle casserole and I am with him on that.

I miss the hydrangea that y'all had planted. Hopefully y'all will plant some more in the future and they will look as good as they did at the old cog Hill. 🇺🇸

It looks amazing at the new farm!! I didn’t think I would like it as much but I love it now. So much space for all the animals. It’s there comfort that matters not how it looks. Even though it looks amazing.

Once Granny showed me how to make cranberry sauce I never looked back. I love the homemade. It only takes 5 minutes. I once again enjoyed Mail Call at the Cog Hill 40.
