the fact that Loki decided to go back to where he talked to Mobius for the first time is kinda poetic and beautiful for me.
@alexanderthealright Жыл бұрын
It just drives home what we kinda already know, that Mobius has always been THAT guy. As empathetic as they come, always willing to listen and give an honest answer from the heart. And for Loki, at this point the only thing he still needed to make his choice was good advice from his best friend.
@fawnebrown4619 Жыл бұрын
In that last conversation with Mobius, Loki rewrote that part where he refused to shake Mobius' hand back in the very first episode. This time he extended his hand to Mobius. Maybe as a way of saying goodbye to him and thank him for being his friend and supporting him every step of the way to get him to this point.

Honestly, not even speaking as a shipper, I really feel like they could've had Loki hold some feelings for Mobius in this show. But unfortunately Marvel are kinda too cowardly to do that, I guess, even though they confirmed Loki's bisexuality and ended his relationship with Sylvie early on.

I'm really baffled by the fact that they really did such a bittersweet ending and I loved it! Loki always wanted to be a king and to have a glourious purpose and when he finaly let that go he was forced to take a throne he didn't want and doomed to be alone for all eternity for the sake of an infinite amount of people. In a way when Sif said that he would always be sad and alone that was kinda prophetic, the whole story coming full circle. I loved that they gave the new timeline a tree shape just like norse mythology.

I think there is a bit of a misunderstanding here. First, the Loki here is much more powerful than the one killed by Thanos, not only does he now have the mental understanding and knowledge of all space and time, but he can now CONTROL all space and time. Thanos basically can't touch Loki if he doesn't want him too. Loki is literally holding all of the multiverse together with his magic alone. He is also outside of time, so technically he can sit there forever and never tire, except perhaps mentally. He picked the harder route which actually takes out HWR at the same time. The only reason HWR thought that his plan was infallible was because if the war happens, he ends back there eventually, or Loki kills Sylvie and he stays alive. He didn't expect Loki to pick the 3rd option, which was to never come back to stop Sylvie, to destroy the Loom AND to take HWR place, but doing a better job than he ever did. HWR only wanted to save the sacred timeline, his own timeline, and didn't care about any of the others. Loki was able to save all the timelines and allow even more to be created.

@@hellcatbigrude8890 Well she didn't come up with the realization of replacing the loom/HWR, Loki did. Sylvie was there as a plot point to say that HWR should not be up there at any cost because he's just a dictator who prunes timelines again and again. It's not just about her not wanting to die, it's about her need to kill HWR because of freedom. But at the end of the day, Loki was the one who weaved all the lessons that he learned together and just made the decision to replace HWR, regardless if Sylvie wants to do it herself or not. She's the rebel/revolutionist of the story. Doesn't mean she had to be the leader of the new era.

It’s interesting Adorkable is upset at Sylvie for “not doing everything she could” when she did do everything she could, but is also equally upset at her for doing anything at all. Sylvie KNEW without the loom everyone was dead. Loki KNEW that the loom protected from incursions that would destroy them all BUT that the loom didn’t technically protect the timelines themselves. A variant of Sylvie KNEW this because Loki told her moments before she died when Loki needed to have philosophical discussions with his friends at the end. So, Sylvie didn’t know to destroy the loom and thus wouldn’t. Sylvie had been tortured her entire life by pursuit and wanted freedom and revenge. The revenge was definitely a problem. He Who Remained needed to be stopped (at the time) but she also wanted satisfaction. In the end she stopped him but got no satisfaction. She didn’t know she wouldn’t until after it happened, and she didn’t feel the morality of killing him until after she saw Timely juxtaposed into her position. Sylvie KNEW that killing him would save everyone. Then later she KNEW killing him was mute and ultimately destroyed everything except the Sacred Timeline. Sylvie wouldn’t help Loki gather people after the TVA was destroyed because the timelines were free and the people were free and she didn’t want to torture them they way she was tortured. She didn’t know that the branches were all dying and they were fated to die. No one did at the time. She only knew that they needed to save the loom moments before they all died when it was too late. Loki wanted to save his friends, not be lonely, and stop He Who Remains Variants. He didn’t know the branches were dying until moments before everyone died. Sylvie had the Master TemPad which we saw could cause the user to time slip even in the Null-Time Zone and do things the regular TemPads could not, but I don’t think she knew how to do those things with it. Loki somehow gained the ability to act like the Master TemPad with a thought. Not even He Who Remains seemed able to do that- he used the Master TemPad. In the end, I think this was all a knowledge game and only He Who Remains and Loki, having both spent a lot of time outside of normal time, had gained the true knowledge to know how to truly change anything. And I think only Loki had the capability to effect real change. In fact, I now think this was all He Who Remain’s plan and story in the first place. I think everything he said in episode 6 was true except when he said he no longer had any clue how things were going to go once a threshold had been crossed. I think that last part was the lie that triggered the journey down this final path. He said either he’s replaced or he’ll ultimately end up back on the throne. He also said he was okay with being replaced because he was tired of doing it. He also said he had to make them go through what they did before getting there so that they would be changed by the journey. Something about the encounter at the citadel gave or awoken Loki’s temporal powers. His journey made Loki more empathetic and gave him knowledge that no one else knew by using his new powers. Sylvie’s journey made her desperately want freedom for herself then all and made her impossibly stubborn. Yeah the stubbornness was a pain at times. But, that desire and stubbornness convinced Loki to use his power to replace He Who Remains once he had the knowledge how to do so. Plus Loki learned from Mobius who learned from Renslayer the bitter truth of burden. I think He Who Remains orchestrated his replacement to end his own burden by giving it to someone else. It took two. One with the ability and one with that drive. Anyway I loved the Loki series. It’s been one of the best things I’ve seen in a while. I know Loki’s story is concluded, but I really hope we get a cameo or two in upcoming shows or movies because I selfishly don’t want to say goodbye yet. :) These are my two cents; your opinion may vary.

The first part doesn’t make sense as they don’t contradict. She is upset she did nothing at all which by definition means she didn’t do everything she could. The foundation of the criticism was not correct so I stopped. Adorkable hasn’t really explained much on why she dont like her. She just makes remarks to scenes and keeps the rest to herself. You’re welcome to have a take but we dont have a documented full take on KZbin for how adorkable thinks. Most people don’t watch the full video of our reactions
@DavidRomigJr Жыл бұрын
I did listen through the whole video on this one. You three often have interesting takes on things. I admit I don’t always watch all videos all the way through- that can depend on my mood at the time. Adorkable was saying at the end about how she was upset that Sylvie didn’t do more. I think she was suggesting she could have destroyed the loom, but she didn’t know that was an option. She did everything she could at the time to help what she knew about, though that included things we didn’t like at the time, like I believe it was last episode Adorkable didn’t like that Sylvie wouldn’t help get the band back together but she was doing that to protect them. Only the viewers could see things were disappearing until it happened right in front of Sylvie which immediately put her on board and then Adorkable was saying something like oh now she’ll help and how it’s her fault that she hadn’t before. I mean it was a clear contraction to me so I was drumming up discussion. You are free to disagree with the conclusions I came to. It’s nothing against Adorkable or any of you. I just thought it was interesting. She certainly indicated reasons she didn’t like Sylvie over the course of the series. It looks like she didn’t like some of Sylvie’s earlier actions and Sylvie never did enough to redeem herself in Adorkable’s eyes which is fair enough. Sylvie was usually abrasive. I’m not sure what you meant by “stopped”. I guess that means you stopped reading? That’s a shame since most of the comment was about how I think He Who Remains manipulated Loki into taking his place on purpose to unload his burden on to someone else, how everyone was manipulated, and it was a fascinating game of knowledge and who knows what. If nothing else, the series was some great story telling. I guess sometimes people don’t read the full comment. But, I know I tend to write too long and over explain especially when I’m excited and long comments usually aren’t fun. Anyway, your videos have some strong opinions and I wouldn’t be watching them if they didn’t. They are good videos.

Sylvie wasn't doing everything she could. She killed he who remains, knowing it was going to start destroying things based on what Kang said. Then she went gallivanting off to a branching timeline working at McDonalds while Loki was running around like a chicken with his head cut off trying to figure out a way to fight the Kangs, and then at the very least save the TVA from being destroyed once it was happening. Anytime Loki went to her to ask for help she just said nope I'm not helping, yelled at them for being incompetent at trying to do something impossible. Only when her timeline was destroyed did she come to actually help. Even though she a bit tough, I really did like her character last season. This time she was just annoying me every time acting like Loki was doing this on purpose. She caused this to happen, and then did nothing to help with the destruction she caused initially whether it was a good thing for the world or not. It doesn't matter whether she knew anything or not, she only came to help once her little slice of apple pie life was ruined. I guess she's used to destruction so she didn't care what happened, but then got mad at Mobius for supposedly not caring which made no sense. Anyway I feel like they could have done better with her character this season. Not even talking about their relationship at all, and her acting like she wanted nothing to do with Loki really irked me as well, she literally told him to go live his own life.

Love this reaction. I just realised He Who Remains was right when he said the loom prevents a brutal war where nothing survives, cause the moment Loki destroyed the loom all the branches died, so he had to sustain it himself so all the branches could live. Hate that Loki had to end up alone, but his sacrifice is so epic. Sylvie still has a lot of character growth to do though, yes she did say they needed to tear down but never did anything to help re-build, she's still a very selfish character who only states problems but never willing to sacrifice to give solutions.

My take on it is that the timelines are all dying after destroying the loom because that's the conclusion to the Multiversal war without he who remains taking over. By Loki taking over, he injects his magic of "mischief", changing the timelines; changing the equation in the multiverse allowing future MCU stories a way forward to possibly ending the multiversal war otherwise.

@YaBoyRockLee Reactions, 5:15 This was a great moment for so many reasons, but I think this also made Loki's decision at the end so much easier. Sif cursed him, telling him that he would always be alone in season one, and while true, Loki did get spend centuries with his friends, which is a hell of a lot more than any of us will ever be able to do. 5:45 This is a nice callback, 3:34, lol. I think many missed this be cause of the comedy and just everything going on in this moment. 7:10 He's failed so many times, so he's learned not to get his hopes up until they've actually done it--they aren't at the point where Victor put the Throughput Multiplier on the ground and let it roll off yet, lol. 9:14 Loki touched Mobius, he caught him actually, in episode one and he wore the exact same type of suit, remember? The room that Victor was in is a decontamination room, it has two sets of doors, and he had to go through them before being able to rejoin everyone else, so he's good. 10:16 while it seems like a waste of time, it wasn't. Loki really bonded with everyone in that room, his closest friends, every one of them. 11:34 This is why Sylvie was pruned as a little girl. This moment is her Nexus Event, her Canon Event. The story Mobius tells later will make Ravonna's mission with Sylvie make sense. Mobius and Ravonna were charged with doing Minority Report type pruning, pruning people before the terrible things that they will absolutely do. Freewill does not exist in this point in the story because freewill creates Branched Timelines, and the loom can't handle that. That's an equation HWR was never able to solve, and this is why the TVA was charged with erasing Nexus Events, as it was the only way HWR knew how to save all of time. Many think Kang is an evil man out to conquer time because of his title and comics, but the story we've seen saw otherwise. He erased his variants from existence because they brought ruin to the Multiverse, and he removed himself from time so that he could watch over it and protect it from himself. HWR has been at this for a very long time and despite his vast knowledge and time he's spent on the Multiverse equation, the problem that are Branched Timelines are something no human could ever solve, and that's probably why he sought out Loki. 11:51 if he wants the human solution, yes, but Loki has already made up his mine, and he knows what he wants. He wants a future with his friends in it, and Sylvie is one of five. 15:51 No, that's what HWR wants Loki to do because that's what he charged the TVA to do. Sylvie, being a Loki, was successful at eluding them. Loki could have killed Sylvie so many times, but that isn't what he wants to do. Loki bought into to what HWR's was selling in season one, but he doesn't like his options. Loki has been looking for better ones since he wanted a minute to think, which is what he told Mobius in the first episode of this season. 16:42 because time is a loop. HWR has been at this for millions of years and he wants to end this cycle. He sought out Loki remember? Loki is something he's never tried before. 16:54 and this is likely why HWR chose him. Loki was born to be the God of Stories, not the god of mischief. 17:14 this is that story I was talking about, the Minority Report one. While this is a story about someone else, this explains why Ravonna and her new team went after Sylvie even though she hadn't yet done anything. They were trying to stop the moment we saw her do during the season one finale. Season Two has been all about fixing that Nexus Event, and it cannot be fixed with human means--the loom was never going to work because it's a human solution. 18:34 because it didn't really happen? Loki wanted perspective and the person that could give it to him was Mobius. Loki wanted to preserve the Loki he bounded with, so it was necessary to let this reality that never happened fade away. The same is true with the next scene with Sylvie. When you think about it, Loki is Mobius in this moment and HWR is Ravonna. Loki knows what needs to be done, but can't do it. HWR knows what needs to be done and wouldn't hesitate because he's thinking about the greater good, he's always thought about the greater good. 18:50 Loki could do this an infinite number of times if he wanted, but he doesn't need to. He knows what he wants and he's seeking advice on how to go about it. And while he likely concluded that HWR was in fact right after his talk with Mobius, he wanted to discuss it with Sylvie one last time because she's important to him and she's his friend too. 19:12 He can't stop what's already happened. If it were possible to keep this version of Sylvie while getting rid of the previous one, he probably would have done that, but you can't separate them, as they are the same person. Sylvie never got to live a normal life. When everyone else around Loki gave up on him, who didn't? Thor! Everyone has given up on Sylvie, but not Loki. The choice he makes is a compromise, it protects the people HWR always protected, but also protects the people HWR deemed had to go because Loki, as the God of Stories, can do both! Time for him to claim is thrown and be King. 19:57 That was planned =) 20:23 These are the doors that keep everyone upstairs safe and that's the room that clears contaminations before opening those doors again. 21:20 He told HWR that he'd break his loom, and he meant it. 21:30 Loki broke the loom and untethered the Sacred Timeline, the Multiverse, and all the Branched Timelines free. 22:16 Loki pulled back the veil and revealed the Citadel at the End of Time. The loom was always set between the TVA and the citadel. 24:18 Loki isn't on any Timeline so, yes, he's infinite. He's the God of Stories and he has the ability to change them and you'll see with the rewrites he gave his friends: 1) B15 gets to oversee the rebirth of the TVA 2) OB published a second edition of the TVA, which everyone WILL read 3) Casey is part of the War Room council, given a job of importance 4) Mobius' story isn't the sad one we saw just an episode ago. He and his boys were bonding and looked happy--his home also has just one personal watercraft. Mobius now has a choice to make, experience the good life he was afraid to learn that he had or fight to save it. 5) Loki rewound Victor's story, put him back to the moment before Ravonna and Miss Minutes put him on a path he wasn't meant to be on. 6) Ravonna and the old TVA emblem were sent to the void, where we here Alioth come back on line, yikes! Out with the old, and in with the new. 7) if you look at the people in the War Room, you'll notice that D90, the guy Brad pruned, is there. 8) we don't see Brad at the TVA or in the void, but it's probably safe to say that Loki didn't hold any grudges and let Brad live out his life on his timeline. The last few minutes of this story showed us how Loki already rewrote the story, which makes me wonder what other stories he'll rewrite! Will he bring back Phil Coulson? What about his mother, Frigga? The return of these two people would be huge changes for the two phases. If Coulson didn't die in phase two, Maria Might not have died in Secret Wars, and the same is probably true for Soren and Talso. If Frigga didn't die in Dark World, Odin wouldn't have died and Hela would still be imprisoned. With Odin still alive, Thanos never would have gotten the Infinity Stones as Heimdall would have seen him coming and Odin with the Odin Force and his army would have stopped him before he even had two stones. If Thanos never got the Infinity Stones, Gamora and Black Widow never would have died...the same goes for Tony and Vision too. Steve wouldn't have the means to go back and be with Peggy, so he'd still be a man out of time. The future of the MCU can be something we never saw coming. Will Marvel pull that trigger? Maybe that trigger's already been pulled.

People forget that Sylvie is a Loki. Most Lokis are narcissistic and selfish. Sylvie has all the traits of a Loki, but she never had the time to become a villain or to grow as a person. She always been hunted. Her mind is only focused on freedom and her life. She doesn't trust He Who Remains or the TVA, so she never believed them. And if Loki is speaking the same words as them, Sylvie won't believe him either. Don't also forget that our Loki was a way more horrible person than Sylvie and was a complete liar and manipulator. We are just too focused on Loki's point of view because he's the MC and had character development.
@tenjenk10 ай бұрын
plus the arguement that "you're not free but you live" doesnt work here because He Who Remains literally kills everyone and every universe which isnt part of the sacred timeline. Thats an actual nightmare. Thats the trillions who died in the TVA bombings happening every day forever. Thats the sacred timeline, a paltry few who get to live, never being free.

This got me wondering who Lokis bio mom was. HWR’s scenario allowed Loki to develop mad powers, but the powers himself seem way over an asgardians powers. I loved this story. So many analogies to my own faith…a god who sacrifices himself unselfishly out of love, and pours his own life into us to keep us alive. Crap! True Myth. Just amazing. This was a Great Story. Way over a comic book tale (as fun as that is). Just beautiful and all the parts fit perfectly. And HWR was an evil born of pride, who offered a false choice between evils. Loki (because he loved his friends) saw through that and saw another solution using the greater power of love and humility. Just amazing.

The TVA will probably now be responsible for not only the Kang variants but for ensuring no one timeline or person gets out of control and starts effecting the others. @@SolitaryLark I feel as if her character had little to no growth during the entire series. She was just as vengeful at the end as she was from the beginning, even through everything she and Loki had gone through. Granted, she had every reason to be upset, bring pruned as a little girl and had to live her life on the run. I’m not discounting that. But even Loki, after finding out that he was ALWAYS doomed to “fail” and served no other purpose(so we thought) but to elevate actual heroes, still carved his own path and found his extremely glorious purpose. Sure you can take into account Sylvie allowing Victor Timely to live as some sort of growth. Fair. But even at the very end with her final talk with Loki, she STILL had the intention and burning desire to kill He Who Remains if Loki hadn’t found another way. Her character never changed. And if it did, it reverted back to the original. She couldn’t let that go and made dumb decisions because of it and had the audacity to wander around the end scott free. I like her character, but she has no arc. But maybe it’s my fault for not accepting that some characters just don’t grow, not in the way we want or expect.

Loki is not alone because he sees and hear everything in the multiverse. Loki is powering the multiverse if he lets go the multiverse dies.. Two Loki is outside of time and space so he can’t get old and die if that was the cars He Who Remains would’ve been died. And time moves differently outside of time and space and he’s a god, when he got killed by Thanos he was inside of time. But she is right about Sylvie because she is the one that started all of this but she wasn’t willing to make the sacrifice so people can have a fighting chance that’s the part I didn’t like at all!! And Sylvie don’t understand how powerful Kang really is that’s why He Who Remains did what he did to keep his variants from coming bacc!!!!
@phoearwenien4355 Жыл бұрын
I wish they wrote Sylvie better. Loki's decision would have been more impactful if people didn't dislike her to the point of whatever, just kill her. After the event at the citadel she didn't care and was absent, only showing up when she needed something. So why others should make sacrificies? I get the conflict, she was right in a way, but it fell flat to a lot of people and that's a bummer.
@NoctilucaBloom Жыл бұрын
It's funny that some people acted as if her being a romantic interest in s1 was reductive to her character, while in my personal opinion, outside of her relationship with Loki she was still very complex and compelling. It wasn't the romance that drove her character, but it did help explore her more vulnerable side, seeing how guarded an individual she was. Romance was more a driving force for Loki's journey, and he could afford that as a well-established character. For whatever reason, in s2 the writers decided to remove the romance to the point it became subtext entirely. And in doing so, they also sidelined Sylvie. I didn't at all feel like s1 writers were reducing her to a romantic interest, but it certainly felt like that was what the s2 script did. She doesn't get an arc this season, but there was good bits of development until the end of ep4: like how she spared Victor and Ravonna, how she came back to TVA, how she trusted Loki's "hope" and was working with him. We got glimpses of their s1 dynamic until loom's explosion ruined everything. In last two episodes, all the characters except Loki were static, because the two episodes didn't happen for anyone else.
@Velociraptour Жыл бұрын
I don't remember who said it, but supposedly you need to explain a concept 3 times in a screenplay for people to get it. What HWR is basically offering is only the Sacred Timeline gets to live if Sylvie dies, but some people seem to miss that Loki's friends would be back under HWR's thumb and pruning branches. Maybe it's because they put the explanation in the middle of a scene where some people would be too hyped to pay attention and never reiterated it again.
@NoctilucaBloom Жыл бұрын
@@Velociraptour I think most people understand that, it's just that HWR posed it as an impossible to change equation. Either loom failsafe succeeds past HWR's death and does his job for him, or Loki kills Sylvie and does HWR's job for him/with him. HWR didn't account for what Loki did at the end, because he was technically right that loom's destruction would destroy all multiverse. Loki just had to replace it with something. (I'm not really buying this because time existed before the loom and TVA, what were the timelines originally like?). People who still think Loki should've killed Sylvie by the end don't care for the regression it would mean for his character. And yeah, a few just weren't paying attention lol
@Daggerom Жыл бұрын
@@NoctilucaBloom Multiverse died at that moment because as they were outside of time, they see all those branches from almost a 4th dimension, all time was happening from big bang to big crunch, so it started to die because all Kangs caused another multiversal war that wiped everything, so as outsiders of time they could physically visualize it

Honestly not suprise that Slyvie is selfish, she is a Loki variant. Lokis are consistantly shown and confirmed to be selfish, self serving, overly-emotional, irrational and prone to some pretty terrifying temper tantrums (Loki's reponse to being adopted is blowing up a planet in Thor 1). Its just that since Slyvie wasn't raised as an Asgardian God or leading an alien invasion it doesn't seem as 'obvious' as our Loki and her enemy is the TVA which is the antagonist of Season 1. But in Season 2 it shows up very clear when she obstruct Loki out of sheer hatred against the TVA even telling Loki that she would rather let the timelines die out than not kill HWR out of sheer spite, oh she might try to sugercoat it with buzzwords like 'free will and die fighting' but in the end she is basically deciding that literally countless innocent people to die. Which is, again, in-character, since her first scene all the way back in Season 1 is setting off hundreds of timelinereset charges just to kill off some hunters.

@GodKnowsWhatIsInHere Жыл бұрын
He Who Remains is to blame. He manipulated everything that happened with Loki, including the timeslipping. He manipulated the TVA and the temporal loom. He also manipulated Sylvie's life so she'd always try to kill him at the end of time. He's literally the only person at fault here. No one had free will until Loki eventually granted it to them.
@NoctilucaBloom Жыл бұрын
See, this is why I blame the writing for this part, because the episodes were constructed in a way that the Sylvie Loki ends up leaving behind in the loom lacks all context. The convo in OB's workshop and at the bar never happened for her. She doesn't know Loki's worst fear is being alone, she doesn't know that Loki's other alternative was to kill her. He also didn't give her a choice to take on some of the burden. He decided he had to destroy the loom, and didn't let anyone stop him. Blaming Sylvie is pointless: she was shown to be stubborn and aggressive, but every point she made was equally as valid as Loki's.

She also didn't know, but before he went out to the loom, he was answering both of the questions she asked him in the future (what do you really want? Is that really the kind of god you want to be?) And sue me, I still don't get why the branches die without the loom, when that would've been the natural state of things. Time existed before HWR, before TVA and loom. How did it use to work? Can Loki stabilize Yggdrasil and eventually be relieved of his burden, even if it takes a LONG time?
