Sadly these prices ain’t wrong. And some clown is working the drive through line making 24 a hour and we getting burnt and dirty… come to think of it maybe I’m the clown.

If your weld is good enough for an employer to keep you on as an employee, than it’s worth no less than 18 an hour regardless of simplicity. For 14-16 $ an hr, I would not see any incentive to improve… Also, mig welding is the most common welding process, but, you (welding academy instructor) don’t believe any of them should make more than 20 an hour. Future welders, there it is, when you are told the statement, “welders make a lot of money” don’t fall for it. Only certain welding industries or processes at certain locations, actually pay well, and very few to none make the fabled 100k a year without overtime. This instructor put at least 1/3 of all hand welders below 20$ an hour just because of the process used.
