Very cool fellas.. one of the guys who checked out the original IMV Films feature length picture back in 200x when it was on the big screen in Gainesville. to the venerable Sav, and the rest... glad to see no one has spent any serious time behind bars. It is a testament to meticulous maintenance that the BlackCar still moves... well done Sav.

I bought a dusty ol repo and she started right up after at least 2 years... V3 on SD and E85, 6266, built head and block, 38psi. About to give her the fine-toothin' and see if I can lay down anything near the alleged 670hp she had.

Thanks man! With the 2G MAF, 720cc's + SAFC using VP C16 or Unocal 110 MON, it went 11.76@123 once way back in 2001~2003 on bald (read: light) 40 series 17s, ideal track conditions, and the OEM HG that didn't leak badly then. MAF signal was scaled way negative using only seat of the pants street tuning, which required constant daily adjustments and tuning pulls outside the track. In this recent video it's on wider EVO8 wheels and new big tires which probably account for more rotational weight, and it was on 1600cc's with ~ E70 or so. The AEM probably made it much more consistent and safe, so it probably made a bit more consistent power to offset the overall weight and motor age differences. Still fairly close though!

What did you use for transmission

Tried 2 variations of a stock-style "built" 5 speed from Buschur Racing and then B&M Performance. Ended up with a new 1994 spec Mitsubishi 5 speed from a dealer. At this power level the best luck was using a Road Race Engineering lightened stock flywheel stepped to .610 ~ .615, ACT 2600 and "thin marcel" full face sprung ACT disk. I wish I'd just bought a Shep Racing Stage 4 synchro box and a better clutch if I made more power. I think you can find more modern solutions (or dogbox) through ShepRacing (if he will touch DSMs - usually busy on GTRs) but also try: Mike Rizz: facebook.com/RizzottiRacing or of course Boostin Performance

Sonic Blue Cobra was sold way back; it's in Michigan now, TT + Auto. White Supra unfortunately was hit by a drunk college girl while parked at its apartment, and the 2J motor was salvaged by Conte at Real Street.

You may be thinking of the mid-2000s-obtained 1990 Rally Talon, which was dark blue. This is most definitely a Black 1991; I bought it bone stock in 1993 with 24k miles.
