What Buffets Are Like Amid Covid @ North America's Largest Indian Buffet | Tandoori Flame

Will buffets ever be the same again after covid-19? Well, I intend to find out.
Being on the west coast of Canada, in Vancouver British Columbia, things have been tapering off here with the spread relatively in control; we are beginning to gradually expand our social circles, and businesses, including restaurants, are beginning to open up! I can't wait to take this opportunity to, once again, visit North America's largest Indian buffet which happens to be in my neighbourhood.
I'm at the Tandoori Flame restaurant and am very curious to see how buffets will be like in this covid-19 era. Hopefully it will be the same great food with the same great servers and hosts, but with an abundance of care and cleanliness. Very excited to experience a dinner out after this long isolation, and very happy that you can join me.
As of writing this, Las Vegas has reopened, and I can't wait to see how things turn out there. If the Tandoori Flame is a proxy of what there is to come with buffets, then Vegas should be back to normal (safe and sound) in no time 🙂. With the Wynn Buffet opening up shortly, I suspect they will be doing something similar.

Hi Tim. I’ve missed you and those awesome buffets you used to do before the dreaded COVID 19. I viewed this Indian Buffet and you did an awesome job covering the changes now required. I like the idea of the masks required for everyone. I was impressed with the friendliness of all the servers. I’m from Modesto, CA and we only have two main buffets in the area. That being Golden Corral and Hometown Buffet. My son and I have been doing Keto for 3 years and we do okay at the buffets providing we do our research ahead of time. That means no sweets, pastries, dairy, and no deserts. Most of everything else we can have. Haven’t been to them yet but maybe we’ll go back just because I’m curious. Once again, thank you for always doing a professional show as always.

As much as it is about the re-opening, giving peace of mind to the customers is as important and I think in our areas, that was recognized. Would be interesting to see how Vegas is doing. Nevada reported its highest daily increase of 379 new cases on Tuesday, replacing a previous record of 295 new confirmed infections from May 22. The majority of the new cases are from Clark County, where Las Vegas is located, which accounted for 342 of Tuesday’s new infections, the county’s own highest daily increase.

I just hope if things escalate beyond a certain point that places will start isolating as needed. Even here in my local community, our cases and numbers are low but there is a very real danger of becoming too complacent and having a climb in cases.... our daily briefing from our local head doctor keeps everyone up to date with any new cases and that very important reminder of continued alertness

This is a good work-around for the buffet concept but part of the draw of buffets for me is the absolute gluttonous nature of it. Now it's going to be hard to hide my shame when the server is getting all my food for me, haha! Thanks for the great video Tim!

Your presentation of all dishes you try is womderful..and the joy in your face as you take that first bite is bliss. Indian food is one of my top five favorite cuisines..the love and care put into their creations is something to behold. @@TimLeeLetsGo I'm from Sheffield so quite away from London where the main protests are, but it's still sad to see what happened yesterday with the counter protests. #BLM I cant wait to go go Kommune which is a food hall in my home town, the fried dumplings are amazing, korean fried chicken, fat hippo-burgers. It's all good!

Tim Lee I’m in Oregon, USA. They have reopened a lot of businesses but since reopening our state has seen a rise in COVID-19 cases. They are realizing that they opened too soon and will have to shut things down again.

I had my first Indian in months last Saturday night though it was a takeaway,.(I'm in the Uk and we can only takeaway or get deliveries at the moment.) I'm not sure if I could handle the masks at a buffet so I may wait,hopefully this virus will die out soon. Great to see you back Tim!
