I just saw The Selecter last summer at Wembley Stadium 🏟. They & Paul Weller opened for Blur. 3 Minute Hero & On The Radio my favorite tracks. Need to check-out The Honorary Title.

ah thats excellent david. sounds like a great lineup.

“Bridge And Tunnel” is also how I discovered The Honorary Title (thanks to the way cool music video), and that album is really great. (By coincidence, I also discovered Holy Ghost! because of their song “Bridge And Tunnel”.) I also have that Human Sexual Response album on vinyl. I bought it shortly after a coworker put “Jackie Onassis” and “Cool Jerk” on a mixtape that she made for me. (I didn’t tell her this, but those were the only good songs she put on the mixtape.)

I swear to god I saw you hold up a record , I think I will have to watch this again. Maybe it was a 12” CD. Records are going 3” so why not a 12” CD
@STEVEHEROLD4 ай бұрын
you must not have been paying attention steve i only collect 10” CDs that are first Norwegian pressings on color vinyl with etchings on one side and come in gatefold jewel cases shipped in longboxes.

Steve, you’re the King of obscure music. I wish that I could be that brave, but I don’t have the space, even though I have a ton of music in my collection.
@STEVEHEROLD4 ай бұрын
yeh i hear ya about space. im trying my best this year to keep my purchases to a minimum. was easy until i got down here for work.

I have been thinking about picking up some Selector for some time. I do like that Flesh For Lulu album. I've had it for some time and just recently picked up another one but haven't had the chance to listen to it yet. You showed several bands that are new to me.
@STEVEHEROLD4 ай бұрын
hey randy. yeh flesh for lulu is pretty good. selecter is pretty good. not sure i meed to dive any deeper. this comp seems like its basically most of first album and few from 2nd. hope ya check out some of those other bands. thanks for tuning in dude.

Ooh - love the new beginning from Charleston SC. Wow that was a big mail day - forget your holding off. I have no Selector, but in a comp or two. The rest, I have none and many I've never heard of them - I'm feeling old Steve.. Enjoy and welcome back to the buying spree. PS - where's the Sticky Fingers you ordered....lol

@@STEVEHEROLD I just watched the interview - the whole hour straight. That was AWESOME. You're a great interviewee, but I knew that already - but that was great - really fast hour.. I love Catholic Boy - have the CD but bought the vinyl when it came out and saw him live back then. Remember him on the TV show Fridays as well. Neat to hear you have your videos shot and scheduled. That's your TV background I guess. So cool. You know I shoot live and post immediately, no edits....real high budget...lol. What you said about us collectors and your friend coming over and don't judge your CD collection is so true. None of my friends have any physical media anymore. No records, CDs, or stereos. And when they come visit me, they think I'm seriously ill with my collections. They haven't been to a record store in decades and don't understand why I want to go. Us collectors are kind of loners. So nice to have "friends" in the community so we don't feel so on the outside. Thanks for the mentions too - that was fun. Best, Alan

'The Mind Of The Music Collector,' that was a great interview! The time flew by and it was absolutely hilarious. Thanks for the shout out ( not bad for a guy who doesn't have a channel.) I've heard a few of those stories before but not the Club Paradise one. That's a keeper. I should fill you in on the TarrTruck moniker I use. I used to work for a chemical company from 2007-2020 called TarrLLC as a Hazmat delivery driver. They gave us company phones (flip phones in the beginning) for business and personal use. That was my contact name. When I retired in 2020 (Covid decision) I got my own phone and kept the name for some bizarre reason. Still don't know why I did that. I think you should do more Podcasts, it works well for you!
@STEVEHEROLD4 ай бұрын
@@tarrtruck2869 Behind The Music: TarrTruck now we know the truth! hahah. its a good moniker. Appreciate ya tuning in. I’ve been on a handful of podcasts over the years. I think others are mostly about movie stuff (my films or other.)
@tarrtruck28694 ай бұрын
@@STEVEHEROLD Yeah, I've seen a few interviews you've done with film festivals and film in general I think on jointfilms but I think I've only seen one other about music or CD/Record collecting. You should do more.
@STEVEHEROLD4 ай бұрын
@@tarrtruck2869 i would but honestly i think most of them prefer to talk only vinyl and i think most people who see me think im one of the CD people that a lotta vinyl people seem to loathe. haha. oh well.
