One thing you don't do with the xreal beam is put it in your pocket it has a fan to dissipate heat the fan is located at the power button

Seems to have some limitations for Windows users (most people!) … but incredibly promising AR at last! I will keep a close eye on this product. I suspect version 2 with nebula out of beta will be the first mass take up for AR, and shipping outside the US!

Took me forever to find direct to the point information on how to connect this wired to windows. And that tip to run at 120hz was the cherry on the top. Thank you! Can the glasses be connected to the pc, wired, through the beam? Or just wirelessly?
@ErikHartley7 ай бұрын
You can connect via USB-C to USB-C or USB-C to HDMi cable to the PC via wired connection using the Beam.

Hi, I have a couple of questions regarding the beam. First, does it support extending a screen and adjusting the size? For instance, can I use it to set up a second screen to the side of my laptop's main view or make it full screen? Secondly, I've noticed that my laptop struggles with the Nebula app, and the performance is quite jerky.
@ErikHartley Жыл бұрын
You can either set the screen to extended or mirrored on the Beam, much like when you plug in a real second display.

Is it true that the virtual screens are blurry at the edges, making it difficult to read at those areas?
@ErikHartley9 ай бұрын
It depends on the eyes of the user. In my case I don't see blurry edges. I believe this may be due to the glasses not having a means to adjust interpupilary distance. My IPD is pretty average and I don't see blur but others I have demonstrated the glasses to or who have used them have reported the blur.
@SebaZero9 ай бұрын
Well, then the ideal would be to find a store where they allow you to test before you buy. Thank you.

I try to change to the 120hz like u say but mine didn't change, could it be because u have the access to the nebula for windows beta?
@ErikHartley Жыл бұрын
Do you have the latest Android version of Nebula or are you only using the Windows Nebula? The updated functionality seems to only be pushed to the glasses when you plug it in to an Android device with the latest version of Nebula (3.4.0) and then would be accessible in the other modes with other devices.
@melkok8058 Жыл бұрын
@@ErikHartley Interesting. Are you saying that we have to first download Nebula in our Android Device first, then only connect to other devices?

So the beam doesnt allow for multiple displays? Even on the new air 2/2 pro?
@ErikHartley Жыл бұрын
At the current time, the Beam does not allow for multiple displays, just the smooth follow, body anchor and sideview single screen modes. Air/Air 2/Air 2 Pro does not make a difference regarding functionality in the Beam.

By any chance, do you know if when the Beta for the virtual desktop stops, would you have to buy a newer version of the product? Or can I buy now and it'll update the software with all the neat features when the XReal software finalizes?
@ErikHartley Жыл бұрын
You shouldn't have to buy a new product.

How do you connect it wired with the pc instead of WiFi. If that is possible.
@ErikHartley4 ай бұрын
You would need either a USB-C to USB-C cable cable of video transmission or an HDMI to USB-C cable that you would then connect to the left side port of the Beam. XREAL sells both of these cables on their website.

Hey I dont understand the difference between connecting my Nreal air to my pc without the Beam, and with the beam, I mean ofc you get the wireless feature but exept for that since there is no body anchor I really dont understand the difference.

There is body anchor, Sideview and smooth follow when connecting wirelessly with Beam

I have the Xreal and Beam since last week, I'm absolutely not satisfied, I'm not able to connect wireless with Bluetooth or casting to my pc. They are seen, but the connection fails I have Windows, a RTX4070 T Super graphics card, and a i9-1400k processor . I regret that I bought it.

Mr. Hartly, can I please trouble you with some advice on where I can find a solution to this problem? I have my ipad pro all hooked up to the BEAM which is hooked up to my Xreal AR glasses. All are on the same WIFI network. I even have the ipad pro and BEAM connected via bluetooth. But when all is said and done, my ipad pro says it's connected to the BEAM via bluetooth and aircasting from the ipad pro to the BEAM.. But I see no ipad pro screen casted onto my XREAL AR glasses. Is there any website or phone number where I can find the answer to this? Thanks a million. -- Mike Nguyen
@ErikHartley Жыл бұрын
I believe you'd need the Beam and the iPad to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. While you can add Beam as a Bluetooth device, Bluetooth doesn't support the amount of traffic needed to stream video and audio together. I'm unfortunately not a regular Apple product user so I don't have a lot of personal experience with iPads or other iOS/Mac devices. You can refer to the wireless streaming guide on the Beam itself but I'm not aware of any other instructions available or customer service area you can contact regarding that connection. If you think you have a defect of some kind, you can reach out to support@xreal.com for troubleshooting and they may be able to assist.

I have a hp laptop will the xreal air and beam work with my laptop to browse internet and watch videos other than there own apps?I am not tech smart!Thankyou!
@ErikHartley Жыл бұрын
Yes, if you are using Windows 11 you can make the Beam + Air a wireless display. If you have an older version of Windows you may need to connect via USB-C to USB-C cable if your computer supports display over USB-C or connect via HDMI to USB-C cable. The HDMI to USB-C cable sold on XREAL.com works best in that situation.

First thank so much for this video. Great content. I got a question, and hoping you can share some insight. I like the trick of upping the speed in Advance Display. Unfortunately when I try on my Beam, mine starts at 30hz and not 60hz. And I can't up any further. Could you please guide me how to up from 30hz to 60hz or 120hz.
@ErikHartley Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure on this one. My Beam only works at 60hz or 120hz. Is your PC potentially limited to 30/60hz?
@melkok8058 Жыл бұрын
@@ErikHartley When i connect my laptop with the monitor it's working at 60hz. But when connect to beam it's only 30hz for all my laptops. Wonder if by any chance you can connect with the manufacturer on this. Hope they can release a software. Otherwise 30hz was too painfully slow almost to the point of useless. Thanks Erik for taking your time.
@ErikHartley Жыл бұрын
@@melkok8058 I don't have an explanation for this. The Beam by default should render at the 60hz refresh rate of the XREAL Air. I'd recommend contacting support@xreal.com or after-sales@xreal.com to file a ticket to troubleshoot this for yourself.

It cannot at the current time, however they did just recently add the ability for it to be seen as an MTP device on a PC. It may be possible to add this functionality in the future.

@ErikHartley Жыл бұрын
@@viniciuschinen1689 If you are attempting to stream from GingerXR, you'd have to have Nebula on an Android device to accomplish that. I don't use GingerXR or illustrate the use of GingerXR in this video. You can use the Beam for wireless display or connect the Xreal Air 2 Pro to the PC directly for a single monitor display. There's no way to currently do multi-display until an updated wired driver for GingerXR or an updated version of Nebula for Windows is released.

how can you connect the HDMI directly from the pc to the xreal device?

You need an HDMI to USB-C cable to the XREAL Beam then the XREAL Air connected to the other USB-C connection on the Beam or need a device that can translate the HDMI to USB-C display output.
