For the clip on mic it was nice to have the wind and background noise filtered out and dialogue audio was crisp, but lost some of the ball striking audio and was getting filtered too much. Audio lipping out like a horvat putt

Definitely prefer the clip mics over the camera mic even without the sound of contact with the ball, if we could get a listen to the clubs too it would be perfect

I agree. It may be extra work to edit, but if they can keep the normal mics for the ball swings, that would be ideal. The lavs are great for commentary, especially with wind, but they really don't pick up the ball strike that well which is what we're all here for.

One thing I don’t like on the mics is not hearing y’all’s clubs make contact with the ball. You need that sound when you’ve watched so much content that you can tell when y’all hit a good or bad shot off the way it sounds off the club face😂 plus it’s nice hearing the sound of the birds and things around y’all. Thanks for doing what you do!!

You can still have a main mic and then splice in the contact with the ball. You could also do a lav mic on your shoe and get that sound.

Appreciate you trying new things as far as audio goes! I personally like the OG mics. I like hearing the club on the ball. Love hearing the compression and knowing if you hit a good shot even before you can see where it landed. Like hearing the birds in the backgrounds too. Great content! Looking forward to the series!!

Didn’t have to look too far for this comment. Hearing the ball strike is awesome with the OG mics. On the first two holes we hear the club swing, then zip. The others are pretty cool too, but c’mon, Matt would be talking non stop LOL.

The Ocean Course went through a big redesign prior to the 87 Open. Tom Weiskopf was the designer. Both the Lake and Ocean Courses have lost a ton of trees since I was a member. But the bones of these two terrific courses are still there. fun to watch the next generation enjoying one of the greatest golf courses in the world. I feel blessed to have been able to play my entire junior golf years at The Club.

I personally like the OG mic setup, I think the LAV mics are good for voice and audio but more in a presentation or podcast setting the I like hearing the birds and all the environment noise when you guys are out on the course. Plus the OG boom mic makes the sound of the club much better than the LAV mic. Thanks for the great content boys!

Loving the behind the scenes, the mics are awesome for the carts and between shots, especially when you guys are far from the camera, but the friction against your shirts during the swing along with the lack of impact sound aren’t the best. The ambient sounds of being on a golf course like the birds and the sounds of hitting the golf ball are missed with the mics. However, on those crazy windy days or when you're playing under an aircraft path, I bet the mics would be amazing. You'll figure it out. Keep up the efforts, it's paying off.

For those who may not know; the boys are playing the "Ocean" course here first. The other 18 hole course in the more famous "Lake" course which has hosted a few US Opens in the past (where Scott Simpson edged out my hero Tom Watson in an epic battle in 1987). Still have the VCR tape of that one! :)

“If you drive it in the fairway, this course is easy…” …the putting, pitching, and chipping look “easy”, even from the fairway… kind of a testament to how great that course really is, guys… Olympic used to be in the U.S Open course rotation, back in the day… js

Olympic is still a course tr USGA favors. It held 5 Opens there 1955 - 2012 and the US Women’s Open was held there in 2021. The men’s Open will surely be back at Olympic. BTW - the guys are playing Olympic’s Ocean course. Olympic’s Lake course is the tougher US Open course.

I just moved to San Diego from the east coast D.C. area. Been coming out here for years as my bro lives out here. But in the past two months since moving out here I’ve been consistently shooting 5-10+ strokes a round on average. Cali golf just hits different. But I feel you on the unreal vibes. Always good vibes out here…. Just remember everything breaks towards the valleys! (Or the water on the coast) so hard to get used to, I’ve seen putts break uphill here). But super stoked for this series can’t wait to see where you guys play down south in San Diego.

Love this series idea. You should make it a regular thing (1, 2, or 3 trips a year?) and go to different states and play great courses that they have. I would suggest Michigan, play Grant's dad's old course Grosse Ile (my home course) in SE Michigan, then play Detroit Golf Club (Rocket Mortgage Classic), Oakland Hills (PGA Champ, Ryder Cup, etc.), then head North and play some of the best resort courses in the country (Forest Dunes, Arcadia Bluffs, Harbor Springs)

The Olympic Club is awesome. Got invited by a member a couple months after they hosted the US Open. Never played on greens so fast and bunkers with such pure sand. They were like sugar and the greens were rock hard but rolled so true- just so fast.

Honestly, loving this pace compared to the other content. KZbin doesn't need to be 100mph all of the time, its exhausting to watch. Sometimes just kicking back and watching a normal paced play is just as enjoyable. Love to see the full-fat production and behind the scenes type style. Great 'series' so far gents. 👏

It's so fun watching Garrett and grant play courses I got the privilege to get on when I grew up in the bay. It's so cool seeing them in the city I grew up in and the same scenery I saw
