Great video. Try this trick on the DOA, I learned from Ken Taylor. Put the hook from the 1/2 oz shrimp in the 1/4 oz and then super glue. Rig it the normal way just with the larger hook. The 1/2 gives that shrimp a much bigger gap that helps immensely with hook ups. Helped me land many more on that lure. Flounder are still tough no matter what though due to that sideways mouth. Thank you for the great content!

Hi Thonny, always enjoy your videos…I’m a snowbird from Long Island NY , have a condo in the South Pasadena area and fish most of the winter months around many of the same areas that you do… have over the years caught some big flounder , but I think the bouts with red tide have really effected the flounder population more so than other species. here in Long Island the size limit is 19” and 19-1/2” during the two open seasons …. As you know that’s a hefty size ! Enjoying the videos , look forward to coming down in a few weeks !
@Thonny
@Thonny Ай бұрын
19” flounder is massive for Tampa bay! Caught one really nice one at the skyway free lining for grouper. 19-20 inches, rare catch for sure.

Thonny I’m 7mins into your video plan on seeing the rest later on today. I follow you and Bush learned a lot. I’m especially grateful when you guys share the location and you do at times. I’m new to the area and only know the Skyway pier and the Gandy road side just over the bridge. I guess I’m ask if you guys could share the area. I understand most people don’t like to give up spots for many reason. Thank you for all the helpful techniques and tips. You keep fishing and sharing and I’ll keep watching.

You see the difference between you and these guys believe or at least practice you can’t keep unless you give it away. Believe as I venture into Kayak fishing I met a number of these guys become friends with them and yes they share location and besides experiences. Small minded people I will pray for you. In NY I made the fisherman magazine 2 times met a lot of people and you will never reach the level like Bush , Thonny, Dylan ect. Honestly I was hoping to hook up with them maybe a road trip enter into a t tournament. Honestly guy there are so many people who like helping people and they actually become better at their skills. Good luck

John I hear ya but I have to be honest with the success I had in the past. Many boats drifting over the same areas or wrecks some guys definitely did better than others. Some many variable to consider. Tides, water temperature, change in wind direction ect. Technique and determining the right baits play a big part in your success for that day. I’ve learned a lot over the especially hanging out in a bait shop and mostly becoming friends with the locals. If you get this far with this message check out Southern Salt. He’s has over 28,000 followers yes because he’s that good. Tips tricks locations not include a Bless Heart. I understand both sides of this issue. Honestly I choose to follow people who share including location and Thonny does at times. I find those guys have the best videos, techniques, tips and tricks. God has provided plenty of fish for us to eat and share. Together we can create the life our God set forth. Thank you for being respectful checkout Southern Salt , Fish On and guys like them. Go in peace and catch them fish. 🙏

nice flounder but.... 10:40 waste 40 seconds talking about issue with doa shrimp slipping but fix is in another upcoming unlinked video. Guessing fix takes less than 10seconds to describe. guessing either 1) superglue 2) shim like a toothpick 3) alternative hooking methods.
