Ours got a bachelor's degree in linguistics and has worked at the Gap for two years. Unless you will pursue advanced degrees I wouldn't recommend it

How can you tell someone what to do with their degree if you don’t have one?

This video was posted last year - which means that she has a BA in linguistics now. Which still does not make you a valuable candidate if you have it. Most employers demand that you have at least a Master degree.
