Believe that 2nd House was in hunterspoint/Bayview. Like the house but that ghetto is not livable for white folks. Carry a strap and bullet proof vest at all times. Excelsior was nice too, but a lame area. Lacks character, and is almost like it’s not in SF.

None ✨ I'll wait for a real estate crash then buy in urban places. In the meantime, the best housing markets within the Bay Area are in the fringes of the East Bay like Vallejo, Brentwood, or Antioch. Fremont or Milpitas if you are lucky.

Hey Josh and Katie! A big hello from UK. My wife and I enjoy your videos and get excited when we see a notification you've got a new video! Having lived in San Francisco for a year before moving here, it brings back great memories and much of the reason we first discovered you. We don't, however, miss the ridiculous rent there. on comparison, rents are bad here in London, but we have a very nice, large spacious two-bedroom, two-floor condo with an ocean view for 1,650 Euros per month, which is about average here for a nice area. Anyway, not to ramble on, keep up the fun, positive videos! All the best!

I just viewed a building with 3 units at open house in the Inner Sunset. There were three good but modest to say the least. The floor plans were weird. each unit had only 1 bathroom and the bedrooms were next to one another with a door in between. There was a small room off of the kitchen used as a breakfast nook but barely able to do that. It might be better to use it as a laundry room though that would take some doing. It would probably take about 200,000 dollars to get into shape. Each flat was basically the same. They were charming but needed a lot of cosmetic work. The asking price for the whole building was 2.3 million dollars and they will probably get 3 million.This, to me, is insane and criminal. But that is the world we live in.

I live in SF near the Civic Center and been in the city all my life but its time for me to leave. Housing too expensive and recently the crime in the city has went up quite significantly. I'm looking to move to Thailand or Philippines once I feel confident my online business income is pretty steady. In Thailand I saw a 3 bedroom and 2 bath house for rent and only for 25,800 baht which is about $ 860.00 USD. My eyes open up big.

Location, Location, Location! That's the one thing I've learned from buying in the SF Bay Area. It is better to buy something small and rundown in a great location, than it is to buy something nice in a distant or undesirable location. With that said, I don't think any of those properties qualifies.

I'm a student and bay area native writing a research paper on the effects of the Silicon Valley tech boom on SF and would love to hear your viewpoint from within the industry!
@JoshandKatie4 жыл бұрын
Hey Emily! I don't think we necessarily think of ourselves as "contributing to the housing crisis in the Bay" as much as we think of ourselves "dealing" with the housing crisis in the Bay. Cost of living is a struggle and con for everyone who chooses to live in SF/Bay Area and I think we all wish rent or housing prices were more reasonable. There are pro's and con's of living everywhere though--we left our families and homes in more rural (and affordable) America to chase tech career opportunities here. The con of Idaho: no tech opportunities. The pro of Idaho: really affordable cost of living. We see vice versa of San Francisco. We definitely no what it is like to move away from a place that didn't have the economic opportunity we were looking for. Biggest thing contributing to the housing crisis is lack of housing though

@@JoshandKatie It is what it is. I think it is more than apparent we need to make some changes. For some reason there are 2 democrats that are fighting the infrastructure bill. I do not get it. As for the deep japanese bath they are call an ofuro which is a soaking tub great for relaxation and meditation. The Excelsior district is abit sketchy the shabby one is just middle class. Any one who from S.F. would grab the yellow cottage not the cloche new condos which are all alike inside and out no character. I've lived here for 40 years.
