WHAT CAN YOU GET IN MOROCCO SOUK FOR €20? Agadir Morocco 2021, Mor Acro Moroccan Travel Maroc

Aourir Souk happens every Wednesday and it is the market for those living outside of Agadir in the Taghazout, Tamraght, Tamaowanza area. We explore the cost of living in Morocco to fill our bohemian kitchen with fruits and vegetables both grown in Morocco and from abroad. There is a mix of languages spoken, Darija, Tachelhit, French, Arabic, and English. In the Moroccan market we buy melons, oranges, potatoes, peas, carrots, parsnips, mango, pineapple, raspberry, strawberry, apples, blueberry, celery, parsley, radishes, pasta, sugar cane juice, eggplant, zuchinni, green pepper, beats, and nectarines. 200 Dirham converts to 20 euro or about 22 dollars. We eat healthy, and mostly local and seasonal for an affordable price. I feel somethings could be cheaper in America, such as pineapple, mango, and even broccoli, but on the whole the taste in Morocco is very fresh. It lends well to Moroccan cuisine. So travel to Morocco already and taste the difference.

It looks so nice to do the green grocery shop in this way in the open, I remember the open markets in London many years ago, but moved away and am uncertain as to whether they closed down over time. There is nothing to compare with the abundance of fruit and vegetables, the fresh smells, the noises and the people. One area that concerns is that the market sellers bring sooooo much food to this market, if they do not sell all the fruit and vegetables on that day, and with the heat from the climate of Morocco, it must create a lot of waste, especially the tomatoes, or cut green leaves which would become limp after a day. What happens to the food?

Good question, there are discounts at the end, no seller wants to waste! I do not see too much food left behind, but sometimes there are some rotten oranges or so. Abundance is the key word here, so much food!
