I think financial stress definitely plays a part. Age seems to as well, as it seemed to significantly decrease after 30, while it was insatiable before that, even though I've been on bc for years before and since. 😢 Maybe a part of that is getting married, because cleaning up after my spouse is a turn-off, as is being stressed about bills.

I appreciate the information Dr. Jen because at 37 years old I feel like my body is starting over which my boyfriend Ray (47 years old) wouldn’t understand. To be honest, this is going to sound weird but the last time I had sex with him was 9 years ago. But when him and I fell out of sink things changed. He got hurt while on his retirement and I had job matters to tend to. But in between that I did go on one date but never had intercourse with that guy. And now that Ray and I found our way back to each other four months ago I’m nervous about the intercourse being painful. Does different culture and nationality play a role in any way? Can a hysterectomy cause a low sex drive? Also, I had one ovary and both of my fallopian tubes removed. I still have my right ovary, plus I am in my 50s. Might be time to do some observational homework. What's changed for her (note, I didn't say "how has she changed?"). Work? Home location? Kids or lack of kids that she wants? Politics (yeah... this matters depending on the person)? Relatives? Responsibilities? Environmental? Your acknowledgement or other's acknowledgement of stressors? Any date nights? Enjoying the date nights? Just noticing, talking about a stressor without talking about or talking about the missing sex drive may be helpful. 🤷‍♀️

I'm going to stop putting this situation on the back burner I am going to my OB at the end of June and I'm going to lay it all out there for her and be like hey I have a little libido and I didn't think I should I'm 37 I'm married I have a kid I don't know but what gets to me is like my husband will take little Digs at me but in a joking way and then that makes me feel even more like crap or he's just downright rude and for some reason I am doing exactly what I thought I would never do I'm taking a lot of crap from him especially when it comes to what's going on in the bedroom and I don't know where to turn other than to have myself checked and to go to the ob. I'm just diagnosing myself here but I really think that one of the reasons for my low libido is because of lack of communication in my marriage.
