Just yesterday, in the YouVersion reading plan group I’m part of, one of the group members pointed out the curious pattern of name changing as people’s lives encounter God. This group member expressed some humor about the changes. We all, in the reading group, commented on how odd that seemed and sent smiling and laughing emojis - then this morning I was stopped flat footed, dead stopped in my tracks by John’s direct tie in (starting around the seven minute mark) about our story and name changes! The Holy Spirit spoke so clearly to me the fact that our reading group noticed name changes yesterday was MUCH, MUCH more than us just seeing a curiosity - rather, it was the Spirit trying to get one or more of us in the reading group to encounter our “story!” All of this is much more nuanced than I can express or describe here - but trust me, God is acting directly within our YouVersion reading group along with this Become New series of “our story” to impact one or more of our reading group participants. I absolutely LOVE it when the Holy Spirit seems to be orchestrating the delivery of a needed message via multiple sources. ❤❤❤

I didn't think characters from a comedy might play where I'm at in life now, but possibly a combination of Carter and Edward from the movie, "The Bucket List." Like the characters, I am facing serious cancer issues, however, unlike them, I am on the mend. I guess I've already accomplished most of my list by riding 50,000 miles cross country on a motorcycle. Those trips allowed me to really see America and meet a lot of interesting people along the way. So, how does the movie relate to me in the present? Both Carter and Edward's real desire was to heal strained and broken relationships. Their medical condition made them realize that things like climbing a mountain or some acts of derring-do are not really the kind of things that should be on a "bucket" list... healing the heart is what they both wanted before the end arrives.

I love this series. My first philosophy class at age 21 required reading a book about the great adventure of life and being the hero of your own story. Last year our church did the study “Experiencing God”. This weaves together the nuggets I received from both alongside a very personal invitation to choose my response to both significant disappointments and deep tremblings related to children’s choices/paths. To perceive His story as my greater plot, influencing my character development more than anything else brewing in my little story. Appreciative.

Externally, my life is very boring and privileged-I have suffered little compared to most. But everything is important to Jesus, and there have been moments where I have had to act to save lives, including my daughter’s life, and God does not consider my struggles to become more like Him trivial. I would say Sally Field in those moments. ❤

Sorry, that is a little vague. What Iran by “Sally Field” is I have had to become strong, independent, AND completely DEPENDENT on God. All I used to want is safety and comfort, but there is so much more to life!!! ❤❤❤

Great espoide. I have lived in fear most of my life. Not wanting anything to change, cause if it does, what happens?? I need to know before it happens. Now, I am leaving fear behind. I am doing it afraid, so one day I can do it courageously!!

good morning ☀️ 😬 🫣Today, in my role as a caregiver to my mom with whom I spent all my life not to be like to end the generational curse. My God light is so dull, almost burnt out. I love mom, don’t love that she cares more about what others think about her than the one who takes care of her. The asian way is not always humbling when self-focused in her cognitive loss illness. I am not proud of this version of me.🙏🏻 I am in need of prayers, there is unforgiveness that’s dulling my light. That it be revealed so It can be healed; I am so blinded by it.
