Yes, the Gold Shield from Sonic 3D Blast. That opinion about Classic Sonic Generations is very unusual and I like it. I always thought Sonic Mania should have it aswell, as is the main remake of classic games, keeping the insta-shield on Sonic as the main ability instead of side content. It would be more accurate to the franchise and, to be fair, also more nostalgic and a more logical decision. Also, imagine having every classic shield available!

I don't think Classic needs his own HA in the first place, but having it as a shield rather than an additional basic move does make more sense. On a related note, if there'll ever be an Adventure-esque Modern game in the future, I hope to see something like Sonic Utopia's "Super Spin Attack" instead of the HA. It also homes into enemies but preserves your momentum while giving you extra airtime, which could be used to take special shortcuts _or_ send you to a hazard if you're careless.

Sega took the Drop Dash from Sonic Mania (a game they didn't even make) and put it in Sonic Forces, so that theory makes no sense

e.g Nintendo still owns Diddy Kong despite the fact that Rare created him in the DK Country games and have the rights to use him whenever they want (because the license was for a series they owned), which is why you see him in Smash. Same case for SEGA and S3DB.

They couldnt bring it back from 3d blast because sonic team didnt make it, it was travelers tails who made 3d blast so generations did have too use moderns homing attack instead and i like moderns homing attack better than blasts to be honest.

sonic generations logically takes place before sonic 3 for classic sonic bc you can find classic tails in sonic generations but not classic knuckles and sonic 2 came out in 1992 while sonic 3d blast came out in 1996 its logical that sonic generations takes place before sonic 3 for classic sonic because classic sonic would have gone back through green hill to kill any badniks he missed before in a previous comment on this video 4 years ago sega did not make sonic 3d blast but even if they did classic sonic didnt meet knuckles before sonic generations as seen when you talk to knuckles as classic sonic knuckles does not turn into classic knuckles
