Thank you for taking time to explain the process which takes place during weight loss. I'm a weekend warrior that has experienced some of the symptoms you touched base on. I've been to my primary physician and a gastroenterologist over the years and never had the breakdown that you gave in your video. I appreciate you educating us on this topic.

This makes so much sense. I used to be 200ibs, 2 and a half months ago, I’m now 170ibs. I stopped lifting weights and taking supplements. I now suffer from dehydration, frequent pvcs, fatigue, anxiety, depression and just generally feeling ill. I was searching everywhere for answers to why I am feeling like this. But this makes so much sense!

I've dropped from 185 lbs (6' male) to 167 lbs in 120 days so far. The only thing I've done differently from before is eating less. I used to over eat because I work from home and the fridge is close buy. I entirely stopped buying some moderate (not fatty) snacks. My diet has remained almost the same, but only less than before, minus snacks entirely. My body craves less, but what worries me is that my muscles or joints hurt more. I eat seafood and soup/vegetables mostly, with occasional lean chicken (twice a month) or red meat (once a month). I have more breath and lung when I go for a jog. 185 lbs was very taxing on my body because I have a small build frame, even though I'm 6', but had a belly that is going away. I really need to see a nutritionist, because I feel like something's wrong with my body with constant tendinitis and pain which is getting worsened.

So I started this month at 237 and I've dropped down to 218 as of today. The only issue I found is my energy level has decreased while I exercise. I'll feel fine the majority of my run but this week I've been hitting a wall and have to stop, whereas a couple weeks ago I could just muscle through it. My weight loss for each week has been Week 1: 11 lbs, but I'm saying at least 9 was water. Week 2: 2 lbs Week 3: 3 lbs This week I've lost another 2 so far. I might be overthinking it but just curious if the loss of energy when I run is a bad thing or not. I've been able to stay very well hydrated, I drink between 1 to 1&1/2 gallons of water a day to make sure I don't dehydrate. I try to stay about 1000 calories below my maintenance level, currently mine is 3400 a day, I eat between 2200 and 2400. If you could reply that would be great. Have a great day.

Your generalising alot. Someone weighing 125ib losing 3ib a week is probably dangerous. Someone 400ib it isnt. Can lose that fasting for one day. You should really note that as it damages your credibility. I can lose 4ib a week just by sticking to 1800 calories and doing 1 hour excerise everyday. Last thing I need is fear mongering when my weight is more of a risk than the amount im losing

Excellent point John! You are totally correct that weight loss is relative. A larger individual should be able to lose much more weight safely. The intention here wasn't to scare, and most people won't experience most of these issues. It was more just a hypothetical (albeit somewhat unrealistic) thought experiment of all the possible things that could happen :)

I was very interested in the gallstone part of this video so thanks! I lost 60lbs in four months. I drank tons of coffee and water till pee clear. No problems at all. About a year later I did have weird problems w heart ( wasn't fasting) but heart doctor did tests and no issues. Felt like chest was squeezing. I think this was from alcohol? Not sure. Huge amount of what he's saying this video about the side effects is just not true ( when it comes to feeling. A lot of this is controlled by diet and whatever kind of nutrients you're getting) . I've been water fasting for years and I feel amazing. There are times where I run out of energy but that happens to a lot of people. I would say more often though I have a lot of energy when water fasting. I've gone about three days at a time I would just listen to your body don't go super hard. When I went past 3 days I started to lose the ability to speak properly but I have friends who are heavier and they have one for a week or more with no problems. They said my problem was I needed to be using the right kind of salt in my water, so I think I was just out of electrolytes. They'll say something like you need to use the Irish salt anyway. It's very very dangerous to water fast but a lot of what he's saying is video just isn't accurate WHEN IT COMES TO FEELING not when it comes to the medical problems. There are a lot of studies and there's a lot of research and water fasting and it can tap into different energy forms in your body and will give you energy when you need it. But it is very dangerous when it comes to the medical side of all of this so you should educate yourself a lot talk a lot of doctors and nutritionist. You do have extremely positive health benefits and I say the negative benefits are very small overall from water fasting. Just for my personal experience and if for overall health I recommend to maybe try to water fast at least once or twice a week for one day. That's going to clean out your gut and it's just going to make you feel lighter and happier overall. It's going to help you FIX lot of things.. why would giving your body a break from tons of junk be a bad thing? It's not even going to use up everything that's in your STOMACH 💩

I used to eat my food so fast it was gone in a minute....now I have practice chewing my food thoroughly making my plate of food last longer than 20 minutes doing this has caused me to be less hungry and so I only eat when I feel hungry....I eat much smaller sizes so far I have lost 1lb each day for the last 7 days....I'm getting maybe 1500 cals a day....I used to get way more maybe 5000 to 6000 🤣🤣🤣 or at least 4000

Question: if I eat 2k calories a day. But burn 1000k a day extra x5 a week by working out. I walk and box and weightlift. Is that enough to keep the gallbladder working? My wife just went through this as she lost 200 lbs in 9 months and her gallbladder is screwed. She just had it taken it today which lead me to your videos on what I can do so get some good weight loss like 4 lbs a week but also not have any issues. My metabolism is already very poor and I'm on the verge of gastric sleeve. But I think of I stick to my workouts and tune my diet, I'll be ok.

Hair loss can occur if you are losing weight too quickly or doing it in a way that severely restricts the intake of certain dietary nutrients. There's no need to rush to lose weight, it's not a race! Try to make sure your diet is varied and contain lots of healthy protien, fats, fruits, and veggies. Also check with your doctor since weight loss is not the only thing that can cause hair loss.

I'm a little worried because I started my weight loss journey a little over a month ago and have lost about 24-26 pounds. I have been eating protein bars and drinking about 6 water bottles a day, taking fish oil and B12 in the morning and again fish oil and a statin at night, my snacks mostly consist of a cucumber and or superseed crackers with hummus. And dinner is always some kind of chicken salad with lots of avocado. I kind of track my calories and most of the time they are under 1400 for each day. I want to do this right. Any suggestions 🤔

How big are you? Bigger people tend to always lose weight quickly when they first start. I personally think you should not worry about calories just make sure you eat 3 or 2 meals a day and dont snack. Also stay away from processed foods! If you struggle with being hungry I recommend a healthy keto diet. High fat diets are best at reducing hunger from my experiences
@jessicadenike5245

@@EveofPyrite I'm 5'6 and 189lbs. I'm not really struggling with hunger, I just don't want to be loosing it too fast and harm myself, I'm pretty strict with myself and keep busy to forget about hunger anyway, and if I feel super hungry I just drink a water bottle and it goes away for a bit. And as far a processed foods, I feel like unless I go hunt and harvest my own food I can't escape that. Sure I try to eat more of what "grows" rather than what comes from a box lol but I understand what you mean. Unfortunately I am using atkins meal replacement from time to time, which I know is 100% processed....but anyways I was more or less wondering if this was way way too fast of weight loss, and if I maybe needed to try to eat more calories? Or maybe more protein? Or just keep doin what I'm doing as long as I can keep it up forever ha. I appreciate your advice:)

@@jessicadenike5245 congrats on your weight loss so far❤ I do think its best to eat more calories . feeling hungry often isnt good cause when you get to your goal weight its gonna be hard to maintain. Have you ever tried intermittent fasting? Thats a very good way to lose fat at a good pace and not deprive yourself . Im not a doctor just a person who loves nutritional science . You should go look at Dr. Jason Fungs lectures on the obesity code. Its very eye opening on why people struggle with our weight and gives a scientific unbiased viewpoint.

1400 calories is very low, so you could probably eat quite a bit more, especially heavier people burn more so they can eat more and still lose weight and 1400 calories would be low for even a very lean person. Most of this sounds fine though, especially if you like it but if you start having problems, protein bars are very calorie dense(as is avocado). It can be nice to have foods which are much less calorie dense so you can have more; salads(look out with the dressing and nuts), popcorn, low fat yoghurt, etc. I suppose you're trying to do very low carb which if that works for you is of course fine too. I wouldn't worry too much about processed foods vs whole foods, what matters are the calories and to an extent the macros, especially with regards to how much they fill you up. Edit: Maybe the calorie density advice doesn't work for you, some people prefer eating calorie dense foods(which higher fat things are going to be most likely) for the satiety that comes from fat for example. Other people prefer eating a larger volume and filling up the stomach more, then less calorie dense foods can be nice. Whatever works for you.

I lost weight very quickly while I was in the marines because I didn't like being ostracized for being the fat guy I would eat about 1500 calories a day and burn about 1000-1500 through exercise. I would also do a massive cheat day on Saturdays. ended up losing about 5lbs a week on avg. and although I felt hungry I had decent energy levels, slept good, and the weight didn't come back after I was done losing it. I'm currently 250lb, trying to lose weight to 180lb. I actually think that losing 22lb a month is too slow. I honestly believe that I can lose all 70lb in 2 months. My diet is basically just 1 standard meal, a high protein drink, and lots of fruit. Yes, I only eat once a day. But this is not the main source of weight loss. My main source of weight loss is exercise. I walk in a sauna suit at around 10.30am to 12.00pm outside everyday. I usually lose around 1 to 1.5kg from the exercise alone (this is before the increase from eating). I never suffer from dehydration, because anytime my mouth feels uncomfortable, I always drink 1 to 2 glasses of water. My pee is also never colored, except when I pee after sleeping/napping. I can consistently lose 0.5kg in a day. What is your advice on my weight loss routine?
@BrianYeungND
@BrianYeungND 2 жыл бұрын
I'm happy you're doing well! It seems like most of the weight you're losing is water weight, thanks to the sauna suit. Water weight is fast to lose at first, but what's likely going to happen is your weight loss will slow down, and you won't be able to keep up that rate of weight loss. I would focus on making sure your diet is sustainable, so you continue to lose weight long-term.
@ShadowbannedAccount
@ShadowbannedAccount 2 жыл бұрын
@@BrianYeungND I don't think it's "only water weight". I always drink a lot of water after I exercise, so I don't think that the weight that is lost is water weight. I am well aware that a sauna suit exercise mostly only outputs water. But, a sauna suit heats up the body and increases metabolism. That's why I do it with a lot of water intake after the activity.

Hi doc I am going through a water fast diet and I drink a huge amount of water each days Is this possible for me to do in the next 2 months? I am a female of 27 years of age and i weighted 117kg This is my 7th days of water fasting and my current weight is 109kg. I am so surprised and impressed of this results but I don’t know if I should continue on with this method. I went to my family doctor seeking help why I am not having my menstrual cycle for 2 months. I know I am not pregnant because I have tested a multiple times and besides I don’t have a sex partner 😂😂😂 so it’s kinda of embarrassing to kept on testing myself without having sex 😂anyways so I went to my doctor and he said that I have to loose weight in order for me to have my period and oh my gosh I had mine yesterday when my weight drop down to 110.20kg. Please can you please advice of this is a good method to do within 2-3months thank you doc

My advice is try not to look for a quick fix. Slowly change your whole lifestyle by taking small steps and maintain them: cutting out or replacing snacks, reducing portion sizes, less bubble tea, etc... The problem with your water fast will be sustainability. No one wants to eat like that forever, and once you stop, weight regain is highly likely. But if you implement small steps, and keep them, you're more likely to keep the weight off.

However, I have been told that it's fatty food and lack of water intake that causes gallstone but I don't know. You said a low-calorie diet could also create gallstones. So does eating 1200 is too extreme to cause it?

If you haven't had many of those problems, then it shouldn't be a problem! Very low calorie diets are usually under the 800 kcal range. Also you are correct in saying what you eat during the diet will contribute or reduce the risk of gallstones. Eating more polyunsaturated fats will help reduce that risk.
