hear me out on this idea: i'm rooting for the possibility of like adding events that aren't just country-specific and more so affects the world in it's entirety (that happens at a very rare chance like every few years or so); like let's say a event similar to the 2008 financial crisis where the global economy just dies and prices fluctuate and all that, or something similar to the pandemics where it would pretty much cause an exodus on everyone's population, it could kind of help make it so that the game is more realistic and adds more strategy at least a tiny bit instead of "1 motor factory, 1 steel manufactory, 1 fertilizer factory 🤖"

In my opinion hyperant should add global events such as pandemics, natural disasters that affect population growth in certain regions of a country and if that region is not well developed then the effects would be much stronger. In the same time hyperant should add population movement in order to repopulate regions which were affected by these events or to colonize lands that you have taken from other countries(however this will create huge unrest and that country/region that you have taken can declare their independence if you do it at a very large scale) however this process costs many resources and money on the long term and it will also affect the population growth in the regions where the collonizers come from, but in the end if that region that is being colonized long enough it can become your country's core if it is bordering your country.

I think they should make forts expensive, so it's more of a second hand thing like shipyards, I also think RoN could really benefit from built-in "events" what I mean is you can play a built in WW2 map or a Napoleonic Wars Map if you are bored with the normal map, so instead of taking time joining a bad event with a corrupt owner that you need to friend, you can just select "WW2 map" and join it with other people where there is no host giving himself nukes, I understand this would probably harm or even kill the map making community, but i still think this couod be a benefit in RoN, also ACTUALLY SMART AI WOULD BE SO COOL

the only issue with this is you need more players to fill in the games. people already don't like waiting for game adding more maps would just increase that problem. Though I think a ww1 map would be awesome if the player count continues to dwindle might be a bad idea. AI is very important i don't even think it needs to be smart just some basic lines of code to make units if it has the cash and to dev sometimes.

I still find RON fun. But I wish the combat system could be fully re-worked. I want to see the units become capped at what size they can be. This forces lines and formations and brings a more field-general role to the user. This allows the introduction of any field strategy that could be used in real life. For example, encirclements, or a wedge formation could be used to divide and conquer. You could send fast-moving tanks to flank the enemy artillery, the strategy would be endless! You would still ofc have control over governance and economy so you are basically playing lots of roles, like a leader would historically. I would also like to see the “puppet state” system re-worked which allows much more freedom in the vassal state. Allow them to revolt, or have a fixed contract.

Using formations in warfare is very much possible in the game's current state. All these people complaining about defense being too strong are just the smooth brain players who just spam million stack infantries instead of using a combination of artillery and aerial superiority to break through fortified positions. In other words their short attention span means they cannot handle prolonged warfare that doesn't involve them just spamming units to autocapture. People now have to use their brain to attack and they hate it.

Some more ideas I would like to see added to Rise of Nations: Ultimatums (you can ask another nation to give up land of theirs. If that other nation is a player, then that player can view the ultimatum with the the lands the other nation wanted and they could choose to accept or decline it) Adding the Vatican City (it is a real country but not in RON for some reason, so it should be added) Custom Formables and Releasables (you can add cores if you are making a custom map and so it could help for historical scenarios too) Militia (if a country has no troops it may gain small militias which are small and weak but they still sort of count as troops and appear automatically, however certain things can make them not happen or be rarer like instability)

Just make fort upkeep cost absurdly high. It adds a layer of skill and prevents you from just spamming them everywhere without going into infinite debt.

Fort upkeep is based on the population of a country. Switzerland can spam forts and since they only have like 4 million people, it won't be that much and even if it was higher upkeep, they'd sell more electronics or consumers. It should be more based on the total income the country has rather than getting the upkeep increased.

The game is still fun for me and I’ve been playing for like 3 years or so, it’s by no means a bad game at all and I dont agree with most of the points in this video, sure defence sometimes may well be too overpowered but in early game it still takes some skill to defend against strong countries because they can still use artillery, flanking moves or even attackers to destroy your infantry and artillery. In my opinion the forts are a saving grace for small, disadvantaged countries early on. The demonstration for the “op defence” is with maxed out stuff, it doesn’t happen in early game and not everyone focuses on defence completely when they play, sometimes there’s no time to prepare for a war beforehand to completely focus on defence. Another thing I want to point out is that building factories is not a repetitive thing to do, rise of nations is probably one of the most un repetitive game I’ve ever played, every play through is different, the main problem here is that the content creators get so tied to one game that their forced to play it on a schedule. I don’t play the same game all the time and I like to hop between watching stuff and playing different games a lot, it makes the gaming experience much better and more fun, the problem is with the “getting paid for it part”

i also think that urbanization should be added, well ofc, new towns and cities, with restrictions: 1, names have to be from the language or lingua franca the region uses, 2: 10k is basically 300m but over time can inflate by each city you build, one town can make building a new town 400m.

I have a proposal for the "Population" problem in RON 1. As the country's population gets bigger and they annex more countries, their base stability should begin to decrease as they take more territory which would make conquest wars more and more unreasonable and would force them to worry about their stability and wars more deadly. 2. give a "starting modifier" to many bigger countries such as China or America that would nerf the advantages that naturally come with a bigger population (such as decreased MP cap, slightly lower taxes, etc) which would make them still have the population, yet nerf them which would make early game more balanced 3. Make many "bigger" countries start off as liberal as it will decrease their stability when declaring wars and increase justification so expansion is slower, and would also prevent them from doing "Reform Tax" policy early game like democracies so they don't make a buttload of money early on

Two words: Singleplayer mode It’s what a majority of Grand Strategy games have, right? I was thinking something like this could be implemented for more casual fans of the game, as I feel it’s too, competitive. The only way to break static lines is specialization, the high defense and attack allows you to withstand artillery along with being actually able to breakthrough most defenses. (Though you must have max research infantry, a top tier general to even have a chance at success)

A couple of things that should be added to Rise of Nations would be. 1. Different lands: By this I mean like we should have a map for Pangea, Ice Age, and full land map. 2. Full zoomed Map: This can be like a map of Europe, Asia, North America, South America, and more. This can be useful for like an event only for that Continent and Battle Royales there. 3. Custom Formables: For this it can be used for Custom Countries and Normal Countries. So like it can be custom formables like: United Earth, South America, Asia, and Oceania. It would be really cool.

We need research center and research tab should be easier because mainly it feels that by the time you get the research of like tax to be high enough too Acutally have a noticeable effect but by then everyone is gone and research centers requires 6 electronics and 2 million dollars too maintain and gives 1 research and costs 50 million too make and with max infrastructure it makes 2.5 research. Also this is kinda of good I don’t know but add era voting where you can vote what era you want too be in like 2024 1936 1970 etc and maybe a few fiction ones like Kaiserreich etc for when a new match in public server starts

It’s super repetitive and annoying to race the entire server to build the first 3 electronic factories and sell as much to India before everyone else gets to it and u can’t trade anymore. I think hyperant should increase the size of the nuclear branch, add ballistic missiles and make bombeds able to transport nukes and drop them on targets, making the nuclear branch more sophisticated and easier to get would make things much more interesting in the early game

In my opinion, forts rn is kinda “ok” to me since it provides more challenge to conquer a player controlled nation. It actually makes you think how to capitulate said nation unlike majority of the players who just spams unit and click capture to a player controlled nation which removes the fun. Of course it will be annoying when you’re rushing something, but hey you don’t always get what you want. It also gives you a chance to defeat a super power as a small nation.

%100 diplomacy. RON has a diplomacy issue. It has devolved into an eating simulator where players just invade and invade. Players who get invaded leave. No benefit to forming alliances because you can just nullify them via White peace or breaking alliance, it’s just a better non aggression pact (useless feature btw). No benefit to liberate or subjugate because 1: liberation does nothing for you, 2: no one wants to play a puppet state, 3: losers always scorch leave anyways. Nation simulators must prioritize diplomacy gameplay over all others otheriwise it becomes a complex eating sim. That’s why all those painting simulators get a dedicated fan base, because you can do diplomacy and create unique geopolitical scenarios. Don’t need to force players into pre made private servers to get that intense world war game play. It happens naturally. To address your video. It is repetitive because you can do well in RON without ever interacting with other players. All you need to do is spam factories and troops and buy resources from nations. I can’t say much about what espionage could bring, but IMO Hyperant needs to shift focus onto diplomacy features. Adding niche features will bring back curious players, but then die out, just like how they added nukes when they said they wouldn’t. It’s just a gimmick for when the server is dead and the last player is bored. I agree that balancing is an issue. I don’t like the idea of having randomness kill off population to even the playing field. 1. We should instead burden strong/ populous countries with internal affairs that can be ironed out throughout gameplay, but slow enough to give weaker countries a chance to develop. (A good example of this is consumer goods, all countries start without it, but I think smaller countries should be less impacted by its debuff than larger countries, and should be able to sort it out faster than larger ones) Single player tutorial would be nice and would help the learning curve, but it wouldn’t help long term retention, but I agree with a better tutorial. 1v1 mode would not be good. RON is a nation simulator, not an RTS game. Even though it is advertised as such and tries so hard to be one, it performs poorly compared to actual RTS games because it barely has any combat mechanics, the map itself does not lend itself to traditional RTS gameplay and there is a purposely uneven playing field. I don’t see a clear competitive aspect to RON to warrant any type of 1v1 or 2v2 etc. game mode because 80% of the game is decided by what country you start as. You play as USA, unless you purposely fail, nobody touches you. Play as Greece and you get your ass kicked by turkey in the first minute. In a true RTS game like HOI4, US starts off in a depression to balance things out (even then it is untouchable because of OP geography). However I don’t believe RON should be copying HOI4, because it is not an RTS. RON suggestions that want more RTS features are IMO not good. Adds more to an aspect of the game that shouldn’t be the focus. Ex) Skill tree for troops Better troop handeling Marines - I like the idea of having elite troops and more troop functions in war, but let’s be real, after this is implemented, we are all going to realize that at some point it’s just easier to spam auto capture. Trust me, I’ve tried making multiple armies with different specs and leaders, and it is just miserable to have to organize and get the right guys etc etc. at most, just make troop experience and training more effective. No need for the extra fluff. War should be hard not easy, players should want to sue for peace as soon as possible and want to make concessions instead of going for a straight conquest. That’s how diplomacy becomes important. If it’s too easy to take by force, then people will do it. That is my take. RON and its community needs to understand it is a nation simulator not an RTS. We can have the RTS elements, but the core gameplay should be interacting with other players and diplomacy.

And to clarify what makes an RTS game is you can always attack some combination of an enemies economy, military- industrial complex, or head quarters. In RON there is only one thing you can do, invade. Because unlike RTS games, cities are your economy, military industrial complex and headquarters. You want to win a war, the only way is to invade and force peace, or scorch cities if you can’t hold it. Because even a city with a population of 20k in the middle of nowhere can pump out 100k troops. Capital captures are not enough to force a peace and the political punishment is not enough for stable countries. I stand by my claim, RON is not an RTS and if it is trying to be one, it is making a mistake

i think that population and taxes as a whole should get reworked. you should be able to lose population more easily, and large populations should have more chance of rebellion.

He should have different levels of forts (Like maybe 3 levels? top level being just about the same as a regular fort), it should be worth 20 steel instead of 15 (minor buff but yk) and like someone else said maybe a weather system to even further balance it out.

1. They should remove quantam computing and make it so that your base research power gain starts off as 15 but can be increased to 30 with research spending and other stuff. Hear me out, since most of the content is unlocked early game when there is the most players, it will cause say for example kazakhstan getting Political power tech to rush commuism, Germany getting tank tech to blitz europe, and even Tax collection for bigger democracy's. This will raise the skill ceiling and make more strategy be involved. 2. Maybe Add back roads to raise the skill ceiling, but also instead of troops gainig entrenchment by standing still, they can gain it by standing on a trench. You can build trenches the same sort of way that you build roads, but you dont have to make it from one city to another, encouraging people to not just camp on cities. Trenches will cost 1mil dollars every 5km, and 1 iron and 1 steel every 25km. so a trench of 500km will cost 20 iron, 20 steel, and 100mil dollars 3. Make it so that troops can only be built on cities with recruitment centers. Each country will have one on their Cap. This is so that bigger nations can't instanly spam out their entire MP just to blitz europe and then leave. Yes, Bigger nations will have an easier time building recruitment centers, but It will scale to population, and smaller nations usually have a really high trade income. 4. Personal wishes of mine: -Make the AI smarter somehow (maybe by automatically setting AI troops to capture all and allowing the AI to create more) -Arctic specialization -Troops that are specialized to a certain terrain should be just as effective as if they were on regular terrain when they are in that specific terrain rather than just being slightly better at traversing it.) -Remove Antarctica -Make it so that troops have to actually capture cities one by one rather than being able to waltz across the enemies homeland so that you cant just send a hit squad to a nations capital to instantly win the war. -Fix the "you cant start a war with units so close to the enemy city" error. (I have lost so many surprise attacks thanks to how stupidly inconsistent that error is.) -Walls (basically these could be built either like roads or on a nations border so when somebody wants to invade you they have to destroy the wall with their troops first giving you time to fend off a surprise invasion.) -Just let the AI accept any trade deal that has a price modifier of 1 -AI nations shouldn't be able to join wars regardless of if they are allied to anybody in the war. -If a skin pack or title requires a certain formable as a certain nation all formables of the required nation should also count for completion. -Trade revamp (basically countries would have to either get freighters and ship the materials to do trades rather than the materials just teleporting or they would have to pay taxes to every nation in between the two countries provided they had a land connection) -Adding onto that last bit countries could be able to "blockade" other countries either by refusing to allow shipments through their land or sinking freighters. Some of these ideas are probably horrible but it would be nice for at least some of them to get into the game.

Why do you want Antarctica removed? I disagree with you because adding a bunch of new features makes the game even more convoluted. Trade should stay the same exept that resources should scattered evenly so a few nations don’t dominate important resources. Also wearhouses should be added and be required to store resources. Maybe if you don’t have enough they are sold to a server wide market for half price so anyone can buy them. This would fix Russia players that just horde resources for no reason.

For a long time I’ve always wanted an Ai revamp update, instead of the Ai just throwing everything they got to your troops and die instantly, they should be able to make units at least to defend themselves. Or even better they act like other players, it’s just the only difference is that they don’t have the brainpower like actual players

Also a problem with the game is that if you join an already going game, and have to take a smaller power, you are doomed, because there are no repercussions for invading other countries, you can just be expansionist and screw over all of South American players as Brazil or America, or all of Asia as China or America.

There’s 4 ways to fix the game 1. Debuff entrenchment by a lot to like 1.1x better than normal 2. Debuff divisions in this game by per every division higher, it becomes 1.2x than normal per every division than every lower division there is 3. Make ground and air troops actually stand some chance against navy cause 1 navy can kill infinite troops 4. Debuff terrain and make it faster to travel cause even with specialisation which takes a long time, it still moves slow All these fixes are just debuffing stuff

I would say also giving RON a actual focus tree (ie HOI4 focuses) would make it fun, and also definitely some sort of UI overhaul because its currently appalling. (no hate on the game though, its awesome)

Idea: Hyperant should replace the tile system and releasables with administrative Divisions example: states and provinces. you can also select different governors for them but if the nation collapses they become independent, also if the governor becomes corrupt he might secede. There should be an arms factory for like guns. - like an expenditure of 1 steel or iron every 5 days for full efficiency but if you dont have enough, it would be half as efficient (like mines). It'd be cheap to make and you'd need it to make infantry. All countries should start with a base stockpile (according to their starting manpower) and if the gun requirements are not enough for the infantry the defence should go down to 1x - 0.7x and the attack should be 1x - 0.8x. This should help with spam imo and be a little bit more realistic. (optional) Forts would require an upkeep of arms (around 0.5). I just thought of this now and I wanted to put a suggestion so lol

I got 2 ideas that would at least make it maybe fun for you. It would be great if you did both. (In different videos. Idea 1: play as the weakest nation in rankings. (Which is an island). And you could only take island countries (you could also take islands that are part of countries, (for example. Declare on America. But you could only take Hawaii bc it’s probably the only island in USA (idea 2 in comments) (it would also be great if you replied bruhsteel!)

Idea 2. Play as Germany. But you could only start invading after getting MAX city development. One of the best economies in the server. And then you could start invading. (But if a country invades you while you didn’t finish the steps, make sure you have a really strong defense. Defeat the countries that are invading you. After you defeat them, return them their lands. Don’t even take 1 city!. You cannot also declare liberalism and subjugation. You cannot puppet. Only after you max German cities and get one of the best economies.
