The Boss at Six Flags St Louis is this massive wooden roller coaster manufacturer by Custom Coasters International or CCI. It opened in the year 2000, and in the 21 years since its opening it is said to have gotten pretty rough. For years now, roller coaster enthusiasts have been speculating on whether this coaster will get the RMC conversion, like so many other rough wooden coasters that have since been transformed into elite coasters. But that is not what this video is about. In this video, we’ll ask the question: “If Boss were to get the RMC conversion, what would the layout look like, and how good would it be?”

It could be as good as six flags want it to be, they could go with anything between 120ft and 200ft tall. Everyone would complain with an Untamed-size coaster but it would be a great addition to the park if they didn't want to spend big.

Looking deep into Six Flags Balance sheets, CapEx %'s, and Cash Flow, it finally looks like Six Flags is in Pole position to start spending big on new attractions again, assuming them stick for just a few a year. This is exactly why i garaunteed they would the new SFFT coaster would be a B&M 3 weeks ago.

St Louis is my home park, but I had the pleasure of visiting Cedar Point last week. I've ridden a LOT of coasters in my life, and I have to say Steel Vengeance is the baddest mf I've ever been on. It's insane. If StL actually did this conversion, and could at least compete with Steel Vengence, it would save that park.

hey STL is my home park as well and Steve is my favorite ride of all time. Now when I book a trip somewhere I at least partially plan it around "is there an RMC nearby?" But yea man STL is dissapointing at best and a trainwreck at worst. I remember when they announced a NEW ROLLERCOASTER and it runed out to be a 30 year old vekoma boomerang. This past year they got rid of the gocarts and put in a basic family coaster. Like us coaster enthusiasts get nothing from that park. I would rather drive 5 hours to CP and ride 3 rides and drive 5 hours home in one day than go to STL anymore... The only good thing about STL is how crazy cheap their tickets are.

Apparently, Six Flags was considering RMC'ing Boss in 2021 or 2022 before COVID hit. I'd recommend taking this rumor with a grain of salt, but regardless, there is more of a chance than ever that Six Flags St. Louis will RMC Boss. As a St. Louisan, I am fucking stoked.

Loved the play by play with old boss and rmc boss. I was drooling over the first half of the ride with the roll into the mid course but I'm not sure about the double roll it felt like it made the last bit slow. But I'm sure it will look better once I see the cinematic. St Louis needs to make something happen. Great america as my home park I was fairly spoiled the past decade with not one two or three but FIVE roller coasters. Im looking down at my neighbor wondering wheres the love?

I guess the POV looks kinda slow because it is so smooth but the final hills all deliver ejector airtime and decent positives in the valleys so even though it may not look to be paced that well, when riding the pacing would feel much more intense.

St louis is my home park, and as much as I'd like to see this I just don't think it would have the same return on investment that would be needed to justify the cost. but st louis has recived some small upgrades in recent years so its definetly something to keep an eye on

We have three unique wooden coasters - the most recent of which was built in 2008, and it's only better than GCI's lower ranking installments (Wildcat, Roar, Invadr); and our steel coasters are either clones (though the mine train had a twin brother) or a unique but terrible Arrow/Vekoma looper. Only two were built with a good return on investment in mind.

Six Flags St. Louis is probably going to remain unchanged because the only other roller coaster in the entire metro area is at the incredible pizza company on Lindbergh Boulevard in South County, and that's an SBF spinner. No matter what they do, their return on investment will be the same because there is no competition.

I love it, but something to note would be at 6:10 with the "one final turnaround". This used to be a 540 degree helix but it was causing too much stress to the track. If this gets RMC's I would really like to see them do the double helix again as an ode to the original design.

I like the Boss and think it is super fun and full of airtime if you know how to ride it. You just have to use the grille at the front of each car to pull yourself forward and up.

@@EliteCoasters I think an RMC Boss would be fantastic but I think if Six Flags is going to go that route they should wait until they are willing to GO BIG. A low budget RMC of it would Mandy be even more disappointing than no change at all. There is lots of potential for it to be a world class coaster, but if they decide to cheap out on it they would miss a great opportunity to make SF St Louis a destination park. Regardless, I think Boss has a few years left in it as is before it becomes a total Mean Streak. Last time I agent to the park earlier this year it had a pretty long line.

I don't get any of the jackhammering or constant woodie issues with this coaster (mostly because I'm young and small) but I would love to see more people coming to SFSL because of a Boss RMC. Im worried this layout might focus too heavily on ejector air time, the gp might be too intimidated by this ride. Id recommend adding another inversion, and re-tooling some of the later outer bank turns into some moments of floater airtime. Six flags may also want to add a mid course for capacity reasons since this will be by far the best ride in the park, so that may affect the second halfs layout as well. Overall awesome concept, definitely looks better than the current ride

I don't think the gp would be intimidated by ejector, Steel Vengeance gets 3 hour lines at Cedar Point, El Toro gets long lines, and the only reason Skyrush doesn't is because the insane positive force and intense negative force combined makes it much more intense than RMC-caliber ejector and mild positives. I can see where you're coming from though.

The problem with Boss getting the RMC conversion is that it's still very popular. It usually has some of the longest lines at the park and the general public seem to love it. It's in the same camp as Beast at Kings Island. No matter how much some enthusiasts may complain about them being rough, they still bring in the attendance so there's no point in investing millions for the same return.

It doesn't have much competition though. The other 2 most popular rides are both intense loopers and the people who like the boss find those 2 too intense for them. Of course because the boss pulls no forces at all. But yeah, it's not that our GP inherently like it, they just know nothing else of the sort. Whatever is good in the park is a family ride, intense looper or American Thunder

The mid-course brake run doesn't necessarily have to slow trains down. Is that worth sacrificing one block zone? P.S. Stalls of this type I think are usually called cutbacks. Given that there's absolutely zero stalling, however, with the trains immediately flipping back around again once 180 degrees are reached.

I usually think of a cutback as something like the second inversion on Twisted Timbers. And yeah I could have added a MCBR, but SFSTL doesn't have to worry about capacity as much as Cedar Point, and also RMC removed the MCBR on Hakugei at Nagashima Spaland.

I don't calculate the capacity on my coasters, but SFSTL is a smaller park so they wouldn't have to worry about capacity as much. And Nagashima Spaland (much bigger park than SFSTL) deleted the MCBR on Hakugei
