As they're the ones with the most say in how things that will be effecting the canon be. There was supposed to be references to HK-47 in the empire's end novel, but they shot that down.

I think the Rule of 2 actually is the reason why the Sith died. The true Sith Empire was strength, and they always tested themselves through inner conflict its how they became stronger, the Rule of 2 destroyed that, I think it killed the Sith.

The ancient sith lord that Darth Vader is the most like is Darth Malgus in my opinion and not just coz they both had to rely on respirators. Vader modelled his light saber style on recording of Darth Malgus in combat from his holocron.the inspiration for Darth Vader's suit was also Malgus as Darth sidious wanted the end product of Darth Vader to be very similar to Darth Malgus

I get that Disney probably would screw it up somehow, but how awesome would it be if Revan showed up in Last Jedi? Like Luke does the whole "time for the Jedi to end" bit and Rey goes "Wait... Why?" it goes silent for a few seconds, no music, no nothing, then Luke looks off-screen, and we get a quiet hint of Revan's theme. Luke drops to one knee and Revan walks in and looks at Rey, then to Luke. Then Luke, *who stands back up as he says this* Says "Master." Ray looks at them, confused and Revan pulls out two lightsabers, Ray backs up, and Revan ignites both his red and purple lightsabers, just as the Revan theme reaches a crescendo. He goes over how The Jedi and Sith are constantly at each other's throats, how Jedi constantly fall to the dark side because the Jedi, in general, have a nasty habit to get so caught up in their own rhetoric, gives the example of Luke growing fearful of Kylo Ren and trying to kill him, Luke looks ashamed, Rey horrified, and Revan goes over how the Sith constantly are at their own throats, an endless loop of betrayal, gives the example of how Sidious was backstabbing every apprentice he had in one way or another. The truth lies in shades of gray and all that.

And may I add, Malgus didn't kill any of the people you named either just like Vader.

And he didn't love the younglings deeply. And he killed them for the reason of loyalty to Sidious and not to become more powerfull as Malgus did. And at the moment he found Luke, the son became his attachment but he didn't think to kill the son to become more powerful as Malgus would do. Instead of that he sacrificed his life to save his son.

Darth Revan suggested in his holocron that Darth bane found that if a Master trained more than one apprentice in the dark side, the apprentices would unite and overthrow their master. This is why he said "Each master must have only one student." Read Darth Bane Path of Destruction" page 283. Darth Bane didn't come up with the idea by himself.

Vader an dum dum. Revan's idea of the Rule of 2 is what helped Sidious come to power and overthrow the Republic & destroy the Jedi. Its what helped Sidious stay under darkness to eventually consolidate his power & become Emperor of the Galaxy. Vader's hurt feelings don't change that.
