I have that same decoy and have killed a lot of birds on it. Little tip that helps me out with that decoy, when I'm running and gunning keep the top part of the stake attached to the decoy and half inside of it then I put it in my vest without collapsing it. Mainly for 2 reasons so it doesn't loose shape and it's quicker to get setup when trying to get in front of birds. If you ever get down to west west Tennessee look me up and I can put you on some birds and ducks as well.

The trick to turkey hunting is don’t use more than 1 decoy. You won’t need it. One hen or drake decoy will always bring them in. And do not over call. Maybe two or three call sets. Wait for the gobbler to call back and do not call anymore.

i came across your video's last fall and you had me hooked on waterfowl. I dropped a bunch of coin on decoys, calls, and a new semi 12ga and out i went. Damn it was so much fun. Not sure i have done any hunting before that was as fun. Maybe not as rewarding, but just straight up fun. Good luck with the gobblers!

I would recommend 5 or 6 shot for turkey. Esspecially if you are using a extra full turkey choke the pattern will be to tight with #4 shot

You should get your self a pretty boy series turkey decoys. What you will get a pretty boy full - strutting tom & submissive hen decoys . I have been turkey hunting for over 30 years and I got these decoys and I have killed Turkey's every year for the last 8 years since I have gotten these decoys. I was also told years ago to keep my mouth calls in the refrigerator they last a lot longer doing that I don't know why but it works. I'm so glad that you are going turkey hunting. I love to waterfowl hunt but nothing beats Turkey hunting. Good luck on your turkey hunting and hope you learn to love it like you do waterfowl hunting.

I have little expirence turkey hunting but I have had good luck with 2 decoys 1 hen and 1 Jake cause then the Tom will come and essentially fight the Jake to get the hen

check out deception decoy company. they do some great stuff with turkey decoys. really good stuff with goose decoys too

Definatly get you a box call and a hoot owl call. That primos decoy will work but when you get the money get you an avian x hen. Definatly is worth the money. I've got all the hens and the Jake, I don't use the make every time but those hens are where it's at. Your playing against nature because in nature the hens are suppose to go to the Toms and you have to make the tom come to you instead. It's a load of fun tho. I'm only 17 and don't know everything but have been turkey hunting for the past 7 years and past 4 by myself. It's a blast! But Definatly invest in a hoot owl call and a box call. You won't regret it.

Remember to get a turkey choke for your gun! Those turkeys can take a hit at 30+ yards. I use avain-x decoys.

That decoys will work the same as an avian x. Ps get third degree turkey loads,they have 5,6,and 7 shot in the same shell and works well for turkeys that won’t come in to the decoys

My farm is surroundes by idiots that hunt turkeys without common sense so they get decoy shy. Ive havent had luck with those for 13 years. If you dont have pressured birds than they work
