Me and my dad started pulling rv’s in the early 90’s when you could kinda make some money. No backhauls! That’s why you’re gonna go broke.

That is the part that sucks. But fortunately for me my truck is paid for. Bills are low. Single. And another source of income. I mainly do this to get away and a little extra money.

Glad to see you're back! I just reapplied with a different company myself. I was with them for a bit, but had to de-lease for personal reasons. Things have straightened out and I was able to keep my truck and equipment, so going to give it another shot! Good luck my friend! Keep the videos coming!

What if I wanted to do it on the weekends? I work Monday through Thursday, and would do it Friday through Sunday… would it be worth it??

I don't think it would be possible. Dealership usually don't accept on weekends. If you were off on Mondays and had a Dealership nearby like me so you could deliver Monday and be back to work on Tuesday it might be possible.

Are the Freightliner fl70 to heavy to do this ??

Some companies won't take them because they say they are not classified as a pickup. However some people run 4500 and 5500s. Which to me is no difference. You would be more suitable using it for heavier campers or even multi haul. Your average camper it really wouldn't be worth it because you would probably have to run IFTA. I've actually considered it though. Fl70 custom hauler. Lot more room than a pickup.

Rvs are exempt. Rules state as long as 1 axle of the commodity being towed is touching the ground then you are exempt from eld. I've pulled a couple of pontoon boats with this company. I enjoyed them.

I see some of you have returned back to RV transport. The rates must be low because no one has said how much they are getting. Most RV's are less than $2/mile and nothing coming back. I don't know how the numbers work.

It's definitely not like it was. If you manage your money right. Do your own maintenance and repairs. Stay out of hotels and restaurants. And if you don't already have a lot of expenses you can make an ok living all while traveling. If you have big expenses at home and a family to support it's gonna be tough unless you plan on taking the long hauls and staying out here. Luckily for me my son is grown. I'm single. Truck is paid for and don't have alot of other expenses. So it works for me. I don't recommend someone going out and buying a brand new truck to get in to this thinking they gonna get rich lol

5 months a year, my trucks sit when I am not hauling cedar limbs for wreaths and garland I've been considering putting one to work hauling rvs any information on would be helpful

That would be good. Beats sitting not making any money. Most companies only require you to pull one a month. I don't know if your truck is leased to that company. But you can only be leased to one company at a time. Do your research on companies in Indiana. I personally like Indiana Transport. Lot of people don't because they usually have a little lower rates. But they have the best fuel discounts. So in the end it averages out about the same. Biggest thing for me is the self dispatch load board so I don't have to call in and talk to anyone. Just get on my phone and hit a button. And they also have the most freight.

I was out there years ago took loads to Montana Oregon Washington state Canada big miles very little back hauls good runs sleep in camper got out after 3yrs it just don't pay per mile no back hauls to much dead head happy trails high fuel prices need at least 3.00 mile look what they charge dealer on paper work for freight charges 😮

A conventional travel trailer is not a camper: it is a travel trailer. A camper sits on a pickup truck. A fifth-wheel trailer is not a camper, and a motorhome is not a camper. However they are all RVs or recreational vehicles.
