That rich man's home is so big, it's a pity those paintings weren't taken away or collected! The historic buildings aren't well maintained either, and I'm sad for that! VOC (founded in 1602 and declared bankrupt in 1798), the Netherlands colonized not only Indonesia, but also Taiwan after Indonesia! After Indonesia, Taiwan was also colonized for 38 years. The difference is that the buildings and forts at that time are still well preserved in Taiwan. Some of them have become national monuments and popular tourist attractions in downtown Tainan! This episode is very informative and historical, thank you for taking us on a tour and explaining it in detail! The wedding at the end was the highlight, you did a real great job! 👍😄👏

Nick, saya kembali melihat video lama anda "how Indonesia became Indonesia" Sekarang anda sedikit paham bagaimana negara luar begitu terobsesi dengan Indonesia.

the rich people on Banda Islands are Perkenier...so the big house was their houses..they call it perkenir house.they own the perek(nutmeg plantation). every Perek has their own slaves. so the big house of Mr. schelling also one of the perkenier. if you go to Ay Island for example Perek Welvafen you can see the picture of One big Perek where the Perkenier live in big house in big land covered with big high wall and also the slaves rooms and the place where they used to dry the nutmeg during rainning season...i love the history and nature there...thank you for the videos...🙏

Renovating that house and make an exhibition is a great idea but 1. where to find the money? 2. are there enough tourists there who'd want to visit it? 3. who would do it?? Also, "fill the rooms with stuff like it used to be"... where would they find those objects, except by making replicas? Furniture decays a lot faster than walls.
