Rudy seeing how death isn't something to play with, it can happen in an instant. Love how it showed Eris wanting to stick up for Rudy again but even she could tell Rudy fucked up this time. The animation was stunning on Ruijerd and Eris running around hacking and slashing. Got chills when Rudy was about to cumulonimbus the town. Gonna be difficult waiting for the 2nd cour.

The fact Rudeus hadn't suggested shaving to avoid being recognized was because they are trying to improve the Superd races reputation, the way Ruijerd looks now nobody will even think about the Superd race. Obviously Ruijerd couldn't go around looking like a Superd either so Rudeus decided to have Ruijerd look like someone pretending to be a Superd, this way any good deeds done will be associated in some way to the Superd race.

Edit: LN vs WN comparison below. No spoilers. At least Mushoku Tensei won't have issues with filler either way. The source material are the novels (not manga) and the Web Novel is already done, while the Light Novel is pretty much one volume away from finishing. Not to mention the WN and LN are about 90 - 95% the same. Btw, yes the Light Novel is very much censored. I even know of a scene that's just heavy, emotional and with character development that was not pervy or lewd at all, but because it wasn't "family friendly", it was removed. It seems there are going to be official re-translations, but we gotta wait to see what actually changed. *A (spoiler free) comparison of the WN vs LN:* WN is finished, completely free and fan-translated into English. A lot of the latter volumes were machine translated then revised by humans I personally didn't notice too many things wrong with it, but the vocab and grammar can be lacking at times. No issues with comprehension though. The English LN is at Volume 9 out of 24, with a volume being translated every few months. It's more polished in terms of grammar, variance of vocabulary etc. The LN is has extra content and chapters. Volume 7 of the LN is completely new content that wasn't in the WN, covering something that was otherwise time-skipped. Between the both of them, the plot and lore remains the same. No big changes, the dialogues are pretty much the same, some things have very minor tweaking to them. Some of the stuff towards the end (after volume 20) has been re-organized and re-structured, but the same events play out, with some extra content in LN here and there. Summing it up, LN is more polished in terms of translation, and to a lesser extent, in terms of writing too. It has quite a bit of extra content. The English version has censoring that does harm the story in places beyond just censoring "lewdness" (this has been fixed in the revised March 2021 edition) and is behind on volumes translated, covering less than half of the story. The story remains the same between both versions.

Also, Seven Seas has been busted three times in a row for this in less than a month. First it was Classroom of the Elite, then Mushoku Tensei, and the most recent scandal is the Bakarina light novels.

The world building in the first scene blew me away. I never thought of the mana cstastrophe as anything more than a way to get the plot moving. Seeing Rudy's homeland was basically nuked and hearing that his family is scattered to the wind was freaky. My god I love this show so much!!! So wholesome and animation is SICK! And let's not even talkg about the story, development and the sense of adventure. Honestly my favorite show this cour. I'm enjoying it even more than AoT, which is one of my favorite anime of all time, close to One Piece & Hunter x Hunter. Re:Zero is also in this season and it also great. That tells you all. That's how good I think Mushoku Tensei is. 11/10. No wonder Re:Zero author is a huge fan of it and no wonder it's called the grandfather of modern isekai.

The anime adapts the story very well, but in order to keep the pace going it can't show Rudy's thought process, which is pretty much half the content of the WN.

The light novel is censored at the moment. The publisher is releasing new versions of the books 1 and 2 and the next few months that are meant to have parts that were edited out restored. The whole thing has seriously pissed me off since I bought these books the day that they came out years ago because MT had been my favourite WN/LN series that I had read.

For the censorship, only a few sentences were removed from vol1 and vol2 so it's not really a big deal (and this should already fixed in digital version) The web novels are fan translated years ago so the quality isn't great and downright bad (machine translated) for later chapters. I started reading the light novel but it's only translated up to volume 9... and there's 24 volumes of WN, so what I did was to continue with the wn after finishing the translated LN. Of course when they release each volume of the LN like every 3-4 months I will read it. (Maybe the numbers are not exactly that)

Mushoku Tensei is most likely one of my favorite isekai animes, up there with re:zero and slime. It does make me sad that it's going on break and we got to wait till summer 2021, but that's alright I would say. The ones who are animating Mushoku Tensei and are putting all the love into it deserve a good break.

Love watching your video right after I watch an episode. I get to see your thoughts on the episode and series as a whole pretty much the same time as I am. I used to consider the light novel and web novel the same thing for a series, but I guess that thinking is wrong. What I read was most likely the WN as what I read was a translation that was made a long time ago. Still, I'd love to get my hands on a physical, translated, copy of this series.

The Light Novel translation company says they are going to republish the first two volumes that they censored, sometime this month (March). Read those when they are published, up to the 9th volume, which is as far as it's been translated. You can decide at that point if you want to switch to the Web Novel to finish the saga.

Chibi you can try to read the 1st volume of the light novel (then you can decide), because there are some parts that were not animated and more clarification on paul situation from zenith perspective (so i suggest to read it form vol 1 and not vol 3 which is where we are at(or maybe its now vol 4 for the part 2)). i used to read the web novel but now i owned up to volume 9 of mushoku tensei on bookwalker.

The funny part is that I went to look at the trailer after I watched the ep and I noticed that they changed the visuals to not spoil rujuid (probably spelt that wrong) shaving his head, he was only bald in around a second even though a lot if the visuals in the trailer that where used in this episode right after he went bald.

i would recomend reading the LN volumes that are out and then switching to the WN. Volume 10 of the LN is coming out in english on the 25 of march.

I think you should wait for after summer season to read, because if the studio keeps up the quality there will be porbably quite some things that will just hit different with fluid face animation and music. But afterwards it will probably take at least half a year for s3 even if it were directly announced, so you should start reading then. I only read the WN cuz it's fully translated on the internet and I can safely say that from what I read the quality is top notch. Also about the cencorship thing, I think it's more of a leeway in translation and differs from version to version, for example I have read that Paul actually assaulted Lilia and that he just had a one night stand with her and then dipped. Lastly I really doubt that they will take their time to wait for the manga, it's just too slow, it's also not all too great and most importantly it's on volume 9 out of 24 current LNs.

imo, as a random viewer, If the break is only 3 months, you might just wanna sit out, because sometimes as someone who already read the WN, it is nice to hear the opinion of someone who progresses together with the anime. After you read the WN/LN, you might hold back later on your opinions because you don't wanna spoil information to us viewers. Besides, the anime adapted the novel very well, so you don't have to doubt the info and the quality they give. P.S. well, if you are so excited to read already... go on 😅

@@r_chen5898 Yes, even though I mentioned the novel was adapted well in the anime. The earlier parts of Mushoku Tensei was fairly normal, however, there are no unnecessary details... I only realized this when I reread the novel. Even minor details are all relevant later on. + The depth shown regading values is a bit deeper in the novel. Example is when Rudi makes mistakes, his thoughts go further than what is shown in the anime. You can appreciate the story of Rudi the more you know it, so yeah, I think it is still fine to read the adapted parts.

@@xeno2936 Many people assumes that the manga is a poor adaption of the novel, that includes me. The manga is quite fast paced and lacks emotion... Example is the atmosphere is supposed to be tensed but Rudi somehow still makes a cute face. Although I say that, I still read the manga. I also started from the manga before I moved to the novel. If you are that much interested and plans to be invested, I suggest reading the novel as there would be no loss.

I would recommend reading the light novel until the recent volume, then read the web novel after. There isn’t much difference in both, its just that the light novel is a more polished version and has a few added chapters. The anime follows the japanese light novel because the english light novel was censored a bit. They changed some stuff but its not that important in my opinion like it doesn’t affect the story at all.

I was confused on the Roxy scene and someone told me that a lot of people was teleported. Some were lucky and were teleported near by, like Paul, some were like Rudy and were teleported to the most dangerous continent and some were just dropped in the middle of the ocean or into walls and just suffocate or in the sky and fall to their deaths.

Something of extra note that was not mentioned: That letter of Pauls at the very beginning of the episode, the one that Roxy was reading. It is quite an important detail. Don't overlook it~ You can tell a few things from it. ... Man i can't heckin wait for the next season, It's gonna be JUICY !

you should read the light novel, the light novel has a good chunk of adicional content that was not shown in the webnovel, regarding the censored part didnt really see much issues in the lightnovel, both are great either way thou the light novels aren't fully translated, currently out of 24 volumes i think about only 12 or 13 is officially english translated.

yea there are things that are toned down or changed for how shocking it can be in the light novel, personal recomendation read the web novel, all the mayor plot points and important events dont change and you can read it like was intended to be from the start and if you do, do it from the start, this first core covers the first 3 volumes of the novel so youll catch up fast, grate review as allways

The english puplisher already announced to Release an uncensored Version of the english light novel . An Argument to read the Web novel is it being Finished with 24 volumes and after storys both in english and raw Light novel has 24 in japan (25 gonna be final) but only 9 in english atm

If you wanna try the Webnovel, you can find it at novels.pl The only difference with WN and LN is that there is an extra arc in the middle (volume 7) but it only shows what happened in the timeskip. Don't worry, its basically a filler arc. and the other differences is that they polish some details and in the official English transltion of the LN, they definitely censored certain "details". at least, thats what i heard. I suggest the WN cause it feels more original since it was the original draft.

I don't think the light novel was censored, the manga was toned down a bit in both more adult themes and details, most people started reading the manga then went to continue in the LN which might explain why they think it was censored there is also the fact the reader can ignore dark themes when its in writing form better than when its visual like in anime

So the light novel does have some minor censorship. The Publisher for the English translation is putting out a new version that will remove the censorship in volume 1 and 2. Even then the censorship is very minor and i could still pick up what Paul had done even with it not being explicitly said. If you are looking to get a physical version I would wait til may to try and get the first 2 volumes since they are going to be printing the new versions in april and shipping out in late april or may from what ive seen. Otherwise if you are going to go digital with it you will get the updated version for free sometime this month. Now as far as reading the series. I personally suggest reading the light novel then switching over from where you left off to the web novel once you run out of material for the official translation if you dont want to wait for new volumes to release. The web novel is FAN TRANSLATED so keep that in mind. Its not going to be the easiest read ever lol. The Light novel is much better about ease of reading. Love your impressions on each episode! Looking forward to seeing your thoughts moving forward. If you do read the light novel ( i highly recommend it) I would love to see you do a review of each volume comparing the LN to the anime that has been released so far.

The WN and LN are basically identical except for Vol 7 of the LN Is the only new content. From what I heard the official English translation of the LN got censored recently.

I started reading it about 10 days ago and I am already starting chapter 20(24 is last) and I must say I am looking forward to seeing it animated, I think it may even reach Re: Zero quality level if the adaptation will stay this good, however, I am a little bit concerned that there are already some inner monologues of Rudy cut out and in the end it was quite speedrunning so I hope we will get an explanation what happened until they reached the city at the end. However I can recommend reading it, personally, I read a web novel, which you can find completely free and it is amazing, there is just a little difference that one chapter in WN is longer and gives a background in time skip, from what i know, apart from that it should be almost identical, but yeah loved it and look forward to seeing all the plot-twists and amazing characters that are waiting for us and I can really see it becoming the same tier as Re: Zero in future if everything goes well.

take my words with grain of salt of course and I may miss some things but: the wn and ln of mushoku are very close(with the exception volume 7 of the ln being a ln exclusive, telling the tale of something that was offscreened in the wn) but from what I do know some post final volume sides story of the wn got deleted due to their reception and content(the author said the gist of it are still canon, but some important detail are not anymore , and that he will rewrite them eventually to iron things out)Those sides story affect mainly relationship between character post the main story but touch on backstory element of main characters..Idk about censoring but as for the sides story I mentioned I d say it s up to the individual if they see it as censorship or if the author simply messed up his vision.
