It’s easy when you have fitness, which means the heart rate is low for him at those paces which makes it easy. If he was doing a hard run then he would probably have to touch the 5 minute paces to actually push himself.

When I broke 5 in the mile there was no chance I was doing 5 mile runs at 6 minute pace. You are an endurance monster my guy
@epg42316 күн бұрын
This is the comment I was looking for! This guy is absolutely pure endurance, all his muscle is slow twitch. He's the same as me. I suck at the mile but I'm decent around 20 miles. Pure slow twitch. This guy should hit like 2:50 for a marathon which is normally what a 4:42 miler but this guy is endurance specialist fasho. Only downside is kick won't be fast and asthetically speaking no muscle. And if you need to fight someone you need fast twitch muscle to overwhelm someone in a fight because fights don't usually go on for hours in most circumstances it just wouldn't happen for hours usually. 😂

@brando3465Ай бұрын
No it's good to do ur easy runs slower so ur body can recover. If u go too fast, you could overtrain, get hurt, or just be too tired to for workouts and races. I run a 15:40 5k and I do my easy runs at about 7:20-7:40 pace and most of the people I know who are my speed run around there as well.
@ccbgaming6994Ай бұрын
@brando3465 Completely agree. I used to do easy runs at 6:50-7:00 pace all the time but I was always too sore or sometimes hurt. I hate to admit it, but I was definitely an “ego-runner”. I’m just pointing out that he appears to have better running economy than me, maybe that being one of the reasons his easy runs are slightly faster than mine.

yeah I'm currently a junior with a pr of 16:10 so far (shooting for sub 16 by next weekend 🤞) my sophmore pr was 17:21. Sophmore year I ran most of my long runs at sub 8 to 7:30 pace but starting this year my long runs have been at 8 to sometimes 9:30 pace and I've noticed a huge improvement in performance and overall feel. Slowing down for those easy/long run days is so important it helps ensure you're ready for the hard days (the important practices) and helps make running easier (aka more fun imo). Don't go so slow that u sacrifice form but go slow enough that you can hold an easy conversation 👍

ask someone to film you, you're gonna be ashamed by how medium 4:00 is in reality. It feels like you're fast because your body is struggling, you're pushing really hard, little oxygen is reaching your brain, so it has a distorted perception. Going at sub 3:00 during 100m makes you realize that.
