I have #2 - it took us several weeks to figure out a detergent that would not leave a funky smell after each wash. The usual Finish that was working fine with the GE we had before, just left a food smell in this new machine. The GE we had was the second one that simply stopped working after 5 years (2 GEs in a time frame of 10 years). Will the new KitchenAid last longer...? I doubt it, but it is extremely quiet. And you almost never have to take care of the filter. I used to have the same exact Bosch while living in EU with the same drying system. Very energy efficient. Problem: the door once simply fell down, because its balancing system is mounted on the base of the appliance, which is a plastic monolith. Once that is broken, you cannot repair it. German design...I guess? (oh, and the controls lost the ink and when I asked to fix it, they asked me 1/3 the cost of the appliance to replace the whole button assembly).

what detergent you ended up using with your kitchenaid?

@@emarte Cascade Free & Clear. Everything else we tried has either a too strong perfume scent (some are almost overwhelming) or they don't remove the funky/food smell on the dishes/glassware all the time. To be on the safe side, if we cook eggs, we do the wash with an additional cup of vinegar.

We bought the same Bosch dishwasher as on your list (blake suggested same dishwasher previously too), but this dishwasher is not drying properly, water still remains in top rack, does anyone facing same problem?

⁠@@charleskhedia242. I bought My Bosch series 8 dishwasher today. I tried it out. Dishes were bone dry and hot and immaculately clean. Water residue is normal in those parts as what you say. The AEG I owned for 2 weeks was useless and I told Harvey Norman’s to take it back.

Handwashing is certainly an option, but there are things a dishwasher can do that your hands can't do. And these days dishwashers are super efficient so on average you'll actually save more water using a dishwasher over handwashing.

@@BoulevardHome Thanks, I think it was a good video otherwise :) That soap just stands out as a really big red flag. I have seen several salespeople buy it themselves just so that they can tell customers it's what they use, to gain some ethos for their bold claims. I have had to take many calls where the customer is upset with their machine's performance when the only real issue is their usage/expectations about the overpriced soap they were manipulated into buying. It's kind of a sore spot for me I suppose.
