No moral compass without religion? If the religion and the history of religions is the moral way, then I despise the moral thing to do. So much blood shed in the name of different Gods...
@A-human-like-you11 ай бұрын
No darling, the blood shed is in the name of money and power seeking. The religions has nothing to do with that. The f***** up people used religions for their own political advantages, to gain more appeal. But in reality again religious are not the culprit, dig deeper and u’ll see it

Life is constant blood shed on every level. It's nonsense to claim that religion is the cause of human violence. A moral code based on submission to a higher power carries more weight than on based on personal preference. I understand your point.
@SlayWhat.-.6 ай бұрын
People shed blood even when there's no religion involved . The biggest world wars weren't based on religions. So basically the problem here is people not religions. And these people make many excuses to shed blood religion is just one of them.

These classes/topics are essential for our young people to listen and relate to differences. But there should be no grade for this class. Universities should require this class for every major AND the class should be attended EVERY quarter the student is enrolled.

@kengraves6363 there can be a choice. it's just that you can't get rid of grading. if you choose not to attend you get an F. that way you have a free choice. F is for Free

How to waste your life talking to an imaginary invisible man. If you spend your life believing that this life isn't as important as your next life then you don't value this life. If you believe this is the only life you have then you value this life and live it to the full and in the best way you can.

such an ignorant thing to say

You can live your life to the fullest but still believe in the “imaginary man”. The Bible is a handbook for life here on earth. I’m not a religious person but there are excellent stories and parables in the Bible that hold true today. Your assuming he’s imaginary. Maybe he is but maybe he’s not.

Ignorance is to ignore knowledge. I never ignore knowledge, I thrive on it. I have knowledge of the bible and everything it says. I spent 15 years studying it rather than just taking other people's word for it. I came to the conclusion that it wasn't written by eye witnesses because abraham and mosses were illiterate, so there goes the foundations. There are no real accounts of jesus' life until he started making waves, then he suddenly became famous. All the accounts were written by unknown authors at least 30 years after the supposed crucifixion. The bible is a book of constant contradiction from start to finish and although one can cherry pick the few good bits from it, it's basically a horror story of genocide, child rape and murder, slavery, hideous punishments and animal sacrifice. If this is the book you get your morals from then good luck. There never has been and never will be any proof that any of it is true. Even if there is a God, I will not praise him for creating me defective and born a sinner through no fault of my own and then persecute me for being that way. I'll stick to things that can be proven. You can live in la la land if you like.

One could make an argument that recognizing the limitations of this life and anticipating the next does, in fact, make you live it in a “full” way. If this life is only a prelude to “eternal life”, then acting in accordance with faith and reason is the best way to spend this time. Not disagreeing with you, but it’s important to understand the mindset behind living life in that way.

I grew up being Mormon and left the religion after finishing college and getting married. I was never interested in partying, drinking, or any of that, and I’m still not interested in it. I played music, made art, learned multiple skills and languages; all apart from my formal education in medicine. I never found the need to do anything extra for fun 🤷🏻♀️

Mormons have very good values, morals, and ethics for the most part. Good upbringing turns a child into a quality adult.
