Drove the BYD seal 3.8s at the everything electric show in Sydney Olympic Park, thrashed the car as I had no one with me, I loved it. Keep in mind I drove there in my Mercedes Benz E53 AMG. So, one from the other the BYD is an amazing car. Don't worry about the whole media Anti-China propaganda. We love our cars that's it remember who dropped bombs on Darwin and who were fighting back (it was the Chinese fighting back against Japan) which our media won't remind us of who our ANZAC fought against.

We have two ATTO3 at home as well as solar and charger, 3-phase is a bit of overkill for Atto, single phase is sufficient. We really enjoy driving the car and love them! Great driving experience!

Sadly the Atto 3 only charges on AC at 7.0 kw. Actually , more precisely at 6.4kw.

same. Even if it's anywhere near 2100km . Should be plenty range especially for the price
@fredfrond61483 ай бұрын
@@justifiedmasagony3635 yes true. Nobody wants to do a range test that takes 3 days. I can only find two range tests. The first I saw was one where the guy got only 1500 km because he was going uphill, in wet weather, with the heat pump/ air con running and driving at 130km/hr. Another one the guys claimed 2400 km. Needless to say this is really for people who put the miles in. Otherwise your gasoline would go bad or you would have summer gasoline when you wanted winter.

It makes me happy that an elite race such as Australians is choosing BYD, which boosts my confidence in the brand because this superior race prefers it over Toyota, and it's a "Seal"of approval.

I'm also thankful that BYD cars are successful in Australia, because it means more parts, accessories, and aftermarket options for us Asians.

We have an Atto 3 and a 2024 Model 3 LR. I’m disappointed in the lack of updates for the Atto3. I think we have had only one or two updates for the Atto in 12 months. So many improvements needed especially for the displays, and the regen braking needs increasing. The Tesla is updated about monthly. No fixes I’ve needed, but lots of improvements and tweaks. I see why Tesla has the best software.
@Carnormous3 ай бұрын
I agree. I wish BYD was like Tesla when it comes to update.
@kecikmiao07113 ай бұрын
the regen braking is actually activated from your brakes.. if u notice when u hit yr brakes lightly the meter will show -xxkwh on the dash signifiying its regen braking doing its job.. and if u hit the brakes harder then the caliper will do its job with the regen braking.. hence y ppl tends to feel more ''bitty'' with thte brakes BYD feels more like a conventional car thats y its easier for other ppl to drive it without too much problems..
@Paul-ow9dd3 ай бұрын
@@kecikmiao0711 Yes, correct. I didn't quite realise that until recently. But I prefer higher motor braking such as what Tesla does. The disc pads will last close to the life of the vehicle, and I find controlling the vehicle speed down pretty much any hill with just the accelerator gives me the driver much better control over my speed. No more gravity pushing me above the posted speed limit. But I get it that BYD do things different from Tesla. I just would like to see them support the Atto 3 into the future with software updates. Tesla still support 10+ year old vehicles with software improvements where the hardware allows. As I've said the screens are in need of much improvement with fonts, colours and layout. The drivers screen on our Atto often doesn't automatically go into dark mode at night. Have to toggle dark/light to make it switch. And, the HVAC system doesn't remember the previously used setting, so I'm constantly turning AC off and resetting the air vents on every use. So frustrating. The only setting it remembers is the temperature previously set. I can't understand why they designed it that way. Makes no sense.

I got both Tesla and BYD as well and agree BYD software is pretty bad, waiting for Xpeng to come out looks like their software is on par with Tesla
@Paul-ow9dd3 ай бұрын
Yes, Tesla software updates are pretty regular. Just had another minor update come through this morning. I really like how they have designed their software pages. Hard to fault - even from a fussy bloke like me. 😀

So are phones. I’m pretty sure they don’t really care that Bazza is driving to his local Woolies for his weekly grocery shop then to the RSL for a Parmy. I think Google and Apple are farming much more information from our phones than China ever will from our cars
@Paul-ow9dd3 ай бұрын
@@WillyV77 Agreed! But if driver information is being mined and sent to insurance companies (which is a recent suggestion) then that concerns me.
@Paul-ow9dd3 ай бұрын
@@garryferguson799 I guess it depends how paranoid you are. In my Model 3 I haven't even bothered covering up the cabin camera which is "always watching me". Nothing to hide, I guess. If I was a 20 something, then it may be a different story. LOL! 😁 Speaking of cameras, I will say that the 360-camera system on the Atto 3 - and other BYD vehicles is better than what Tesla offer.
