I've been rocking a Galaxy Tab S6 with the SuperAMOLED 10.5" screen for 3+ years. It was a flagship in 2019 with a Snapdragon 855, 256Gb and 8GB RAM. WiFi-only, that works seamlessly with my Pixel 4a5G. I bought it specifically to fly my drone with a bigger better monitor than my smartphone. Tab S6 just got progressively better with each iteration of OneUI, now at Android 12 (4.1.1). Maybe my fav device, was a mint/new refurb with warranty for $320.

Personally if I could give any advice is: get as much storage as you can seriously don't get anything in the double digits storage wise if you can get between 256gb and above great but at least get 128 seriously as someone whose used a cheaper iPad model as a daily driver and even to as a tool when I got into art school to work anywhere and on my desktop. Storage has been the biggest deterrent to my workflow over time and its made a huge impact on how I do things on my iPad it's gotten to the point were the awful 32gb I had were putting me at risk of losing progress on heavier pieces just because of file size and how it slows down the performance of my tablet. Please future-proof I've been using my iPad for 4 years and in the 1 year I've drawn the most and have used it to make assignments for my classes I now need an upgrade just because of this.

@@rajivvishwa that's easy to answer. Make something too good and people won't buy the next iteration. Apple has always made their products with that in mind. Hi Brad, this was an excellent video and it got a like from me. I have been lazy and haven't kept up with any of my drawing or digital art for many years now. I just got the itch to get back to doing digital art a few days ago, and traded in my old iPad mini (6 gen) to the new M4 iPad Pro 13" specifically to have a full size art canvas to be used with Procreate and of course the larger screen will also be amazing for watching movies and tv on the go. Last night I did my first digital painting in at least 5 years, and as rusty as I am it still turned out great. Keep up the good work and I look forward to your next video.

Great information! I bought a Tab S7+ instead of a dedicated drawing tablet (early 2021), and it replaced my laptop. Draws so good, and is a great computer that I still use every day. Good call out on the S6 Lite. I bought my Dad the OG S6 Lite and it's definitely laggy 3 1/2 years later. Still great for drawing, still has a good looking screen, but as a computer it struggles. If you can stretch for a flagship instead of a Lite or FE, it definitely retains usability for longer.

It's clunky, user-unfriendly, counter-intuitive, restrictive and ugly. It's everything that I dislike about Apple products. I simply can't fathom how people use Apple devices on a daily basis. Even something as a simple as installing a font becomes a ridiculously convoluted task. It's an utterly absurd experience. If there was a comparitive Windows device, I'd jump ship in a heartbeat. Anyone watching this and are considering the s6 lite. Stay away from it. Don’t get me wrong it’s a decent tablet but it’s not very future proof. The 4 gbs of ram and 64 gb is realistically 2 gbs of ram and like 50 gbs. If you play games it’s only has 60hz and it’s not the smoothest experience. I ended up returning mine and getting the s10 plus cause it fit my needs better. Definitely go with the s9fe that usually on sale for around $329. Which is worth the extra cost from the s6 lite. If you want the full dex experience go with a renowned tab s8 that you can get on amazon around $340. I guarantee the experience would be much nicer.

Over here it's quite a different story. The iPad 9th gen is €320 and the Apple Pencil is €90... €410 in total. The Galaxy S6 Lite 2024 is €259 and the Galaxy Tab S9 Fe is €348. Apple is just too expensive here to even consider. Personally due to the lack of RAM and storage on both the iPad and S6 Lite, I would get the S9 Fe with 6Gb or RAM and 128Gb of storage if I had to start on a budget. I like the S9 Fe, I have the 256Gb version that comes with 8Gb of RAM. I'm now working on an artwork that is 4900x200 pixels, has already 120 layers and tons of small details in it and the S9 Fe is still managing well without hiccups or slow downs. I have a 4Gb tablet as well and it can't handle the artwork anymore, it's stopped when I wasn't even halfway through. For the 9 Fe with 256Gb of storage and 8Gb of memory, I paid €400. That's still less than that way older iPad. The extra investment for the better screen, better color accuracy, better cpu/gpu and more memory and storage makes all the difference for me and is worth the extra investment.

for art I don’t really use any of the features of the newer pencils. I’m pretty slow when it comes to drawing anyway, which might be part of it, but i generally just click the buttons and adjust everything on the screen manually. When note taking, I use the squeeze feature a lot to switch colors/tools (btw: for a great note taking app and a pretty good pdf viewer on the iPad, Noteful is amazing. The free version is alright, but Pro costs $10 one time, it’s great) but it never really comes in handy when drawing - too many options to choose from and modify for it to be useful.

I’m trying to choose between the Huion Kamvas 16 (2021) and the Kamvas 13 (Gen 3) which would you recommend I don’t really care about the size between the 2, just quality size which one you would recommend?
@fiveoclock78296 күн бұрын
Well, overall I think I've been seeing people praise the New kamvas 13 quite a bit. Personally, between the two I got the kamvas 13, mainly due to the size though. I wanted something with a big enough screen as to not be annoying to work with, but also with a small enough screen to be easy to carry around and take with me. 13.3" Seemed like the perfect sweet spot.

@ I had previously got the XP pen artist 10 (2nd Gen) and I thought it would be an OK size, but it actually was really small so I was also kind of going back-and-forth on the size as well like because I have a 10 inch and I didn’t know if a 13 inch would be a big enough size up or if it would be like not that different and then I didn’t know if a 16 inch would be too big how has it been using the 13 inch?

@tccova1212 personally, I feel fairly comfortable with it. My hands aren't particularly big either so that's a plus. Also, I do definitely feel like it's the perfect size in terms of the proper balance between giant and tiny. It's slightly bigger than an ipad pro, to put it into perspective

I always enjoy your videos but I notice you always place the caveat about pen tablets as something to steer away from. I don't think it's that hard to use them since most people can use a mouse pretty accurately without having to look at it. And let's not forget learning how to touch type without having to look at the keyboard. 🤔🤔 Just something I noticed. 😁😁

I need help pls I want to get a iPad for art I am thinking the iPad Pro M4 or the new Air I am new to iPad art if that makes sense
@LabelsAreMeaningless6 күн бұрын
The IPad and Samsung tab are pointless for those who do art on the PC. The learning curve isn't that bad on the screenless tablets, and they don't break as quickly. Mouse users are already half the way there. It's the same in that you need to coordinate your mouse position with the cursor position on the screen. Also, once you learn how to use the non screen tablets, there is no bonus to having a screen tablet. Only down sides due to the added tech. If you don't want to do art on your PC, then the iPad or Samsung tab is fine to use. But you're limiting yourself.

I tried a screenless tablet and hated that not only I have to sit at my desk, but also have to stare at my monitor instead of screen. For me tablets like this are about comfort and seeing what I'm drawing, like with paper but better. I sold a screenless tablet. To each their own.

Agreed. Although I do have an S6 Lite (2024) and love it, I use a pen tablet on my PC. I do draw on my S6 Lite but it's also used for other tablet things when I am out and about. But I have little use for it once I get home with a full-fledged PC and 27-inch monitor.

used a screenless tablet for a few years before getting a Samsung tab + it has definitely helped me a lot
@ajwalker44166 күн бұрын
@@youarebymyside Yes. I use both. When I'm at my desk, which is often, it's easier to draw sitting upright with a big monitor. When I'm away from my computer or want to be away from my computer, I use my S6 Lite.

Drawing purely on the tablet seems more comfortable, so get the pen

Hey Brad about the ai generated voice over... it is speaking in Hindi but the choice of words are too old. We don't use those words in our day today lives. Some of them I am not even sure what they mean.

Buy a PC thats the correct way. Also you don't need to pay for software most of them can be found pirated for Windows on certain sites that I can't name here 😂. Also Windows is a full fledged operating system so it will not cripple your creativity by not doing what you want it to do. If you already have a Samsung or ipad just get the Easy canvas app and then use those tabs as pen display for your PC.

Krita is literally free and open source too, so you don't really need to crack as a beginner! Heck, you can even still use krita for professional work..

@@BenMalas Unironically you can after all Mini PCs and Handheld PCs like Rog Ally exist. And those can literally charge using a smartphone power bank. So yeah PCs are still the best option.

@@Testingflirt You can literally make one under $180 😒 BRUH STOP LYING. ALL YOU NEED IS GOOD ENOUGH CPU WITH INTEGRATED GRAPHICS, ATLEAST 16GBs RAM, AND A 1TB STORAGE, YOU CAN GET A BOTTOM OF THE TIER MOTHERBOARD, CASES AND POWER SUPPLIES ARE CHEAP, CHEAP DISPLAYS CAN BE FOUND ANYWHERE, BUT SINCE YOU MIGHT ALREADY HAVE A TABLET YOU CAN REUSE THAT, NOW JUST BUY A TABLET OR REUSE YOUR SAMSUNG OR APPLE TAB. THERE YOU GO PROBLEMS SOLVED. JUST SAY THAT YOU GUYS ARE LAZY CUZ IF ANYONE GAVE ME THE OPTION TO PERMANENTLY OWN A COPY OF CSP EX I WOULD HAPPILY GET A PC SINCE CSP IS JUST THAT GOOD. BUT I GUESS THE US IS TOO MUCH POPULATED WITH IPAD KIDS 🤣. Btw you can add a GPU WAY DOWN THE LINE WHEN YOU FINALLY HAVE EARNED SOMETHING OR WANT TO PLAY GAMES TOO SO YEAH PCS ARE STILL BETTER
