Just a little RESPECT! We’ve heard Aretha Franklin sing that song, but the original writer of that song was Otis Reddings…he wrote that song for his wife. As a musician he traveled a lot, but in the song he wrote “All I’m asking for is just a little Respect when I get home. Read the book called “Love and Respect!” By Dr. Emerson Eggerichs Love & Respect: The Love She Most Desires, The Respect He Desperately Needs.

It isn't weak or unsafe for a man to share his mental and emotional struggles with his gf/wife. I am a therapist. My boundary is that I'm a supportive partner but he needs a therapist if he is struggling and I will help him find one. I can't be both, no one should be. My past relationship improved when he had a licensed therapist to take the load so I could support. This goes both ways, no male partner should be a therapist for his wife/gf either. Independent self development improves relationships. Coming together and sharing insights and supporting each other's efforts creates a strong bond.

Ask women what they think when someone says 'Traditional' and they immediately go to Homemaker and Servitude. However, men want a few traits that are considered 'Traditional' that modern women lack today. 1. Grace, 2. Charm, 3. Modesty, 4. Consideration, 5. Gratitude, and most of all 6. Courtesy. Find a woman that fits those six traits in today's society.

That would be very hard to come by, indeed. In my estimation, women's lacking feminity is downstream of men's lacking masculinity. Men need to get their mojo back.

@@shawnclement3365 I’m mid 40s, and sadly, I haven’t found too many men who appreciate and value those traits. I like to have those traits in myself, but it’s obvious when they’re not valued or appreciated. It’s hard to find men like that-even among Christian men. I’m considered old fashioned in my generation. Oh well! 🤷🏻‍♀️

@@PeaceIsYeshua Men have to determine whether a woman is worthy of being treated with those traditional values, modern women don't. That isn't to say there aren't any, just a vast majority

I loved this discussion so much, very on topic. I like a very masculine man as I'm naturally very femine. I'm yet to enjoy a date like that, though I'm sure us femine ladies would enjoy it. I don't feel safe in my femine energy so I try to be more masculine when I'm outside. As I continuously deal with unwanted touches, hugging, staring for minutes is too much, and dominating behaviour such as, too many relentless questions. So I wear pretty coloured pastal clothing in the house. I wear black outside fully covered up, and I try my best to look moody. Though even doing this I still don't feel safe, and have the same problems. This felt like you knew me 😯👍🏼

@Amy, do you mind if I ask where you’re from? I’m so sorry you have to hide who you are in order to feel safe. :( I’m in Texas, and while I have attracted some bad attention at times, I can go into “tough mode” when needed. I don’t ever want fear to change who I am or my personality. I’m naturally very friendly and warm-I do dial it down a little with men depending on the situation, and it’s hard to do, but if it’s a place I frequent, I don’t want any of the men there to try to engage me in conversation every time I go in, so I’m still friendly, but I dial it back. Ha! Best of luck to you!! ❤

Those two terms are not reliably exclusive to biblical living, either. As a follower of Jesus Christ, I don't lead with "I am a traditional feminine woman" I lead with "I am a follower of Jesus Christ".
