The thing about Tool, for me, and many of my musician minded friends, is that they are all very unique on their respective roles. Adam Jones is a pioneer of progrock/metal guitar, and has crafted an immediately recognizable identity. I would argue the same is verfiably true for both Justin Chancellor and Danny Carrey as well. The biggest hurdle with Tool is that diehard Tool fans are typically insufferable cork sniffers, and even the members of the band typically aren't too happy to deal with it.
@TheApsodist3 жыл бұрын
Another thing about tool is that they are so unique in their approach to songwriting and that doesn't sit with some people. Their songs don't really have melodious lines and harmonic backgrounds that follow common chord progressions, more like a droning, rhythmic kind of sound.

Indie rock isn't a genre. It's a category of bands either unsigned or signed to a small and independent label. The confusion comes from a flood of very similar sounding post-punk alternative rock bands in the late 1980s coinciding with a flood of small local labels and self-publishing around the same time.
